~ Naruto: Light in the Darkness ~
Kyogen closed his eyes for a minute as the cafe 'closed down', and the real work would soon begin. Rain pattered against the windows as the last customer was off and as the last plates were put aside. Honestly sometimes Kyogen preferred their front to their actual mission, but still, his sword thirsted for those that made him a missing nin, and he was sure so many of the young people he saved felt similar. He could at least let them stay ninja and to get stronger. Maybe strong enough to one day complete his dream. Sure, he couldn't always do it safely, but being a ninja wasn't safe in the first place. At least in the confines of these walls they had somewhere to call home. Rubbing the bridge of his nose, he waited for a few of them to gather around him for the latest missions.
Finally he spoke, trusting anyone who wanted a mission was there, and anyone curious was as well.
"Alright, listen up. I've got a few particularly dangerous missions to do, no one's requested, but its in our best interest. Funds are low around here, and hunter-nin high. I have a solution to both.
The first, if any of you are from the Leaf, you might have heard of Hiroshi Kohaku. He's a nobleman and mayor who with particularly deep pockets. He's obsessed with order in his city. He's been particularly generous lately, and has donated to the Daimyo to increase the number of hunter-nin and general ninja in the area west of the Land of Fire. The money's a problem. We're going to rob him for ourselves, and shut down his town's main income for a bit, the gold mind. Blow up the mine, rob as much of the gold in it as you can. I'll provide you with some sealing scrolls. Fuuka, would you mind leading this one? We NEED this one to succeed, so I'll leave it in your hands. I know it might not sit well with some of you, but surviving means doing what you have to.
The second, I hate hunter nin being around here, so I try to keep it clean. I can't save everyone, but that means I sometimes have to get... a bit nasty. A few puppeteers ran off with a prototype from the Sand. Naturally they fled East, because I can't have nice things. They recently have taken over a small town to the Northwest. The worst case scenario is the hunter nin defeat them, and a few run off, causing them to snoop around. I can't let hunter nin snoop around here for obvious reason. This is a risky mission too, but I need some of you to rescue to the village. It doesn't matter how. Kill them, scare them, make them further north, I don't care. Just don't let them end up running this direction. They shouldn't be too strong, but they literally have hundreds of hostages. How much that matters I'll leave up to you. Jun, you can call the shots for this one."
Kyogen finally stopped rubbing his eyes, opening them as he walked towards a supply closet.
"Remember to take your uniforms. A robe and mask if you are new. Helps identify us as Tsumi and stops people seeing a dojutsu or the like. More infamy we get as Tsumi, more jobs I might be able to collect. Means better pay, which means we can live easier. One day I hope we'll be enough of a threat to be left alone, but til then cover is the best defense we can take. Good luck, guys. Please come back safe. I know I'm not giving you the easiest of jobs right now, but I trust you won't make them any harder than they have to be. I'll be downstairs if you need anything."
Kyogen started off for downstairs, to the caves. He had to prepare himself for his own missions. He'd heard many rumors around, and that generally meant missing nin he could pick up. It was a little bit worrying to leave dangerous missions with some of the newer people here, but such was the life of a missing nin. Fuuka and Jun were.... interesting picks as leaders. Kyogen already felt his stomach doing leaps. They'd be fine... probably.
