Mirstone: The Marine’s All Out Strike On A Pirate Haven

Pirates. A problem many islands of the world find themselves plagued with. Innocents are attacked, ships destroyed, whole villages are killed. But one group stands in their path at every opportunity. The Marines of the World Navy. These very Marines recently staged a huge military action in the West Blue to thin out a huge quantity of the pirate menace in the blues. Led by revered Rear Admiral Khazra Marshton, the whole endeavor involved hundreds of hours of preparation and thousands of Marines involved.
They started by choosing the location, an island known as Mirstone. While many of it's inhabitants didn't want the island to be a pirate haven, it had become one over the past few years. Many small Marine raids had been staged here, but rarely did they result in much. The Rear Admiral planned to change that, and with her usual minimal bloodshed to boot! She started the whole affair by having Marines, who shall remain unnamed, spread rumor of a map to the One Piece on Mirstone. While most doubted her plan it turned out surprisingly effective, even compared to the Rear Admiral's expectations.
The island flooded with pirates from all over the blues, and in a case or two, from the Grand Line. Within a two week time span the island teemed with hundreds of pirates from dozens of crews. The plan had worked and the gathered Marine forces prepared to spring their trap. Several Marines on the island undercover kept rumor of the map alive and controlled the pirates to the best of their abilities. While out at sea the Marines created a blockade surrounding the island. Select ships sailed inland and the undercover Marines worked with them to terrify the pirates out to sea. To be trapped between the landing party and the blockade.
The resulting blow to the pirate population in the West Blue has been astounding. Professionals estimate up to twenty five percent of all pirates in West Blue were killed or captured in the one military action. Pirates big and small were killed and captured. Names such as Harold "Black Hand" Swanson, Kenji Kita, the Deathscythe pirates, the Blood Wind pirates, Versoth Maximus, and many more were brought in or killed in the attack. This is officially the most successful Marine raid in the history of the West Blue, if not all the blues!
Many Marines involved are being understandably rewarded for their participation. Though for reasons that are her own, the woman responsible for this plot has declined offer of promotion. Why Rear Admiral Marshton would refuse a, well earned, offer to become Vice Admiral we can only speculate. As for the others we have several promotions of note. The man who led the landing forces, Captain Sellick Havrick, has received a promotion to Commodore for his valiant and decisive leadership in face of great danger. His younger brother and second in command, Commander Damian Havrick, saved several civilian children during a pirate escape attempt. He will be promoted to Captain for his brave hearted and selfless actions.
Commander Evelyn Torack, for actions to preserve and protect civilian lives, as well as for the identification and assist in taking down William Kidd and Kenji Kita, will be promoted to Captain. Commander Kaede Nakahara, for excellent leadership and the capture or destruction of multiple escaping pirate ships, will be promoted to Captain. Many others will be seeing promotions or awards of varying kinds over these next few days. Including the Rear Admiral's very own son, who will be moving up out of the Infantry division!
All in all the whole affair was a rousing success. Civilian casualties were next to zero, as was property damage, thanks to the Marine's determined efforts to keep us all safe. Hundred upon hundreds of pirates have been removed from society, never to hurt and plunder again. Many Marine's have finally been recognized for their ongoing excellence and willingness to put their lives at risk for us non combatants. I don't know about all you readers, but I for one am glad we have the Marines!
New Yonko Crew "Dreadbeast Pirates" Prompts New World Fear

The rise of the most recent Pirate Emperor has been the talk of most of the world after the young man and his crew overthrew the relentless tirade of a Emperor who ruled through fear. Many thought this a grand feat, and pondered the possibilities of an Emperor of the people. Perhaps this will be the case.
However recent speculation and witnessed Marine action speaks otherwise. Multiple sources indicate the newly risen Emperor makes to meet with Lycoris Radita. The rather universally feared and hated Emperor, that was hated less than only the now dead ex-Emperor. No one is sure the purpose of this meeting.
Sources tell us that only two of the Dreadbeast Pirates' ten members seem to be on route to meet with her. As such many have given up on the notion they are going to wipe out the evil Emperors and instill relative peace in the New World. Many theories have risen, but one thing remains certain. With that crews victory over an Emperor far their elder, and the two members recent victory over the Buster Call meant to keep the Emperors from meeting, no one doubts the young new Emperor's actions will make a stir world wide.

Fleet Admiral Taizo Mimura Announces Engagement

The world is given a reason for grand celebration as the Taizo Mimura announces to the world that he and Duchess Kamina Shalan of Greil Island in the New World recently became engaged. This announcement comes following a brief leave of absence on the part of the Fleet Admiral. One can only speculate as to how the proposal took place, but one thing is for certain; it’s a question guys and girls around the world are asking.
Further reports indicate that Duchess Kamina intends for a formal reveal of the ring later this week and you can be sure that magazines across the blues will be publishing those photos. The world, no doubt, has high expectations for the diamond admiral and I’m sure scores of jewelers across the seas are preparing to attempt their own replications of what is no doubt spectacular. Stay tuned for more details on a date, location and potential worldwide invitation to join the festivities.

Ex-Admiral Shirohebi Dies at Age 85

The world mourns the loss of a great leader both in the Marines and the local community. Two nights ago the retired Admiral Shirohebi, known as Xing Foo Tian outside of his Marine duties, died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 85 years old. He elected to donate his body to the Marine Science Division.
However there will be a spiritual shrine for his spirit on his home island. A wake will be had in three days at his shrine, led by his wife, fellow retired Admiral, Chairotaka. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Evelyn Meryll Tian, son Li Kuang Tian, daughter Jing Wei Black, and grandchildren Katherine Rizotta Black, Evelyn Marie Black, and Zhong Shen Tian.

Black Water Near Gailon in the Grand Line

Recent reports have revealed that the waters near the Lilting Lands of the Grand Line. Once known for their music, reports have revealed that recent travelers have gone missing or gotten stuck in the black waters that are reaching out around the island.
No confirmation as to the source of the problem yet although it is believed that Warlord Nikko Furough was recently seen in the area and many hope that he’s conducting an investigation. No comment yet from the World Navy either, but we’re sure they’re investigating the concerns as they are brought to their attention.
