Nathan Cross
Titles: Hound of Hell
Race: Werewolf
House/Pack: Originally none, but currently Ethelwolf
Gender: Male
Orientation: Bisexual
Age: 78
Nature: Chameleon and Predator
Personality:
Nathan is a very simple man, he won't fret over small things like rain or loud children crying next to him. He prides himself on having the ability to cruise through life without too many issues and is able to adjust to almost any situation presented to him. One of the few things he actually cares about is his outfit, since Nathan needs to keep his clothes clean and aesthetically pleasing at all times. There are few things that can attract Nathan's attention, but one of those is definitely the prospect of hooking up with people. While he's not terribly promiscuous, he does enjoy a good time and will certainly not decline anyone who catches his eye.
The one thing in this entire world that Nathan loves to do is killing. Not to be mistaken with random and malicious murder, but he's bordering on that with how many people he has killed in his time and how brutally he's killed them. Nathan selects his targets pretty randomly, and some even go after him and meet their untimely demise. The only thing that separates Nathan from a common murderer is the fact that Nathan only kills what he intends on eating or whatever attacks him, but he often eats too much. It should be mentioned that Nathan loves lying and appreciates good liars.
History:
Nathan was born into a dysfunctional family, where his mother ran off days after his birth leaving Nathan alone with his single father. He led a very normal life for the first 15 years of his life and did normal things like going to school, making friends, etc.. It was at this age that his father fell ill and eventually succumbed to a rare form of cancer that had no available treatment at that time. He had managed to live on his own for a few years and even managed to finish his pre-college education. Everything changed, however, when he met a girl called Joanna on his way to college. They hit it off rather well and even started some kind of relationship together when Nathan turned 23.
Just six months later Nathan woke up in the middle of the night to a massive wolf-like figure standing in front of the bed. Before he could do or say anything, the figure lunged forward and bit Nathan's shoulder, causing him to bleed profusely and breaking his shoulder in the process. The rush of pain and emotions were simply too much to handle and Nathan quickly passed out after the event. Instead of waking up in the afterlife to news that he'd been eaten alive by a monster, he woke up back in the bed with Joanna sitting next to him.
For a few seconds he assumed that everything he had seen was a dream, but that thought faded as he felt a stinging pain in his shoulder. As soon as Joanna noticed that Nathan was awake, she moved in to comfort him a little. After a very long conversation and a lot of questions, Nathan found out that Joanna was the werewolf who bit him earlier than night. It was a very tough thing for him to accept, but Nathan truly felt like he loved her so he chose to remain with her.
Over the next month or so, in preparation for the next full moon, Nathan was allowed to meet Joanna's pack and she was tasked with preparing Nathan for his transformation. It was through this process that Nathan found out that Joanna was actually over 60 years old but was kept young due to the immortality granted by her werewolf blood. As the moon approached, Nathan's preparations got more intense and he began to learn about hunters and vampires and the long history between the two species and their hatred for each other.
The transformation itself was an experience that Nathan couldn't, and still can't, explain in words. It was a feeling of power and raw, animalistic anger that overtook him completely. Luckily for him, though, the pack had set up a night club for all the werewolves to get a good meal off of the unsuspecting humans. To say that night was a massacre or an incredibly sadistic bloodbath would be an understatement, seeing as how blood and body parts covered almost every inch of the nightclub's interior. Authorities ended up shutting down the club, but since the werewolves had no real ties with the actual owner of the club, she was sent to serve a life sentence while the pack went scot-free.
To most people, an experience like that would be scarring, but to Nathan it was exhilarating. It created a feeling of anger and pure violence within him that he never thought he was capable of. Over the following five years, the pack would continue its existence, hunting in the night and getting into the odd fight with another pack. It all came to a head when one of the members of the pack decided to try and sire a mortal man who'd made friends with various members without knowing their secret. It was because of this friendship that the alpha accepted him in before he was even sired. As it turned out, that was the last mistake the pack would ever make.
The man was actually a hunter who operated with a small, but powerful, group of like-minded individuals in an endless quest to purge the world of creatures such as werewolves. Everyone in the pack was slaughtered, save for Nathan and two sisters who ended up running off and attempting to start their own pack. Only one thing lived within Nathan, and that thing was the desire for revenge. He desired revenge, not for the pack, but for Joanna, who's body he found torn into several pieces near the deceased alpha.
It took over 10 years of hard training in several martial arts and many weapon disciplines for Nathan to finally muster up the courage to face the man who betrayed the pack. As much as it pained him, his lack of control over his transformation meant that it was an unreliable source of power, which is why he took it upon himself to kill the traitor without transforming. That night was easily the best night of his life, because not only had he found his man, but he also found and slaughtered two others who had participated in the killing of his pack.
With nothing but satisfaction within him, Nathan decided not to pursue the other culprits, and instead decided to devote himself to his new hobby. Nathan would spend the next few decades going around and killing many humans and a good number of vampires, both in wolf and human form. His dealings with other people allowed him to develop an ability to lie to any mortal and never get caught, which greatly aided him in his endeavors. This habit of killing earned him the title of "Hound of Hell", as some superstitious people thought he was sent from hell to collect souls for the devil. Today, Nathan continues his existance in secret, only striking in the shadows.
