My Lovely Model (LullDayBreak and ReminiscenceOfRegret)

LullDayBreak13

CuriousOne
After trying to persuade her parents on her being a model, she locks herself in her room. "What is there problem with me being one, I'm trying to change, isn't that good for them?" she said and sighed. She looked at all the rejected letters she got from the agencies she went for the tryouts she went to and couldn't even look at them. "Gaaaaah!" she tried to rip it to pieces but couldn't. "Whats the use.... I tried to audition but why can't they accept me... is there something missing?" she looked at the mirror and looks at her reflection.

"Am I ugly... but then, I was one of the popular girls back when I was a high school student, and even in my freshman years in college, well... I'm still a student but come on..." she complained and looked down. Miki sighed and then decided to go to the park alone and tries to calm herself down there.

She walked around the park and then over to the bridge. "All of auditions I've been to.... it's like they were saying I'm a failure as a girl..." she told herself and puts her hand on her forehead and shakes her head. "Should I just follow my parent's again... I want something for myself..." she mumbled while looking down on her reflection from the small river under the bridge.

Cerulean orbs remained hidden beneath a pair of shades, a glistening grin placed upon a bluette's lips. The day couldn't have been better. He'd participated in a wide range of photo shoots and booked numerous more thanks to his agent. Though exhausting at times, he was truly living the ideal life. Everything was taken care for him by his agent, and he managed to make enough profit to live a comfortable life of occasional extravagence. All in all, life was perfect in his mind.

He was walking, casually, through a secluded part of town with a fedora resting atop his head. The overall appearance of his attire managed to make him rather unnoticable, and the seclusion of this section of the city benefitted the goal of remaining unseen. Still, he wasn't alone. He could see a figure in the distance, with eyes downcast to the river flowing below. He wanted to say she looked peaceful, with the setting sun filtering down and catching the loose strands of her hair and making them glow.

But she didn't.

Her expression read of disappointment, of sorrow, and of rejection. What kind of life did she live? What brought such emotion to her beautiful face? Curiosity got the better of him. He approached, smile still in tact. "Something wrong?" He asked, leaning against the bridge. "You look a little gloomy."

Miki imagined the judges laughing behind her back 'Maybe they were really laughing at me after I auditioned?! What do I do?!' she mentally panicked and was in a state of distress. She lets out a long sigh and closed her eyes "I guess I should probably just obey my parents huh..." she said and when she opened her eyes she hears someone ask her something. She saw another figure beside her from the reflection and flinched when she sees a man in front of her. "Eep!" surprised by the sudden question and the sudden appearance of a handsome man.

"Uhm..." she didn't know who he was but he looked rather familiar 'I think I've seen him on some commercials already and even in some magazines as well, but I don't know his name...' she thought and slightly backs away from the mysterious man. But then, she figured she wouldn't meet him again and she really wanted to tell her problems to someone. Anyone would be good. She just wanted to let all her stress out.

"Y-yeah... in fact there is something wrong..." she said and leaned back on the railings of the bridge and puts her arms on the railings as she looked down at her reflection again on the river. " She then started to tell about her problems about her parents forcing her on being the heir to her father's hospital. And wanted her to be a doctor. And also she told the mysterious stranger about her problems about her always failing the modelling auditions for being a model. They wouldn't even hire her event he least bit. She had enough of it.

Aoi had turned to where his back faced the railing, leaning against it calmly as he listened to the story unfolding before him. "How unfortunate." He said, pure sympathy flowing through his voice. "It happens to the the best of us. People want to be models, and they try, but every audition ends in disappointment and rejection. You feel so hurt, so dejected. Like, why am I not good enough? Why can't I succeed? But, don't be discouraged. Just go practice more. Go study into other models. Learn to better yourself. You have a chance. You'll have a chance until the day you give up. Because you can go be a doctor, but that won't make you happy, eh? This is your passion. Your passion will make you succeed. Along with hardwork and effort."

With a small smile, he gestured to the ice cream parlor in the distance. "Why don't I go buy you some ice cream? Those cold treats help everyone feel better, y'know?" He pulled his sunglasses up to the top of his head and started to work with his hands in his pockets. He turned after a few steps and glanced over his shoulder to see if she was following.

Miki just finished listening to him and actually, she felt better after telling the guy. But then the mysterious guy suddenly offered her to some ice cream. She had some second thoughts if she should trust this man and just declining his offer but she also felt that this guy isn't too bad. She answered "Sure, why not..." she sand and decided to follow her to an ice cream shop.

As she was walking with the mysterious man, in the back of her mind she was trying to figure out who he is. 'This man... I'm sure I've seen him before but why can't I put my finger on it.... his voice is familiar as well.... he looks like someone I've seen in the magazine already...' she thought and just continued to walk with him until they finally got to the ice cream shop.

Aoi pulled the door open and held it there with his foot, allowing a couple to walk in before them. He waited for Miki to step inside before following close behind her. Once in line behind a couple other patrons, he glanced her way with a curious glint reflecting in his eyes. "Two questions, if you'll sate my curiosity. First, what's your favorite flavor of ice cream?" His grin was bright, almost mystical. Even before entering his line of work, he'd always had a prize winning smile and a reason to always wear it along his lips. "Second, what inspired you to become a model anyway? Not saying it's a bad choice or anything, but it's not exactly the most popular job in the world." Sure, tons of people probably wanted to pose in front of cameras to be shown on the cover of magazines across the country, but hardly any lacked the same ambition to achieve such a goal. This girl, however, she was working desperately for her spot amongst the stars. But what had turned her to this pathway of life? What crafted these dreams?

"Oh, by the way, I'm Aoi. Aoi Hayashi. Might I ask your name?"

Miki blushed when he soddenly smiled at her as she panicked a bit when he asked her some questions. "Oh uhm.. I-I like chocolate mint flavored ice cream..." she said and looked down. 'That caught me off guard, huh?' she thought while walking and then listened to his second question. Her blush faded away as she really had a reason as she formed a fist on her side as she walked. "It's because...." she remembered the time when she saw her friends doing what they wanted to do and their parents would support their dreams.

She looked up at the mystery man beside her. "It's because... back in high school, I always obeyed my parents, I wanted them to be happy of the grades and I get in school. One day, my friends were talking about what they want to be when they grow up as adults. I envied them since their parents seem to support their dream. So I thought, that I did everything good little thing my parents wanted me to do, I thought.. that they would allow me to express myself..." she said and takes out a magazine from her bag. "Look! I was just a simple girl back then who is always obedient, I wanted to model and show my true self to them but they keep on telling me that modelling is just a waste of time for me...." she said and sighed.

Aoi stared at the magazine for a moment before gently taking it from her hands. He looked over it, examing the model presented on the front cover. He could see the emotion in her eyes. The depth. It looked beautiful, honestly. She, in her glory, was beautiful.

"Your parents probably don't support your dream because it's a hard one to achieve and keep a hold on. Being a doctor is a stable career path. You don't have to worry about appearances, y'know? Models, I'd think, can definitely grow less desired for work positions as they grow older. Of course, this doesn't mean to give up either. Just try harder. Show your parents you can do it. Once you do, I'd think they'd see this is where you belong. That this is what you love to do. Because, honestly, with what you just told me....I'd think you'd make a great model. Sometimes you just have to wait a little before you catch your big break." He moved forward slightly in the line, though they were still a few spots away from the cash register. He handed her back her magazine before stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"How about I make you a deal, eh? I can help you get a position in the modeling industry. One model to another, right? We gotta help each other out." He tilted his head curiously, wondering if she'd take him up on his offer to help.

Miki look frustrated for a moment as she was thinking about her parents actions towards her. These past few days, they keep on telling her to inherit her father's work. "I know that.... I know but... it just isn't me... I've always obeyed their orders since I was a kid... but I thought this time I should do what 'I' actually want to do, I don't want to be tied down by my parents... I sometimes feel like...." she looked at her hand and she felt like there was some chain holding her back.

It felt like she was a caged bird that wasn't allowed to fly freely. But then, after what he told her, her eyes sparkled as she held his hand. "W-wait? Are you sure?!" she asked him excitedly with that bright smile of hers. It looked like she was some child finally getting the present she really wanted her whole life. "Y-you're not kidding with me right mister? Oh uhm, yes, s-sorry, my name is Miki Tachibana!" she was all flustered as she tried to talk and she ended up biting her tongue as she covered her mouth and blushed. 'Ouch ouch! That really hurts!' she thought.
