"Very good." Mensa mumbled.
He had been residing his book and Listening at the same time.
Grabbing the bookmark, he put it into the place where he'd left off, and shut the book.
He kicked back in his seat.
Looking over at Kiyoshi, he gave a slight wave and a smile.
Well, Mensa was happy who he got.
Better than anyone else, especially that Yuno.
He didn't understand her attitude very well; being a prick ain't an improving quality.

After what felt like hours, Oshiriki reached the end of his list. Every Genin and Chunin had finally been assigned to their Team Captains, but what was this? Yukimuro had his hand in the air? He hadn't anticipated this.

"Yes, what is it Yuki?" he asked.

Kiyoshi glanced at Yuki. What in the world was he doing?

Yuki spoke louder than he ever had, "What exactly decides who are our teammates Lord Mosukage?" He hoped he wasn't asking a stupid question but he wanted to know why he was paired with his teammates

The Mosukage shut his eyes. One of the main reasons for pairing Yukimuro on this team was because of his Crystal Release Kekkei Genkai, he'd admit, but another main reason was that Akatoshi insisted on being useful to the village, and would even go off on his own to protect it without any arms. At least this way, paired with Chunin who already know how to protect themselves, they could lend a helping hand, no pun intended.

"When I assign Genin and Chunin to a specific Team Leader, I look at three things: Academy scores, combat ability, and personality. All three of you scored about the same on the tests, surprisingly, and all three of you matched up pretty evenly when it came to combat ability. The only thing that was different about you three was your," Oshiriki cleared his throat, looking to Yuno, "personalities. However, understand when I say I've put as much trust into Akatoshi in keeping you all in check as I have the three of you for looking out for him."

"Hey!" Akatoshi shouted, his eyes engulfed in a silly rage, "I can take care of myself, you know! I'm only with these brats because you made me-"
His mossy hand had slammed against the table's edge, cutting it down the middle to the wrist. A wave of weakness rushed over Akatoshi and he shut his mouth quickly, withdrawing his arm into his cloak to let it heal. Mikuza looked over to him, a sorrow-filled frown under his mask.

Kimiko looks at her two teammates and she smiles slightly, however when she looks at her sensei she glares seeing the gift baskets, what was up with that guy "Hey guys. You'll protect me from the fangirling sensei right?" she whispers to them, half joking, she'd much rather be paired with Yuno then have that guy, he looks overly happy about it, not to mention the gift baskets and the ramen in a scroll, her father was going to love this news, he doesn't like Gin at all.

Yuki had to make do with what he had, "I suppose it could be worse" he mumbled. Yuki started playing with his crystal wondering if this was really a wise decision, who even was his partner, and the other might kill him before any enemy did. He guessed that he would have to prove he is strong to them before they put him into the back of the group. He started writing another note that he would give to the red head later on. Oh and our Sensei... he seems stubborn and hard to work with.

Fangirling Sensei? What's she talking about? Kiyoshi looked over to Gin, still trying to figure out who he was. Kiyoshi then noticed the baskets of dango. His heart went aflutter as he saw them, packed with the yummy, sweet sweet sticks of food. As if in a trance, he swayed side to side slowly. "I dunno, he doesn't seem that bad," he said, drooling.

Yuki looked over to his new sensei. "What is the thing with his arm" Yuki wondered in his mind. We have a good chance at winning, a taijutsu specialist, me using genjutsu and ninjutsu, and the sensei doing whatever a sensei does. When will we start training was the main thought going through his head, he wanted to prove himself and show he shouldn't be pushed around. Yuki gave a light hearted smile to his sensei.

The hell's he doing, looking at me like that? Akatoshi unknowingly extended his bottom lip past his top, making a pouting face, and turning away from Yuki.

"Now, everyone, I'd like you all to go with your new teams and get to know each other. No missions for a week or so, not until you are acquainted with each other's styles and flaws. Good luck everyone! The future of the Moss rests in your hands!" announced Oshiriki, standing up from his seat at the long table with the Jounin Sensei.

Yuki stood up, "what was that about?" he thought to himself. He got up to go with his new team and finally get some action, sliding the note to the red head before he left, it said: "Good luck, looks like i drew a bad pick huh? I hope I didn't ruin your day earlier but I hope we can get along and even work together on missions later on."

Kiyoshi grabbed the paper with the hurriedly written words and read it, smiling at Yuki with an open mouth and a twinkle in his eye. This day was great! He'd made three friends in the span of a few hours! Well, four if you counted Yuno, and Kiyoshi most definitely counted Yuno (at the very least she was a work-in-progress on the "getting them to like me" list). Kiyoshi stood up and made his way over to Gin, his new Sensei, making sure not to cut anybody off or get in anybody's way.

Akatoshi stood up and made his way to the exit when he noticed the Uzumaki from earlier. That blade he carried with him, the Fire Style Chakra he possessed... there was no way He could look him in the eyes after what Akatoshi had done five years ago. There was no forgiving him for it. Kiyoshi didn't know, and, honestly, it was probably better that way. That sword of his carried a lot of value -- if not to Kiyoshi, then to Akatoshi.

He slinked out of the room, waiting in the hall for his students.

Yuno Matsuda

Yuno snorted and crossed her muscular arms.
“Psh, you hit the fucking lottery when you got me on your team.” She sneered , then her eyes narrowed at her new sensei.
“although we probably could do without the crip-ow!”
Her insult was broken off by a sharp Yelp as Gin smacked the back of her head with a small spark of lightning.
“heyyy, you best behave you Lil demon~ or no more Takayuki!” He sang, pink eyes slightly narrowed as he beamed at her.
Scowling, Yuno grumbled angrily before flick a deep brown curly lock of hair behind her ear.
“Whatever freak” she muttered.

Gin Matsuda

after admonishing his cousin for her rude behavior
‘Again’ he thought exasperated
He eagerly lunges forward to snatch his Genin up in a a large bear hug, practically engulfing them in his baggy clothes. First he snatched up the little uzumaki and squeezed him before tucking him in his arm and reaching for his other two.
“Hello my precious little smoochie puffs~ as Hosukage has said , I am your new beloved sensei~ and to get to know each other we’re gonna go beat the shit out of each other!” He cheered, swinging them back and forth

Kimiko glares at Gin and she hits him with her elbow when he hugs her "Oh yeah, my dad's gonna love this news" she says walking off, tossing the scroll to Gin "And don't bother frying to bribe me with food you fangirling bastard" she adds, she had to get her dual blades. She smiles seeing her father walk over "Dad! Are you staying for a while longer?" she asks "Afraid not kiddo, just came to see if you had a good team" the shinobi says, but his face goes blank when he sees Gin "And you" he says "If my daughter has one complaint I will go to the Mosukage, is that clear?" he asks, handing Kimiko a lunch package and a scroll containing her swords "Dinner's in the fridge" "Thanks dad" she says giving him a hug before slowly walking back to her team and their fangirling sensei.

Before Kiyoshi had realized Gin was in the air, he had already been swooped up and tucked under his arm. Giggling lightheartedly, he looked at Gin, then introduced himself.

"I'm Kiyoshi, it's nice to meet you too Sensei!"
Then Kiyoshi noticed Kimiko's father and waved at him.

Oshiriki put his head against his hand, propped up by his elbow which was resting on the table. Is he already making a fool of himself, and with the girl's father?

He chuckled. Either way, he had faith in Gin's ability to teach his Genin that he wanted so badly. At the very least, he'd protect them. He did care, in his own weird little way after all.

Gin Matsuda

Gin stumbled back in shock clutching his chest. Did-did he hear that right? No...surely not...such mean words wouldn’t come from his own precious little angels right?? Right?!
that was of course when her father stepped forward.
Oh! He’s probably been turning my small little buttons against me!!
He cried internally. Pouting he turned away and squeezed the Uzumaki to his chest tighter.
“dunno what you mean...they all love me.”
He sulked. Absent mindedly petting the hair of his other Genin Mensa.
“All righty little lamb chops~ too the training grounds we’ll get to know each other over dinner later my treat~”

Yuno Matsuda

Yuno rolled her eyes at her cousin and silently thanked whatever deity was out there that she hasn’t actually been on his team. She had to deal with him and his freakishness enough at home. Although...
“Watch your mouth loser, he’s still ten times better than you’ll ever be, even if is a freak. You have nothing on our clan” she hissed. Narrowing her eyes before turning up her noise at her cousins sigh and whining about how she was so mean to his Genin. Ignoring him and rolling her shoulders she sent a stern glare at the red head in her cousins grasp before it transformed into a smirk.
“See you Layer if your still alive fire-crotch” she snickered. Then, head held high and shoulders back, walked out the room to meet her sensei in the hallway

Had Yuki seen that correctly? First the red head's sensei was in one spot then the next, it may have been the fastest thing he had ever seen. He returned a smile to Kiyoshi and moved over to go toward the hallway, but as he moved Gin was hit in the stomach. Why would someone do that to their squad leader, it would only create tension.

Finally Yuki made it into the hallway where he waited for his teammates and his sensei.

Kiyoshi waved to Yuno as he watched her walk away, and held onto Gin as he clutched him to his chest. The training ground? I guess I could use a little early training, maybe I wouldn't have to when I went home!

"Over here." Called Akatoshi, leaning against the wall with a foot against it and his eyes closed. "Yukimuro. Yuno. I don't know where the other brat is, and honestly I don't care. I didn't sign up to train you brats, so I hope you can do it yourselves. I'll contact you when the Mosukage has orders or a mission, don't come to me otherwise." Akatoshi stood up normally and walked down the hall a bit.

"Sir, what about training, we can't get much better with our current training equipment, or i can't at least. we will be under prepared for a mission." Yuki spoke up, wanting to actually do something aside from wait.

Akatoshi looked over his shoulder to the Crystal Type user. Sir? SIR? At least one of them knows how to address their Sensei. However, I suppose the kid's right. Maybe if I keep pushing him...

"Then, I don't know, train with the Matsuda brat or something? I can't keep an eye on you every day; you're both responsible Chunin of the Moss," said Akatoshi, a smug look on his face. He knew exactly what he was doing.

So he wants to feel respected? "Sir with all do respect that won't do much, Us training with each other would not teach us much. We would need a jounin who has seen real fights and has been through a lot to teach us well. I want to support the moss but I need training to be able to." Yuki said hoping to get the sensei on his side and maybe even get some training out of it

Yuno Matsuda

a brief look of shock slapped her in the face ather Jounin sensei blantently deciding to not teach them. Just who the hell did this piece of forestry think he was?!
“Excuse me! What kind of sorry excuse for half a shinobi are you!?”
She yelled. Cheeks burning with anger as she clenched her fists
“Don’t have time?! What the hell else would you be doing? Trying to grow a better arm? Your already useless the least you could do would be to pass on some knowledge if nothing else ! Aren’t you supposed to have once been apart of air or something?!”
Her voice steadily rose with each sentence until she was practically screaming at her new sensei.

"We would need a Jounin who has seen real fights and has been through a lot to teach us well."
"Aren't you supposed to have once been apart of air or something?"

Thinking back to the Air wasn't an easy task for Akatoshi. the Yago-Shimu-Aka trio had fallen alongside the Air -- all except for the Aka. Real fights, like against the man who killed the two men his Clan appointed him to fight with. The two men -- Shimushi Uzumaki and Yago Yamakano -- who he had failed to protect. Useless. Half a Shinobi. He had called himself worse than this so many times. Closing his eyes to repress as much as he could, he turned to the two.

"Have some respect. You'd learn more from each other than you could ever learn from me."

Akatoshi walked past them and didn't stop until he had turned the corner. As other Shinobi turned the corner, they couldn't see him. It was like he had disappeared.

Yuno Matsuda

growling angrily she shouted obscenities after the man.
“I don’t respect cowards you Weed!! “
She screamed after him. Ignoring the burn of anger in her skin and the weird looks the other shinobi shot her.
“if you think this is over you better damn well think again!”
Glaring angrily with burning mismatched eyes, she spun around to her teammate.
“We are not letting him get away with this! So just-just ugh! Stupid....freak....loser!”
She continued to mutter angry curses as she came up with a plan to wrangle her sensei into submission. If there was one trait she shared with her cousin, it was their unwavering persistence.
