New Adventure, More RP!

tacere

A+ Daydreamer
I have reached my limit for roleplays at the moment. If you see one you like or would like to work on a new concept with me leave a message here and I shall shoot you a PM whenever I have the room for another RP.

Heyo. It's me, Frost, your friendly neighborhood RPer. After a rather long leave of absence, around half a year to be exact, I'm back, and hopefully I'm also better than ever.

Since it's been so long I figure I need to get a running start in order to help me dive back into this world of creativity and immerse myself into it in the same levels I once was. I'm still an avid reader and writer and like to think I have improved over the past months.

I do have some guidelines I go by whenever RPing with another person. I can be pretty lax and understanding so even if you don't think you quite fit the bill, just ask and maybe we can work something out.

One thing that I ask is that you have at least a basic grasp on grammar, punctuation, and that you use proper capitalization. I make one or two mistakes regularly, but my posts aren't absolutely littered with them. I don't expect you to be perfect, just to be averagely human, and at least to try.

Another thing I request is that you help me create the world in which we RP in. Don't just focus on our characters interactions. Focus on their own individual lives, their friends, their jobs. What political views do they have? Are they active within the community? What do they value? What are their morals? I want to read your characters thoughts, their motivations. It helps the both of us better understand and further plan the continuing plot if we haven't got it all figured out already.

The length of your replies isn't as important, just please, refrain from the one liners. You don't have to go crazy on the detail but some is always nice. We should share the burden of pushing the story along, so you should be making things happen too. The creation and exchanging of ideas is a beautiful thing that RP partners should be sharing. My replies can be anywhere from one to eight paragraphs, maybe even more. I usually just try to match the length of what I am given.

Now, I'm only looking to start, maybe two or three RP's at the moment, seeing as with restrictions in time due to my schedule I won't be able to handle any more than that at the moment, so it is unfortunately a first come first serve sort of deal here. If you see something you really want to do, yet my quota for RP's has been filled, let me know, and in a week or two if something doesn't pan out you and I can start on whatever it is you so eagerly discovered here.

I can play as a male or female but prefer going with the female role since it's where most of my experiences lie. It's always good to get out of ones comfort zone however so it won't take too much persuading to get me to play as a male. Most of my RP's are MxF and that's what I'll be sticking with for now if romance does happen to be a factor in the RP, since it very well may not be.

Now here are my ideas so far. They're rough and very unrefined, my apologies for that. Mostly they're old RP ideas that never took off, the list of which I've scrapped together from various places.

Scales: In this world, everything is about the checks and balances. Twenty four hours after a person is born, a symbol appears onto the child's wrist, a single word that defines who they are, their personality, for the rest of their life. Maybe the word is brave, or shy, maybe it's lost, or searching. Maybe the word is hero, maybe it's villain. It could be anything. The style of that word, however, defines that persons destiny. If the word is scrawled in a black, typewriter looking script, that person is destined to be, "evil." If it's in a black, fluid, cursive, that person is destined to be, "good." There must always be an even balance of good and evil, give or take a few hundred thousand people. Any more than that and the governments commit mass killings to get things under control. These killings are randomized by a machine, designed to keep everything in check so that one force may never fully triumph over the other. Our two characters, could be rebels, trying to escape the words on their wrists and it's rule over their lives, trying to destroy their dystopian society in which everyone has a place, a purpose in keeping balance, or they could be two outcasts, born without words, left out, to find themselves on their own in a world that acts like they're the plague. They're one of the few mysteries left in a world that supposedly has everything figure out.

Requiem: In this RP, our characters are both recently dead. Upon waking up in a coffin they would've floated upwards until they were above ground, landing lightly upon the surface of the earth but making no impression upon it. Looking down at their feet they would find they stand upon a fresh patch of dirt and a tombstone with their name on it. The characters remember their names, they remember faces, words. Their personalities are still intact, from their favorite color right down to the insult they use most often. What neither would remember, is anything at all about their actual lives themselves, and why they were stuck, as ghosts, with limited abilities they can use to affect the physical plain, and no way to he's up or down to whatever afterlife it is they believe in. The characters would meet in that cemetery, this beginning their lively, well ghostly, adventure to discover more about what had been their lives, what happened to them, and what comes next.

Mystical: This RP would be a take off of the movie Maleficent. If you have not seen it I do not recommend you partake in this particular RP. The main thing we'd be taking from the movie is the setting, and culture of the being in the movie. One character would be a fairy, one, a human, both forging an unlikely friendship or romance, or maybe even only a necessary acquaintanceship in order to survive, while also dealing with the fear and hate of the human society that threatens to destroy them both for even interacting with one another. Maybe things might even escalate. Are the two characters the only ones who can keep the peace and prevent a war between the magical creatures and the humans? Who knows?

Panacea: It's the future, there's tons of pollution, flying cars, and oh, did I mention that scientists can now bring back the dead, at the cost of an arm and a leg, and lots more, and that cryogenics is a viable thing? Character A, has been frozen, for five hundred years. They had been sick with cancer and dying and so they were stored away with their last dying breath in upped that future technologies could save them. The day had come, and despite Character A having no money, no family, no anything in this future day and age, they still have their memories, which are invaluable to historians. Two wars have ravaged the earth over the passing of years, the first of which, was going on when Character A was frozen. The historical foundation Character B worked for funded Character A's return to life, and are now forcing Character A to repay their debt by being the subject of their research and interviews for a currently unmeasurable amount of time. Being a historian, Character B is the one assigned to research and question Character A, but also to take care of said character and help them adjust to the future. As a result they must live together. This is that struggle. Can learning from the past really prevent it from repeating? Or is knowledge a dark and dangerous thing? Were some things meant to stay in the past? Find out.

Bloodlust: Vampires exist, except they can walk around in broad daylight, eat, drink, even reproduce. They're just like regular people except that they live forever and have to drink fresh human blood, right from the source, once a week to survive. One of the characters is one of these vampires. The other is human, who grew up in a family of hunters but decided to pursue a more normal life. The human discovers they're dying, a year left at the most, and in fear of death they make a decision. The characters meet, things escalate. Will one save the other with a bite? Or will the other's life end after an eventful year spent together as friends or possibly romantic interests?

That's about all I've got at the moment. I don't bite. Leave me a message if you're interested or you have your own ideas. I look forward to hearing from you.

I like the blood lust one. But some of the others weren't that great, so here is a weird comic.
