The Cold One
Greeting, greetings. I'm Edy. I've been here on and off with protracted breaks for almost a decade, i've been RPing for about a decade and a half in all formats you can think of. I got my start on IRC channels, and if you've been in one, congratulations. You're either a tech nerd, older than you'd like to admit or both. I've done extensive RP in everything from forums to chat to MMOs to Tabletops for half of my life.
I've got two prompts in the other tabs, one a bit more vague than the other because I believe that great RP comes from building a world and story we are both enthusiastic about, so I prefer to give vague guidelines about themes or just starts that I am looking for and then hashing out the rest with prospective partners so we can build a story that is truly ours. After all, i'm just one man with a limited set of ideas, yours will undoubtably add to mine to make an end product greater than what I could write on my own, is that not what RP is about after all?
I don't have strict requirements about post lengths, it all goes after that is natural and what fits the scene. A dialogue heavy part will have naturally shorter posts than something that is setting up details in the environment or establishing what is diagetically known and unknown but present. All I ask is you make your best effort and write what you find to be natural, when in doubt, match the other person to the best of your abilities. I've done 5000 word posts, i've done 1 paragraph RPs, each have their place, it all depends.
I don't do fandom and don't do offsite.
Being 18+ is a requirement, being 21+ is a preference.
A prodigy of mech piloting which proves a frequent headache for both the mechanics and the military leadership, operating juuuust enough within the rules to never see serious trouble for her reckless actions and having skill enough to never have a plan go awry to date. Which is what gave birth to her greatest weakness, believing there is no one whom can be her match. And if you love stories as much as I do, you know where this is going.
The nature of it we can set up. Maybe skill meets cunning, maybe skill meets skill. Her hubris gets the better of her which leads to her eventual loss.
One idea is that she ends up captured by you in the end. With numerous ways to spin it, maybe she's an empire dog and you're a rebel fighter who just wants a simple life of freedom which the empire has made impossible. Maybe she gets lured into a trap and captured, maybe they fight eachother to a stalemate, both mechs ending up out of comission so they are by themselves in a hostile environment and they know that they have far greater survival odds travelling together than continuing to fight.
Okay, not quite exactly what you were thinking, maybe? Depends on what you were thinking. I just genuinly couldn't find a better name for this.
Totally not due to any childhood trauma nor me rewatching Inu x Boku for the fifth time. I've been having a hankering for a premise in which a girl of a noble family inherits their "Legacy" of a magical nature, the precise nature of which can be discussed in more detail between us. What drew my attention to it first were people who were descendants of yokai, and every once in a while the blood manifests strongly, leading to the given person having the powers and abilities of their supernatural ancestor. Though I am always open to other spins on this, such as magical bloodlines, draconic, fae, you name it.
This makes the family view her more as a token or a bargaining piece rather than her own person, since the gift inherent in the bloodline is strongest in her for this generation, this makes any marriages or children there of also have the chance of possessing her gift, a political marriage with her as a chip on the board.
This leads to her developing complex of trying to sabotage her parent's efforts. Getting into trouble or acting undesirable or unamanagable solely to make it as hard as possible for her parents to attract people with their "Bargaining chip". Poisoning the well, so to speak.
Her only weakness? The one that sees her for her, the one that sees her as a person instead of her family's legacy or the status of her name. The person that couldn't care less what her titles or her birthrate gives her. And you, dear reader, would play the part of that person.
It doesn't have to be romance, but it naturally predisposes it towards it. It could just be platonic friendship as well.
