What's the technology improvements of the time?
Very good question. Since it's been roughly 200 years since the time of Naruto, the technology has advanced over the years, even though it's not strikingly different. The main advancements that are significantly different than in the original Naruto series is the advancement of the battery: Back in Naruto's time most batteries were big and bulky, very unreliable, unless they were in cell phones or radios. Now with the modern advancements batteries are much smaller and more advanced, and things such as televisions, cell phones, and even laptops are much much more common. Though do note that it's frowned upon for Shinobi to actively use their phone.
But the main advancement, and by far the most important one would have to be in Train locomotives. You see, in the 200 years that have passed a complex system of rails has been built across the land, with trains that look very similar to what we have now populating the rails. Arguably enough, the railroad is what has made this new system of cooperation possible, as every single set of rails has been linked up and it's now possible to get across nations in just hours compared to the days on foot! This luxury isn't cheap though, and while it certainly isn't expensive either it still costs a decent amount of Ryo.
Military wise though, there has been little improvement on the technology. This just so happens to be because of how useful Shinobi still are, and this is why there are no useful guns in this land.
Why are squads constantly switching?
In the roleplay you've probably noticed that squad-members have been switching places, often just seeming to without warning get swapped into other squads. There are two answers to this question: The Squad system was rushed by the higher ranking Shinobi put in charge. This is due to the system of village cooperation initiated. Basically, this is the first time high ranking Shinobi of villages that are spaced miles apart have actually tried organizing something. As you may have guessed things tend to get...misunderstood. Long distance communication has caused quite a few mix up in the ranks, specifically with the freshly graduated Genin. This is mainly what has caused all of the constant squad switching.
Secondly, it's also being caused by instructor's demand. If a Jonin feels that a member of his squad is preventing team work, he does have the authority to call in and switch members on the spot. This has already been demonstrated a few times in the roleplay, and it can happen so quickly that a student may have to just drop what they're doing and leave, even if it's in the middle of dialogue!
Will there be Chunin Exams?
Yes, there will be! However, it will be coming later in the roleplay, after each squad has had a chance to run a missions or two. Don't expect this to be the typical Chunin exams, as a new host has been selected for this exam.
