Rules in lore thread.
So here's a simple rundown of what the first arch is and what the RP is as a whole.
The first arch starts off with the second leg of the Chunin Exam, the forest of death. We will follow the canon rules where each team needs both scrolls, but only starts with one. Everything goes, and although directly killing opponents is frowned upon, if they refuse to submit, it's fair game.
We will form squads of three, selection will be random unless requests are made.
If there is a team with two people, or an odd person out, then we can have a couple people volunteer for second characters or I can make one myself.
All player characters are Leaf ninja.
The story grows in complexity but off the start it's basically a Naruto Battle Royale. Enemy squads, wild beasts, traps and other natural hazards will exist on a map that I provide at the start of the exam, however none of you will know what lies in each square of the map.... it can be a squad of taijutsu specialists from the Hidden Stone or genjutsu users from the Hidden Mist, or a massive centipede with venomous fangs and a bitter disposition, or perhaps you run into the trap of an enemy squad and need to run for your lives from the fiery release of paper bombs.
After each time skip, skill points will be given to everyone for character upgrades. The hope being that after even the first arch, you'll see real, tangible growth, and God willing if we somehow make it far enough, our characters do have the capability to become S rank fighters (Kage/Akatsuki/Jonin+ etc). This RP is as much about who our characters are as who they'll become.
The overall story has elements of canon, but because our characters replace many ofthe canon characters, and because a rehash of the actual story would be very limiting, the story will be mostly organic. Suffice it to say that it should be interesting and entertaining with ample opportunity for combat.
Combat is a big thing in this RP. It's based on a battle manga/anime, so expect a lot of combat with slice of life/peacefully interaction being a respite between combat heavy arches.
