What people or places are you taking inspiration from: The places my character will take inspiration from are Greece, Persia, Japan, China, France, and, of course, Egypt, among other places. People-wise, you can expect influence from just about anyone from any time period.

Why did you choose to land where you did: Ancient Egypt's architecture, fashion, history, culture, geography, socio-political environment(s), etc. always fascinated me, and I've learned about the area before. However, I'm no expert on Ancient Egypt, so I hope the RP can help further my knowledge.

Where in the world are you landing?: Zalantun, Inner Mongolia, China

Bio: Eddy Pak was born and raised in Hong Kong on December 25, 2001. His family came from a Yue (Cantonese) background. Despite him being a "Christmas baby", he was often met with a bad omen/luck and the cause of it remains uncertain to this day. Because he would often get bullied throughout his school years before finally dropping out of high school and he had an unhealthy relationship with his family, Eddy resorted to becoming a professional gamer one day to escape those hardships. However, it has since gotten worse, but for the better. He ended up playing video games for countless hours in his rented apartment while avoiding paying the rent as well as not going outside for a while.

Now at the age of 21, Eddy was in the middle of playing an online game on his computer called Yangshao Quest, where players could play as people living in Neolithic China and it was a simulation/roleplaying game. As usual, he played it for countless hours. Until finally, he fell asleep from drowsiness and his Neolithic quest began...

What are your intentions for this RP; what do you think your Author will seek to accomplish?: It's uncertain as of now.
What people or places are you taking inspiration from?: Oda Nobunaga, Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, and Sejong the Great, probably.
Why did you chose to land where you did?: I'm just fascinated with Chinese culture and history in general. However, the region is roughly outside of the Chinese culture's sphere of influence.
What vibe should we get from your civilization and its culture, if you seek to establish one?: It's uncertain as of now.
What are your character's motivations?: To redeem himself through the value of hardship, change, and valor.

Description of Personality: Asaf comes off as a friendly albeit slightly introverted person, meaning that while he's unlikely to strike up a conversation with a stranger, he'll not shy away from social situations.
Where in the world are you landing?: Indus Valley, modern-day Pakistan.

Autobiography/Biography: Asaf was born in Dublin to an Indian father and Persian mother. His dad was a doctor and worked at a public hospital nearby, while his mother who used to be a teacher, left work to take care of the children; Asaf and his two sisters. His parents had never sought to push him into choosing any particular career, so when Asaf graduated high school, he applied to Trinity College, to study literature. Here, he took history, language and politics as optional electives, fascinated by his own roots, and the almost primordial cultures to which he belonged.

What are your intentions for this RP; what do you think your Author will seek to accomplish?: Like all of us put in a situation like this, I think his initial goal will be to survive. In time though, I think Asaf might be interested in changing this world for the better.
What people or places are you taking inspiration from?: Khosrow I, Ashoka, Menander, The Harappan Civilisation, Tamilakam etc.
Why did you chose to land where you did?: Well, its a mystery isn't it? The IVC, one of earliest and greatest of world civilisations just up an vanishes by 1400BC.
What vibe should we get from your civilization and its culture, if you seek to establish one?: Pre-Aryan Indian, Centralized, Bureaucratic & Pluralistic.
What are your character's motivations?: I would suppose self aggrandizement at first, but would hope that at some point a sense of responsibility sets in. It all really depends on how the RP progresses.

Autobiography/Biography: Jesiah Norton comes from an infamous Norton family, descended from Joshua Abrahams Norton who proclaimed himself as Emperor Norton, a resident of San Francisco, California, who in 1859 proclaimed himself "Norton I., Emperor of the United States" and “Protector of Mexico” by the time the French invaded Mexico in 1863.

While Jesiah Norton acknowledges his family’s bizarre past as far as before the American Civil War era, he pretty much lived a normal life. He didn’t struggle with anything in his life as he belonged to the upper-class family. How privileged. He then took up Environmental Engineering, with specialization in Geography and minors in Sustainability Engineering and graduated at the University of San Francisco. He then moved to Colorado due to the fact that jobs are aligned with his degree. He also took up a master’s degree in the University of Denver. He found someone and got four children (3 girls, 1 guy). He spent his life working in Colorado, creating connections with the upper echelons of the United States due to his career. Why did you chose to land where you did?: Rule the Germanic tribes in Germania, conquer Europe, go south to Greece or.. to Asia? Who knows.
What vibe should we get from your civilization and its culture, if you seek to establish one?: Authoritarian humanocentric progress-orientated theocracy.
What are your character's motivations?: Broadly, develop a method of returning to the future (because that is the most practical thing to do for an author in my opinion). If impossible, develop the best life for himself as possible, and perhaps a bit of guiding humanity to a brighter future along the way.

What do you wanna see in this RP? What would make it better?: A bit concerned at the timescale (I assume this is a nation-building roleplay that is done by a single person from the future which is unique) as there were no details about it. There isn't really any room for characterization or depth of slow development at the pace of five years to a page, and I would rather focus in on those bits, as I think they will be most interesting.​

What were you doing prior to falling asleep and awakening in the past?: Reviewing her detailed lecture notes for class tomorrow.

Description of Personality: Gu Wan is someone that considers herself to be intelligent, after all the smartest person in the room isn’t always the loudest. She has the ability to take everything in, seeing that others missed, like subtle patterns. Rather than being rigid and worrying about something that's out of her control, Gu Wan remains mentally flexible and can easily adjust to an abrupt change or disturbance, no matter what gets thrown her way. She does things with a purpose, she doesn't just ask a bunch of questions for the sake of asking questions. She does so in order to gain insight that can help her better understand what she's doing, thinking, feeling, and anticipating. By asking the right questions, drawing the right pictures, and saying the right words means she'll never regret not asking someone that one question that's been on the tip of her tongue or finding herself regretting not being more observant, she adapts well to new or difficult situations and she's able to think creatively.

After all, who liked constantly being compared to someone you could never match up to? But who knew such a lifestyle could be exhausting? Studying and studying. For the greater part of her childhood, it was all she knew. She had few friends and mostly never had time for them. So it wasn't surprising they gradually drifted apart. It was graduating early from high school that put the final nail in the coffin for friendships. No one could or wanted to keep up with a girl who they would probably never see again in their lifetime.

It was a bittersweet thing really. But Gu Wan doesn't regret it in the slightest.

What are your intentions for this RP; what do you think your Author will seek to accomplish?: My intention is just to have fun while Gu Wan wants to establish a legacy and ever-lasting dynasty.

What people or places are you taking inspiration from?: Wu Zetian & Aegon The Conqueror.

Why did you choose to land where you did?: Because Thailand is beautiful and it has many natural resources!

What vibe should we get from your civilization and its culture, if you seek to establish one?: A scholarly yet beautiful civilization. Its culture would be very based around knowledge.

What are your character's motivations?: Ancient Chinese legends and stories, Gu Wan has always been interested in the past of her homeland.

Name: Lucas 'Luke' Blake

Height and Weight: 5' 11" & 152 lbs
Physical Description: Lucas is a dark-skinned man, of above slightly above-average heights but a thin, almost lanky frame that puts him on the lighter end. He has dark, brown eyes, almost black, and thick, equally dark locks. He wears a ponytail of just a few inches and keeps his facial hair to a whispy trim. His skin has a few pockmarks of childhood trips and tumbles but he's otherwise quite unremarkable.


Prior Profession: College Student
Level of Education - Formal or Informal: Senior in College - Bsc. of Comp Sci.
Physique: Lucas hasn't been actively involved in sports since middle school; he's neither weak nor sickly, but also isn't as fit as he could be. He could get most types of menial labor done but doesn't have the stamina for demanding work. Years of working with technology have diminished his eyesight.

What were you doing prior to falling asleep and awakening in the past?: Review the mock-up for a client's Web Page design.
Description of Personality: Lucas is a relaxed and curious person. He's used to long, mind-numbingly tedious tasks and views himself as a good problem solver, and learner; all critical skills for a programmer such as him. His focus on science and technology throughout high school and university has led to an acquired, methodological, and experiment-focused learning style.

Lucas is friendly, but not particularly talkative unless the conversation shifts to one of his interests.
Where in the world are you landing?: Venice, Northern Italy

Autobiography/Biography: Lucas is an only child but belongs to a large, extended family. His childhood was unremarkable, but he was a surprisingly frequent traveler and migrator; although he hadn't been outside of North America, he's experienced living in many of the major countries in the area and a few of the minor ones; this history of moving around has made him rather adaptable and receptive to new cultures and traditions, but it's also given him a strong sense of cultures and practices he likes and dislikes.

What are your intentions for this RP; what do you think your Author will seek to accomplish?: Creation and sustenance of a 'noble' empire; has admittedly fanciful ideas of an Arthurian-style court and empire.

What people or places are you taking inspiration from?: Crusader Kings III, Europa Universalis IV, Fate/verse, etc.

Why did you chose to land where you did?: Easy access to water and what better place to start a Civilization than smack in Europe?

What vibe should we get from your civilization and its culture, if you seek to establish one?: An Imperialist culture with strong principles of noblesse oblige, liberal ideas, and a sprinkling of meritocracy.

What are your character's motivations?: He's a fan of military history and no stranger to RTS games based around military conflict; furthermore, he believes there are many events that could be mitigated or avoided entirely with his foreknowledge of history...if he can still remember them in 5000 years' time.

What do you wanna see in this RP? What would make it better?: To see how characters act and react to major world events and see whether their actions help, hurt, or throw off the rise of various empires, disease outbreaks, and otherwise! Also very interested in some geo-political intrigue between other OCs.

Height and Weight: 5'4 (161cm); ~130lbs
Physical Description: Short and stocky, Liliana is a true Irish/German mutt that bares characteristics that pulls from more than just those heritages. Thick and wavy brown hair that falls to her hips and the trademark German brow to match. Despite the fierce slant, the chubbiness to her cheeks makes it difficult for her to come across as anything but childlike. Liliana's Irish side shows up in the brown freckles dotting her pale skin and sea blue eyes.

Prior Profession: Full time student, part time grocery stocker
Level of Education - Formal or Informal: Was previously attending college for a nursing license
Physique: Good enough to continuously lift 10lbs boxes over the course of about 8 hours. No running stamina however

Description of Personality: Liliana is a quiet girl that prefers to listen and observe before speaking. She is generally socially awkward and nervous, adding to her silent nature. She deals with quite a bit of anxiety on a day to day basis and is prone to overthinking. She does her best to be polite, caring and thoughtful. Lily thinks of herself as a compassionate individual if a bit timid and slow.
Where in the world are you landing?: North America
Autobiography/Biography: Liliana grew up with her mother and two sisters, moving from place to place every year or so. Her older sister was always best at making friends with her bright and cheery personality. Lily found herself 'sharing' that friend group while they went to high school together. As a result, the brunette never learned to make friends herself and never was able to keep a friend throughout her life. This left her perpetually depressed and lonely, making her revert into herself even more. Even as a college student, she still has difficulties approaching people.
What are your intentions for this RP; what do you think your Author will seek to accomplish?: I'm not sure what my own intentions are. I'm kind of 'go with the flow' type of writer. At first, Liliana will probably try and figure out if there's a way back home. Once she finds friends, her focus will be passing over what knowledge she has on medicine and biology to improve their health. Beyond that, I guess we'll see?
What people or places are you taking inspiration from?: I'm going to be looking over articles to try and get as firm a grasp on the time period as possible but I'm not really sure about where I'm drawing inspiration from. I might update this once I do the research though.
Why did you chose to land where you did?: Because I really like the idea of being around trees and I know quite a bit about what kind of animals and plants I'll see there.
What vibe should we get from your civilization and its culture, if you seek to establish one?: Due to Lily's knowledge on medicine and her focus on that, it'll be showing strongly. Otherwise, I'm not sure yet
What are your character's motivations?: At first, to get home. But as she grows attached to the NPCs and making friends with them, it'll be improving their lives
