Personality: Date is a very stoic individual and keeps his emotions channeled. He is methodical and confident in his skills even in the face of an uphill battle. Date is the type to be inches a way from death without a doubt in his mind he can still win. He is a resolved man prepared to give his life for the Emperor and world peace.

History: Date is originally from the Land of Lightning. He served under one of the Daimyo and isn’t from a major samurai clan. He has been training and fighting since he was young boy. Early on he understood the kind of disadvantage he is at fighting against the samurai from Kekkei Genkai possessing clans or privy to other truly special techniques. Date chose to refine his own swordsmanship skill, the samurai sabre technique, and body flicker technique.
What drew him to the Emperor is the constant fighting and death.Date has been fighting all of his life with no end in sight. Alliances and treaties are too often disregarded in the name of greed. The current Shogun of all the nations are to blame. The world will not know peace until it knows one true master. The Emperor offers peace even if it’s through war his message is just.

Abilities: Date is solid is the basics such as chakra flow, running on surfaces, and genjutsu release. He is a master of the Samurai Sabre Technique and the Body Flicker Technique which he further enhances with lightning release. Date uses Iaido as his go to before getting serious. Date using bursts and surges of chakra to enhance his iaido techniques to increase the speed of his quick draws. Besides that the fundamentals in his swordsmanship are to the point in which he is one of the most skilled of his generation. Being skilled only means so much compared to the might of other factors.


Signature Techniques

• Lightning Release, Samurai Sabre Technique: This is actually a derivative of his Samurai Sabre Technique. He creates an entire second blade composed of lightning release chakra. His prowess is so great with the samurai sabre technique that he can even freely manipulate the arc of lightning connecting the two swords
• Lightning Dance Flower: He unleashes a devastating series of lightning slash projections. They combine to make a flower shape construct before hitting their target.
• Lightning Dance Wing: The chakra around the blades assume the shape of avian wings before he flys and attacks his target(s) with devastating high velocity strike.

Equipment: A Black Bladed Chokuto Chakra Blade

Weaknesses:

• No Kekkei Genkai
• Wind Chakra, if he encounters a significant hardship with having his techniques redirected back at him he has to drop his chakra nature in samurai sabre technique

Personality: Miyoko is a nonchalant, typically indifferent, and humorous character. He passes the vast majority of his time lounging, wondering, sleeping, or training. He's also cool and confident. He likes to just take things as they come rather than worrying about what could happen. It is rare for Miyoko to get angry or raise his voice. It's also rare for him to lose his cool under stress. With his very-laid back and easygoing personality, Miyoko is considered a pretty chill person.

History: Miyoko is a native of Konohagakure. As a child, he trained a lot and practiced honing his skills. With his clan's kekkei genkai and natural skill, he easily became a formidable samurai. Miyoko mainly focused on training his swordsmanship and Sharingan, eventually unlocking the third tomoe. At some point, Miyoko's family moved to (wherever this takes place). He continued to grow, train, and master his skills. Miyoko learned of the Imperial Army and decided to join for the simple reason he thought it'd be fun.

Abilities:
Fire Release:
- Great Flame Authority: Chakra kneaded inside a blade is converted into fire, and then with a slash, expelled from the blade and shaped into a literal sea of flames.
- Majestic Fire Destruction: Chakra kneaded inside a blade is converted into fire, and then with a thrust, expelled from the top of the blade is a massive stream of intense flames that can set a vast area ablaze.

Dojutsu: Sharingan
- Sharingan: With a single glance of the Sharingan, this technique forces a nightmarish genjutsu on the victim, usually overpowering them and bringing them to their knees.

- Using Sharingan seriously exhausts him.

  A girl once full of life, now a shell of her former self. She's soft-spoken and shy; sometimes stutters when she talks. She's polite and formal, calling her adopted mother (Aiya) "sensei" instead of mom. She lacks confidence and brushes off compliments, redirecting them to someone else. Her tortoise summon (Hayai) is a source of comfort and is usually seen with him. She's still adjusting to her mechanical arm and is afraid of accidentally hurting allies with it.
  
  Though despite losing it all, she's found a small support group that's ever growing and is trying to work toward being a stronger samerai to protect the peace.
  
  History:
  Kyoka was born in a small village between the Land of Wind and Land of Fire. She was born without an arm and tried to live as best as she could. The people in the village thought she had been cursed and didn't want treat her very well; while they weren't violent, they didn't want anything to do with her. Her mother was a shrine maiden. She loved Kyoka and did what she could, but she was pour and couldn't afford to give her a prosthetic arm. She often dressed Kyoka up as a shrine maiden. For years, her only friends were her mother and tortoise summon, Hayai.
  
  One day her village was caught in a middle of a battle between the Land of Wind and Land of Fire. Her mother was killed in the chaos. Kyoya thought she'd die next, but a samerai woman dressed like a geisha saved her. "Black WIdow" Aiya had arrived with forces from the Imperial Army. They had been camped nearby and heard word of the battle, but arrived to late to save everyone in the village. The fighters from the Land of Wind and Land of Fire soon fled to their own lands, leaving the village a wreck and some innocents dead.
  
  Kyoka knew that the village wouldn't feel like home anymore with her mother gone; she asked to go with Aiya. The woman took her under her wing and she's been in the care of the "Black Widow" ever since; training to fight and is now a novice samerai for the Imperial Army.
  
  Abilities:
  Lightning Ninjutsu:
  
  • Lightning Cowl: Kyoka surrounds her body in lightning chakra, boosting her speed, jumping capabilities, and adding electrifying effects to her attacks. She can extend this ability to whatever she's holding, for example her katana - giving it electric slashes.
  • Shocking Palm: Kyoka palm strikes her opponent while using Lightning Cowl or just by sending lightning chakra down her arms.
  
  Summoning Ninjutsu: Hayai the Tortoise
  Hayai is a tortoise that is the size of a dog. He can move fast, like a hare, when he wants to. His shell is tough and he uses it for defense or bashing the opponent. He can also help maneuver down slopes by becoming a makeshift sled (entering his shell). Personality wise, he likes to take life slow and enjoy the little things. He's a caring friend.

  Aiya is a confident woman that's very comfortable in her own skin. She has a playful personality, but gets serious when she needs to be. Sometimes she comes off as flirty toward those around her age, but it's all in good fun for her. Age is a touchy subject and she generally avoids answering by saying it's a rude thing to ask a woman, but she likes to play herself off as someone 10 years younger than she really is (especially when doing Sameria work.)
  
  She has the potential to be seen as a role model around town and has a sisterly/maternal streak. She tends to be soft on children, but doesn't hesitate to show tough love when she needs to.
  
  History:
  Aiya was born in the Land of Wind to a geisha woman. Although she was taught how to fight, she followed in her mother's footsteps. As a young woman, she entertained people at The Geisha Den. Life was good, but one day she discovered that the owner of the establishment had been bought off by the Land of Fire and a plan to assassinate the leader of the Land of Wind was cooking. Using her feminine charm, she got close to him and assassinated him. She reported the assassination plot and was deemed samerai material.
  
  Over the years, she rose up the ranks and became known as "Black Widow." She was loyal to the Land of Wind, until messengers from the Emperor approached her. She later met with him and heard him out. She was swayed by his conviction to end the fighting and joined the Imperial Army.
  
  Abilities:
  Chakra Threads:
  Aiya has a unique ability to create threads of wind chackra and uses them in a spider-like way. She can tie up opponents with her threads, make platforms for herself to stand on (as long as it's connected to something), or use her threads like a grappling hook.
  
  • Spider's Net: Aiya shoots out a web-like net at her opponent.
  • Black Widow: Restraining Weave: Aiya runs around her opponent, spinning threads around them like a spider restraining food.
  • Black Widow: Slicing Weave: Aiya waves her hand, forming chakra threads for a slash attack.
  • Black Widow: Puppeteer: Aiya attaches her threads to her opponent and controls their body like a puppet.
  • Spider's Bridge: Aiya makes a narrow, bridge-like spider web connecting two points.
  • Spider's Web: Aiya makes a web-like platform. She can make the web practically invisible if she wanted to.
  Tessenjutsu: Ninjustsu accompanied with the use of a war fan.
  
  • Mantis Scythe: Aiya swings her war fan, making a scythe-like blade of wind.​
  • Spider's Dance: Aiya attaches chakra threads to her fan and manipulates it in front of her, sometimes while using her sword to attack at close range.​
  • Great Wind: Protective Wall: Aiya swings her war fan, creating a wall of wind that pushes opponents back.​
  Genjustu:
  Sexy Genjutsu: Aiya casts a Genjutsu that makes it look like she has disrobed. Sakura petals blow around her, making a scene that enhances her sex appeal.
  
  Summoning Ninjutsu: Korokiri the Praying Mantis
  Korokiri is a 6ft. tall praying mantis. She uses her arms like scythes and can create slashes of wind. She can also fly and be rode on. Personality wise she's a femme fatale that smokes a long pipe. She's a playful flirt, calls people cuties, hotties, or handsome. She's not deadly toward allies and reassures them that she doesn't literally mean it when she says they're so handsome that she could "just gobble them up."
  
  Sword Technique: Wind Blade:
  Aiya can make slashes of wind with her sword swings.

Name: Yu Yurei

Alias: YuYu, The Ghost Blade

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Affiliation: Imperial army.

Abilities:

Kekkei Genkai: Fukashi: The Fukashi allows its users to turn incorporeal for limited amounts of time, and to create illusions on-par with the sharinigan, with many of them dealing more emotional then physical damage. When the Fukashi is activated to turn incorporeal, the user turns into wisps of smoke, that can phase through almost anything. However, there is a few second cool down between each use, so you have to be carful. Marking will usually appear around the eye, dark purple in color when it is activated, and the eye with change to a deep purple when using illusions.


Equipment:

10 Dark Purple Kunai, which can also phase through solid objects.

-Katana with Fukashi-related abilities, such as being able to phase through physical objects.

Weaknesses:
-If the Fukashi is used to often, it can have the effect of being unable to revert back to normal for a while, if not permentantly.

-Less strong in illusions

-Fire Jutsu

Name: Mikoto Hashida

Personality(Optional): Mikoto has long been aware that she has existed as long as she has because her parentage made her useful while also being the root of all her problems, as much she once enjoyed the positive attention that came with it she is desperate to make something of herself independent of another's manipulation.

History: Born the illegitimate daughter of Land of Fire's shogun Mikoto was never destined for an easy life as bastard children were at best imprisoned or more frequently killed before they could become an inconvenience to their parents, Mikoto though was fortunate enough to avoid either fate when a rebel group secretly smuggled her to safety intending to one day exploit her bloodline as a revolutionary figurehead.

Spirited away to the Land of Whirlpools she was hidden in a monastery where she was raised under the cover of being an abandoned orphan and was taught the warrior monks' sealing sword style. When Mikoto was 13 she was again plucked from her home as the rebel leaders returned returned for their trump card, revealing her parentage they gave her a crash course in the proper behaviour for one of her supposed station before being presented to the rank and file.

After several years of gathering support and working in secret the revolutionaries finally came to the attention of the Shogun of Fire and their years of work were swiftly reduced to nothing, those few that remained floundered for a time before throwing in their lot with the Imperial forces with Mikoto joining the army in a role that turned out to be less symbolic than originally expected.

Abilities: Mikoto is trained in Sealing Sword style which uses rapidly executed and finely controlled sword strokes to etch patterns which form various seals onto surfaces or even directly onto an opponent's body with the capacity to strengthen the effect by putting in the time to increase the complexity of the seal pattern.

Techniques:

• Seal of Bursting Flame: A basic seal similar those placed on explosive tags that detonates when triggered.
• Burst Draw: An iaido technique that uses carefully placed burst seals on the inside of the scabbard to explosively propel a sheathed sword outward increasing the speed and force of the resulting slash.
• Seal of Fortification: Creates a barrier capable of blocking attacks and people moving through it in a wall or circle on a surface.
• Seal of Shackling: A technique utilising a pair of seals to bind two objects together with chakra chains
• Seal of Burdening: A seal that acts like a heavy weight on an affected target making it harder or impossible to move

Equipment:

• A wakizashi shorter than a katana for finer control when etching seals.
• Sealing scrolls
• Brushes & ink

Weaknesses:

• The shorter blade is less suited for conventional duelling
• More powerful and complex seals require more time and finesse to execute

Name: Satoshi Sato

Aliases: The Old Flame, Booze Blade

Personality: Calm almost to the point of apathy, Satoshi doesn't seem to panick at anything. Battlefield, or with his superiors. A sigh, friendly comment, or advice seem to be his only responses to just about any situation. If anything Satoshi seems particularly tired by everything. He loves to shoot the breeze with younger folk and give pointers where he can. When they get hopeful, it makes Satoshi smile. In battle, he tends to complain and won't shut up. But despite the facade, he doesn't hold back, or show mercy.

History: Fight and kill, it feels like all Satoshi's ever done. From one war to the next, his Daimyo demanding more and more from him. At first, Satoshi felt it was a chance for glory, a chance to expand the Land of Water, and show the world why they were feared.

The more bodies fell, the more hollow each strike became. It seemed like the Daimyo didn't have nay intention of KEEPING any of the land they stole. Defenses were so poor they always turned back to their owners after a mere scuttle. It seemed like blood was just how the Daimyo showed off his little samurai, a bragging right.

Satoshi's career continued, even as he married and had two sons. He taught them the way of the blade, and unlike Satoshi, they seemed particularly talented. Satoshi always survived more off with wit than ability. But Ryu and Hasashi flourished with skill, often racking more in a fight than Satoshi ever could. He grew proud of them, and despite the battles feeling hollow for Satoshi, he could pride himself on them.

They managed to capture a town far in the frontier, towards the land of Fire without him. Satoshi felt something was wrong, as it seemed to easy. They then went to the next, and the next, towards the heart of the land of fire. It seemed too good to be true, and Satoshi sent them a message pleading them to come back.

Well... predictably, they, along with much of the Land of Water's forces fell into a trap, none of the bodies were even returned home.

Satoshi was devastated... He hung up his blade, and swore not to fight for the Land of Water any more. He swore not to fight.

But a certain youngster begged him to teach them how to fight. {Opening in backstory if friend wants to take it}. At first Satoshi refused. He'd had enough fighting. But dreamy eyed, they mentioned wanting to put a stop to the fighting. There was something in that passion Satoshi respected, so once more, he drew his blade, to teach another how to fight.

As the Imperial Army began to grow under the emperor, Satoshi met his student trying to sneak away. "Where do you think you're going...? Alone? With your skill? Not without me..."


Equipment:

HuoHua

Satoshi's blade of many years, it is a jeht black katana with a gray overlay pattern like damascus steel. While it is a beautiful sword, it's most prominent feature is how easily it sparks. Simply drawing it can cause a shower of lights. Clashing likewise can cause a burst of it. Satoshi's hands are covered in burns from it, he himself hardly immune, making longer fights problematic.

Shoujou's Gourd

A handsized gourd filled to the brim with alcohol, with a bit of chakra flowing through it, more is produced. The drink is near poisonous it is so concentrated, and tends to ignite violently.

Abilities:

Homusubi's Cleaving

Satoshi fills his sheath with alcohol, before sheathing his blade. With an Iaido slash forward, a bright arc of fire envelops an opponent with the sword cut, making blocking the iaido strike a poor idea. This is the technique that Satoshi is most infamous for.

Amaratsu's Gaze

Satoshi closes his eyes while quickly running his blade over a rock kept in his wrist wraps, causing bright and blinding sparks. Satoshi developed it as a counter to dojutsu as he's not particularly a fan of born talent.

Sujin's Gulp

Satoshi takes a swig of his brew, before violently spewing it out with enough force to send most opponents flying back. It doesn't deal damage, but is quick, and tends to get people stronger than Satoshi away.

Cresent Blade - Hunting Slash

A simple but effective kenjutsu, Satoshi knocks an incoming strike to the side, before circling his blade and bringing it straight down at his opponent chest in a cresent slash before they can bring their weapon back to center. It's by no means a sure hit, but does tend to help things along to move a defending weapon out the way.

Idle Killing

A genjutsu, by standing perfectly still, Satoshi lulls them into dropping their guard, before seeming to flicker right infront of them in a charge. It's a mere brief illusion that allows Satoshi to close distances quickly on ranged attackers.

Sato Clan's Ultimate Wisdom

Satoshi's ultimate skill, common sense. If he can't win, he's booking it!

Weaknesses: Satoshi relies heavily on his equipment, and is much less powerful without it. His sparking blade hurts him just as much as opponent, if not more so, making long conflict a bad idea. His apathy is also a fairly... harsh mistress. If an opponent asks him not to fight, chances are Satoshi will agree.

He's also an all rounder, meaning anyone particularly skilled in any single area likely can overwhelm him.

Izumi Takahashi

Under the emperor, we'll finally have a chance for peace. Izumi

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Alias: Brat (From Satoshi)

Affiliation: Imperial Army

Personality: A starry-eyed idealist, Izumi was quickly drawn to the Emperor's ideals of ending the constant cycle of war. When she sets her mind to something, Izumi can be infuriatingly stubborn, refusing to budge from her chosen course. Her youth and inexperience do cause her to be fairly naive at times, however. Despite all of that, due to Satoshi's training, when blades are drawn she fights without mercy.

History: Born to merchants on the outskirts of the Land of Water, Izumi enjoyed a fairly peaceful childhood. The family never had much in the way of money, but they were happy. Unbeknownst to Izumi, the appearance of her kekkei genkai caused some drama between her parents. Neither of them came from samurai families after all. But it wasn't a mystery that ever reached its conclusion when forces from the Land of Fire swept through and destroyed her small town in the resulting battle.

Homeless, she made her way to another village. It was there she met the then retired samurai Satoshi to train her to fight. He promptly refused, but the stubborn girl wouldn't take no for an answer. She wanted to bring the seemingly endless conflict to an end. A goal that eventually earned her a sensei. Satoshi was a hard teacher, but fair.

As the Imperial Army grew and word about the Emperor and his goal spread, Izumi became enamored with them and their goals. They wanted to bring an end to the conflict, just like she did. So one night, Izumi grabbed her things and started to sneak out of the village, only to hear a familiar gruff voice call behind her. "Brat, where do you think you're going...? Alone? With your skill? Not without me..."

Abilities:

Ice Release

A kekkei genkai native to the Land of Water that uses wind and water release to form ice. Izumi isn't entirely sure where it even came from, but she isn't about to pass up the gift.

Blade of the Yuki Onna

Izumi's signature technique, she coats her sword with ice extending the blade to any length she desires. An odachi is her preferred weapon.

Yuki Onna's Scorn

Clashing against a blade of ice is dangerous as each strike leeches away her opponent's body heat.

Kuraokami's Cleave

Learned from Satoshi, Izumi sheathes her blade and pulls it from her back, shifting to an iai stance. The resulting iai slash sends an arc of water at her opponent that freezes on contact. It's just as dangerous to block as her master's technique, though for the opposite reason.

Equipment:

Icicle

A wakizashi in an odachi sheath, the otherwise empty space in the sheath is filled with water.

Kaiken

A normal dagger in an unornamented, rosewood sheath.

Weaknesses:

• Cold - She's cold; literally. Chilling the air around her and when emotions run high, even causing a thin layer of frost to spread out across anything she's touching. Makes sneaking around a bitch.
• Novice - With skills equivalent to a genin, more experienced opponents can easily overwhelm her.
• Fire - Her ice release isn't developed enough to withstand fire.

Plans for Development:

• Learn to use killing intent
• Modify her sheath to be more like Satoshi's gourd, letting it refill with water in response to chakra.

Abilities:

Samurai Sabre Technique: Through the use of chakra flow, the user channels their chakra through their swords, extending both the reach and cutting ability of the blade

Earth Style: Iron Skin - Earth-natured chakra flows through all or parts of their body, causing it to become noticeably darker, all while increasing their defensive power to become as hard as diamond. As such, this allows the user to easily be able to withstand most attacks with little to no damage, with the exception of Lightning Release ninjutsu. Furthermore, the destructive power of physical attacks is increased, making this a great all-purpose technique.

Lightning Style: Overdrive - By utilizing Lightning Release, the user can speed up the signals that are sent from the brain to the muscles to increase the user's striking speed. The technique also gives the user cutting capabilities from barehanded attacks.
