(TLDR at the bottom) In the Warring States Period of the Naruto universe it is every clan for itself. In a constantly shifting landscape of political alliances and betrayal, the only people you can trust are blood relatives, the members of your clan, and as the leader of the clan it is your responsibility to ensure the clan's survival. But in these dark times even your own clan might betray you, perhaps to claim leadership of the Clan, or for a myriad of other reasons. So it is in this world of constant warfare and betrayal where you find yourself, the most brutal and Darwinian series of conflict known to the Naruto-verse, where only the strongest survive, and most die before they reach maturity. The ones that survive become some of the most legendary Ninja in history. The conflict is so deadly that even the mightiest of Clans can be wiped from existence through sheer attrition or an unforeseen defeat, some such clans include the once mighty Uchiha, Uzumaki, Senju, and Hyuga. In such a chaotic and violent time, with a clan's position constantly in flux, it remains to be seen who will rise to the top. Perhaps it is finally the time when your clan will seize control and even make it last.
(TLDR: Warring States Naruto is cool, You are leader of your own clan, Naruto Ninja = Feudal Samurai Clans, the OP Clans are dead, and do you guys want to conquer the world?)

YAY! I've got interest! I will now create a character sheet thingamajig and all the rest of the stuff!

I'm interested is there a specific clan creqtion sheet or what?
I usually create those things after I have garnered sufficient interest in the interest check. Because I have had way too many awesome Ideas that I put tons of effort into fall flat on their face due to lack of interest and then had to be abandoned in favor of another more popular idea.

I think I'd be game for this! I'm not entirely clear on the clan idea, though. Does each person create their own clan? Or can you join existing clans (other members) and fight with them?

If it's one person per clan, would there be some statistics to look for? Like would your clan's population, military might, moral compass, resources, etc. be recorded and important to the story?

Every player has their own Clan that they must manage, however you can easily ally yourself with any other player/clan you want. As for how your clan is managed, I'm actually going to do something a bit more unusual and rather than having statistics for the clan as a whole, ala most nation building RP's I'm going to have statistics for each Squad/Nuclear Family in your clan. It might be a bit more Micro, but we'll see how it goes. (I was thinking of doing each individual member but figured that at that point We were Really getting into the Micro) So rather than the Hojo Clan as a whole having 5 Pop and 5 Military, it will be Nobunaga Hojo and his family have 3 Pop and 2 Military while Hattori Hojo and his family have 2 Pop and 3 Military but together it adds up to 5 Pop and 5 Military. Do you kind of get the idea?

Oh yah, also one of those statistics is Loyalty. Food for thought. (Oh and the idea of people having a moral compass in this time period is honestly funny to me. Morals go straight out the window when survival is on the line.)

I'd say I have some interest in this, definitely wanna see how it pans out. Keep us posted with whatever you get on with!

Kk, today is my day off so right now I am creating a character application page. I'm just struggling to come up with a streamlined but still detailed system for keeping track of your clan. Basically, which stats are important, and which stats are unnecessary. Because I want you to have a lot of control and customization for your clan but I don't want it to get bogged down in Micromanagement and a fight between who has the biggest stats. I want to reward players for creative role-playing and strategic thinking over who is best at min-max, but I also want there to be some sort of objectivity to determine the outcome of conflicts so it doesn't cause too many problems.

I love how you explained that. Rewarding creativity and strategy is a fantastic method, not to say that min-maxing is bad. But it's less fun to see someone take the safest, most boring routes each time. I'm rather excited, to be frank! I might have to create a clan.

Ok, so far I've got most of the basic outline, but it will have to be fine-tuned sometime tomorrow.

There is plenty of space, however I am still super busy at work and only have a few hours to work on it during the week, so I might not be done with the application page until my next day off.
