Lilian

The Queen Of Nothing.
Hi! Lilian here. I'm relatively new to the whole rp creation shabob, but thought I'd give it a try. I'd appreciate any comments, suggestions (on things to add/delete), and whether you'd be interested in such a rp!

I have a small criticism: You should change the name of the unmodified role from "inferior" to something more positive like "Purestrain" or "Unaltered" -- I don't think people will want to sign up for the role if it means they'll be by title, if not definition, inferior. I mean, doubtless they would be inferior to the Elite lacking nanotechnology, but maybe they'd have perks or traits or their own advantages given to them so they wouldn't have to be defined as such. That might make the role more enticing.

Other than that I think it's a beautiful setup for a great RP with a "battle royale" theme. <3

The premise reminds me of a lot of 2010s YA novels (i.e. Divergent, Hunger Games, Uglies) along with 3% and a bit of In Time. I think there's definitely an audience for this type of roleplay but I'm left with a two questions:

1. How did immortality become accessible enough to cause an overpopulation crisis? Assuming that the nanites are only available to the elite (let's say, people in the 1%), there would have had to have been a lot of children (even assuming this has been going on for centuries).
2. What's the purpose of allowing commoners to participate in these games when competition could be limited to existing dynasties/the ruling class? I understand that thematically, it gives the illusion of fairness despite The Elite having an inherent advantage but from a practical standpoint I'm not seeing it. Unless there was a massive upheaval in government, I don't see why lawmakers wouldn't continue keeping the lower class trapped in a cycle of poverty and mortality.

I wondered the same thing myself, Steve Jobs Steve Jobs .

Though I think thematically it could be worked into the premise if normal birth and reproduction was finally mandated to stop and everyone was sterilized by their nanites -- your right to procreate would be tied to your achievement in the games. Making Birth and family meritocritous would open it to the unaltered (new blood) or the elite that stand above the rest.
