Apparently Infamous
THE BEGINNING
The city of Sumaru, a cutting edge metropolis nested in a nice little region where the boundaries of dimensions intersect. It is the seat of the Sumaru Empire, known to some as the "Kamukura Empire". It was originally a Japanese city inside a dying world. It was due to the efforts of two men and their friends, that annihilation was averted. These men were Tatsuya Suou and Izuru Kamukura. However not all was well for this world. The people were still at the mercy of dimensional monsters and phantoms. So they started to rebuild. Although they didn't rebuild Sumaru to be what it once was, they rebuilt it to be what they needed. With the assistance of their many friends and allies from other worlds, the two men began building a city that would survive. Eventually they were finished with the base city. It was fitted with new technology that their greatest minds had come up with. This was a city of the future. The advent of such advanced and powerful technology, along with the encroaching influence of many mage families led to civil unrest. Magic had become commonplace in this world as a result of the rebuilding. Magic users and entities had either assisted or settled down. This brought attention to the next GLARING problem, the large influx of refugees who had either left, were exiled from or simply lost their dimensions. Many voiced their opinion to deport them. All this wealth, magecraft and technology belonged to the people who were originally here. However some spoke out against this, declaring Sumaru was for all people.
THE CHOSEN KING
A council was called together made from Sumaru's most influential factions. The important question was finally brought up, who would lead them? Everyone argued why they or the one they followed should lead them. From citizenship to bloodlines, all kinds of arguments were made to decide who would be worthy of leading the people. Eventually Tatsuya told everyone that Izuru was most suited to lead. He was the one who started the major reconstruction of their universe and he was the one who led the charge against the invaders. Most disagreed that an eighteen year old guy who hadn't finished college yet could rule over what was becoming a country. Disagreements turned to death threats, which eventually became murder. Faced with a Civil War which threatened the very fabric of reality, Izuru decided enough was enough. Drawing a golden sword from a stone pedestal, he swore to become a king. Turning this sword on all who opposed him, he led his forces to many victories. As those he cared for died around him, Izuru desired an end to all the loss suffered by both sides. The several dimensions who supported Sumaru all rebelled against Izuru as well. Crime, death, supply shortages and starvation threatened the safety of his people because of the war. With few allies and many enemies, Izuru looked to the heavens for a solution. It was then he met Dagda, the Celtic God of Wisdom. Dagda offered power to the young ruler in exchange for payment at a later date. No other choice seemed feasible, so Izuru accepted. Their deal turned Izuru into a Godslayer. With his new power, Izuru assisted in the development of new weapons and magical technology. It would be the discovery of the Demon Summoning App that would tip the scales in their favor. With the tap of a screen, demons could be summoned to kill whoever the user wanted. With his forces armed to the teeth and General Tatsuya by his side, Izuru began pushing back against his agressors. He then called upon his closest allies for assistance. Jua'qiin Edwards, Pablo Desanchez, Shei Feng, Phil Phillipe Philips and Tim Philips came to his aid. Each of them were legendary heroes who were regular adventure companions of Izuru.
CONQUERING ZERO
First Izuru took back the Floating Kingdom of Babylonia, which boasted a great Air Force and Ancient Treasures. Led by the sharpshooting skills of Hawkeye Tim and Shei the Galeforce Bullet, Izuru's army was able to destabilize the Babylonian Forces. Reaching their ruler, Izuru dueled her in the skies above her country. Upon defeat of Queen Antyla, Izuru offered her the chance to work with him to make an alliance that would protect their countries. She agreed and joined his group. Next were the Forests of Spirit, overseen by tribes of Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and Beast Folk. With the racial discrimination they had suffered at the hands of mages and ignorant Japanese, they were fed up. Leading his troops to the edge of the forest, Pablo split their men into small squadrons to non-lethally suppress each leader. Calming them down, he extended the hand of friendship to them. Upon hearing of the dream of a Sumaru where EVERYONE is accepted, they agreed to join Izuru. Venturing forth to the land of Remnant, Izuru found it on the brink of a Grimm Apocalypse. Cutting his way through innumerable amounts of their local pests, Izuru found their government in disarray. They had killed their big bad, yet there was a never-ending hoard of monsters destroying everything. Lending his services to them, the combined forces of the Neo Sumaru Army and the Huntsmen managed to overcome the tide of chaos. Joining his crusade as thanks for the help he provided, Izuru now had a sizable army. Next were the Dragons, proud and mighty. They refused to take sides due to their immense power, why should they bother in a mortal war? However Izuru had been adopted into the family of a Dragon Matriarch. Invoking his right to challenge his elders, he nearly killed himself fighting every dragon elder who accepted. Admiring the spirit of such a stupid human, they joined him. Next was the Kingdom of Terrastia. It was a realm with a situation similar to Sumaru, it was in-between the realms of Gods, Demons and Celestials. The former human king, Arthur had been struck down. With his Knights of the Round dead as well, everything was in constant turmoil. Using his power as a Godslayer, Izuru slew the one who caused this, Loki. He then utilized an ancient ritual to temporarily resurrect the Knights of the Round. With a force of powerful knights at his side, he and Jua'qiin battled an entire force of blessed robotic soldiers. Jua'qiin cut through the advanced machines like they were soft scrap. Shorting them out with his lightning magic, the machine army was taken down. Izuru was happy his friends were there to help him. The Land of Eternia was in the midst of using their magic to turn the soldiers they defeated into mindless slaves. Hooking up with the local resistance group, Izuru obliterated their weapons and told them to stand down. In the face of such superior military might, the mages reluctantly agreed. Lastly, the latest addition to Sumaru's allies, Orience had joined in the war to defend their borders. Laying down his arms and pouring his heart and soul out to them. Izuru and Tatsuya implored for their leaders to stop the fighting, to prevent more loss. Touched by the display of sincerity from these two man, they halted their war effort. Izuru had won a war without crushing any of his enemies...
THE GOLDEN AGE OF SOME COOL STUFF
Now holding leadership of Sumaru and its allegiances, Izuru was acknowledged as a king. Marrying his longtime lover Oni, Izuru settled into his new position with alarming speed. This was due to the sheer amount of problems surfacing as a result of the war. Either he adapted to keep his kingdom afloat, or he sinks with it. Expanding the reach of his company into other dimensions, Izuru obtained the funding to begin paying off the debts and losses Sumaru held because of the war. Pouring the rest of his money into scientific and magical research, Izuru hoped to develop new technology with which to revitalize Sumaru. While what they created was high-grade and effective, it also required a lot of power to run. As they still had to worry about monster attacks, an energy crisis could have been the death of them. Tinkering with his motorcycle, Izuru pondered how to solve this issue. That was when he remembered what he powered it with, crystallized mana. Through crystallizing his own magical energy, Izuru had created a clean fuel source for his motorcycle. Drawing up plans in his garage, Izuru showed off his idea to his associates. They would collect mana from magical beings regularly, even from humans who could only manage a little at a time. Creating generators powered by this energy source, Sumaru entered a Golden Age. With the assistance of Shei's corporation, the Feng Group and the scientists who developed the Demon Summoning Program, the cultural level was raised. Hologram phones, laser guns, flying cars and teleports became things of fact, not fiction. Dubbed "ManaTek" due to the mixing of Magic and Technology, Sumaru seemed prosperous. Those who doubted Izuru's leadership became apologetic followers. Thanks to the wide variety of new goods, people wanted to spend their hard earned yen. This sent the economy into overdrive. Everyone was making money, because they made things people wanted. Magical Practices, Scientific Studies, Education, Business and especially Healthcare were improved through the constant funding and development. Soon, what was once a city in a dying world became a futuristic utopian metropolis. Though things wouldn't stay too nice for long
THE DEVIL COMES KNOCKING
Demons began attacking and killing their uses. The app which once helped win a war was killing people in the streets. Placing the entire city on lockdown, Izuru and his allies sought the cause. Unbeknownst to them, a puppet master lurked in the shadows. Lucifer, Prince of Lies aimed to use the people of Sumaru as slaves in his upcoming war with Heaven. Through controlling their demons, he could control their fear. Through controlling their fear, Lucifer could control THEM. At his side was the beautiful Fioren Maxwell, leader of the Maxwell Witch Clan and daughter of Lucifer. Fioren and Izuru were archenemies who had fought since they were fifteen. As a result of the demon attacks, many lost faith in Izuru. It all came to a head when a clan of disgruntled mages attempted a coup. Pablo kicked their asses and threw them out the door. It was here that Dagda appeared again, ready for his payment. Izuru agreed, wanting his debts squared away. Dagda told Izuru to kill Lucifer and Merkabah. Apparently their shadowy conflict had been disrupting the Fairy Forest for a long time. Realizing the actions of Lucifer were the cause of this misery, Izuru was livid. Gearing up with his close friends, Izuru left his wife and children to kill some divine beings. Busting his way into Hell itself, Izuru used his magic sword to stab Lucifer in the genitals. Of course this led him to throw Izuru around until more than a few of his bones were broken. What Lucifer didn't know is that Dagda had sent Izuru with a gift. Spreading a pair of breathtakingly beautiful wings, Izuru beat Lucifer back. Dagda had the fairies steal Lucifer's wings, the ones he lost when he was struck down from Heaven. Now in possession of Izuru, the young king was on the level of an angel. Rallying his forces and striking down any who opposed him, Izuru was met by Fioren in an icy cavern. The two enemies clashed until the cavern collapsed around them. Coating his sword in drops of blood shed by Fioren, Izuru lay curses upon the blade. Fioren came from Lucifer, Fioren would end Lucifer. Battling the Prince of Darkness in a battle of epic proportions, Izuru slew Lucifer... just as Fioren intended. She tried to absorb the power coming from Lucifers corpse. While she was able to steal a small portion of it, most of it vanished.
HEAVEN KNOCKS ON OUR DOOR
Now aware of Lucifer's antics, the people came back to Izuru. Though Izuru was far too focused on Merkabah. He was leading Heavens armies in an attempt to suppress Sumaru from becoming too advanced. Utilizing his new angelic grace, Izuru cut through waves of angels by himself. He didn't kill them, only sent them back to Heaven. It was a message, to stay away from his city. Merkabah only sent more angels to attack the "Arrogant Mortals". Mobilizing his forces, Izuru had his men fuse powerful demons with which to repel the angelic invaders. With their technological prowess and growing power, Sumaru was seen as a threat to Gods Grace. No matter how many times the angels were repelled, more were sent down. The people were beginning to suffer because of the ongoing conflict. Entire neighborhoods were obliterated in fight between angels and demons. They begged their king to end the fighting like he always did. Izuru didn't have an answer for them. How could he stop them from doing this? Groups of devout Christians had begun opposing Izuru for "Stealing the grace of an Angel and waging war on Gods Messengers". With the threat of another Civil War on his hands, Izuru was at a loss for his next move. Fioren Maxwell took advantage of the chaos to plant herself among the faithful as a divine "Prophet". Convincing her followers to allow themselves to be possessed or giving their mana to sustain their heavenly overlords caused the angels to gain a foothold in the city. Merkabah itself descended upon the city and used its divine power to shut off their magic temporarily. Everyone was deprived of any mystical power, using their demons and ManaTek weapons to stay alive. With the people of Sumaru now pushed to the edge of extinction. Izuru was betrayed by a large group of councilmen who agreed to join up with Merkabah. Shocking them unconscious, Jua'qiin gets Izuru out of there. Watching everything he's worked for crumbling around him, Izuru just broke. Fioren Maxwell showed up with her followers and displayed her dominance over Izuru. Fed up with her shit, he tore apart her hypemen and declared war on Merkabah. She disappeared before she could die next.Flying up to Heaven's Vault, he killed Raziel and stole Michael's Lance. With a weapon meant to kill Lucifer, Izuru challenged Merkabah. Stabbing out its eyes and gutting it, Izuru brutalized the corpse. Dagda appeared before him and ended their contract. Merkabah's corpse threatened to break apart the dimensional barriers. This would cause the other dimensions bordering Sumaru to collapse on it. To save everyone, Jua'qiin Edwards sacrifces his life. With one of his closest friends gone, Izuru is saddened. Returning to the throne, Izuru ordered the imprisonment of everyone who attempted to overthrow the government. This was a new side to Izuru that hadn't been seen in a while, an Izuru willing to hurt and lock up.
SATAN TIES-EH?
As the city grew in size, population and culture. Izuru was becoming more and more cold. When it looked like rebellion was stirring, he would order his troops to deal with it immediately. While not public, he did perform executions for criminals who had committed heinous crimes. Those who didn't love him began to FEAR him. With seraphic power and a sword of kings, Izuru Kamukura was a legendary adversary no one wished to challenge. All that kept him from shutting himself off were his friends and family. At this time, Izuru had a few more children with his wife. A dedicated father and sovereign, Izuru's mind was on the future. When he died or abdicated, who would take over? His son? Tatsuya? One of the corrupt officals pushing their agenda? This seemed like the most pressing matter until he was visited again by Dagda. Dagda told him that Lucifer and Merkabah were still alive. The conflict between Heaven and Hell was still going strong, having been moved to Purgatory. Travelling there by himself, Izuru met Cain, son of Abraham. Sitting down with Cain, he showed Izuru that taking a life is something that has to be done for change. Passing on his weapon and teachings to Izuru, Cain fades away. Smelting the bone knife with scraps of metal he finds then quenching it in the blood of dead angels and demons, Izuru forges a sword. A sword made from the First Weapon, marked with Cain's sin. Wielding the blade, Izuru becomes able to kill anything. Stuck in Purgatory, Izuru consumes the flesh of whichever faction marches near him that day. Having consumed the cooked flesh of such mighty beings, Izuru's magical powers expand. Wandering around the terrifying voidscape, Izuru is met by Satan. Satan is the original form of Lucifer and Merkabah, an Arbiter capable of judging and punishing YHVH himself. Satan tells Izuru that YHVH has been behind all the death, hatred and bloodshed he has suffered through. All in the name of sentient creatures praising him and begging for his protection. Knowing he can't kill GOD, Izuru is extremely miffed. Until Satan tells him to forge a new contract with him. As a Godslayer, he can kill Satan and take his power. Accepting, Izuru and Satan duel for three days. In which most of Purgatory is torn up because of the intensity of their fight. Eventually, Izuru calls on the bonds of everyone whose heart he touched to deliver the killing blow to Satan. Congratulating him, Satan passes on, leaving his power and final judgement to Izuru. Taking his cursed sword, he impales himself onto a rock for a week. This is so he hollows himself out of everything save the knowledge he needs. Soon he catches onto something and frees himself. The now empowered Izuru ascends to the plane of YHVH and challenges him for the freedom of all.
DIVINE DRAGON
Now facing YHVH on less than equal terms, Izuru fights the toughest battle of his life. YHVH mocks mankind and all other races, declaring them mere stepping stones to his magnificence. YHVH flexes his celestial power at Izuru, who struggles to keep up. Even if he has become a god, he isn't as powerful as GOD. YHVH molds the power shaved off from each of their exchanges and turns it into a monster. Each of these monsters is sent to a place in Sumaru. With his city and loved ones threatened again, Izuru fights even harder. The Creator God binds Izuru in chains made from his flesh. Forcing him to watch as everything he cares about is obliterated. "All is mine... I am all" said YHVH as he tortured Izuru. He thought himself above everything in creation. When Izuru threatned to build a land for all, it threatened the deity. Only lands and kings HE approved of could change things. YHVH might not have been the version of himself that created Izuru, he will be the one to DESTROY Izuru. All seems lost until the Axiom calls out to Izuru. This being gave all things the ability to see, feel and perceive the world around them. It urges Izuru to not give up, to show it the power of mortals. Recalling everyone and everything he cares about, he turns his love into strength. Breaking free of his bonds and pushing YHVH back, he pities it. YHVH has no one to love or be loved by. Crystallizing his bonds and memories, he becomes a dragon made of the bonds he shares with others. Sinking his teeth into YHVH's neck, the Creator God falls to his knees. Breathing torrents of mystical flame on him, YHVH admits defeat. With what little power he has left, Izuru transfigures his aura into a gun. Pressing it to YHVH's head, Izuru pulls the trigger...
AMAREUS
Now speaking with the Axiom, Izuru was granted YHVH's power. Now a god on pair with YHVH, Izuru went back to his loved ones. Finding his wife dead at the hands of Fioren Maxwell, he banished her to another dimension. Sad and suicidal without Oni, Izuru was slapped back to his senses by his eldest son. Ruling for a decade or two, Izuru eventually left Sumaru in the care of his son, Orion. Travelling dimensions and fathering more children, Izuru became known as Amareus, the Divine Dragon. Most of his children travelled to Sumaru to live there, eventually they had children of their own. Uniting the various worlds and factions, Orion reorganized the realm into an Empire. Emperor Orion the Wise invited his father back to act as an advisor. Having decided to embrace his neutrality, Izuru was unsure. Then Orion offered him pizza, so he came. Years have passed yet Sumaru and its wonders never cease due to the brave actions of many men and women. Nowadays Izuru gives advice to heroes in need, popping up when they require guidance. Tatsuya had become a Prime Minister under Orion, although he's retired now. Pablo became known as Fire Master Homura at his Fire Ninja Academy. Shei and the Feng Group continued to develop tech that is still used today. Tim and Phil returned to their duties. This is how the Silver Age of Sumaru began...
