Personality:
A conflicting girl with energy and great passion, confidence being there own downfall with their certainty of several topics often being proven quickly false with a frightening speed at times though rarely letting such dissuade them. Still, she does have an aggressive streak when triggered, her snapping anger going overboard at times to the point of yelling at inanimate objects with a deep cynicism which strangely can quickly change to laughter. Above all, though they hold great value in personal freedom through their mental stability has raised concerns for a while though seems deeply tied to her creative spark.
Bio:
A Tokyo born teen from a relatively wealthy family with established roots in the Kabukichō district though unfortunately embroiled within the corruption of the city with the kickbacks and selective project approval used to shape the city in the prefered image and unconfirmed ties to the Yakuza. With the growing emergence in quirks and discrimination reducing her options and limitations on her natural ability, it was this that birthed her desire to be a vigilante. She holds no grand vision or altruistic pursuit, just a means to an end to success and freedom, Its been this somewhat selfish desire to escape the world around them to their own idealised one that has fueled her resolve.

Sting-Rei
Name: Rei Mugen

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Occupation: vigilante, part-time animal shelter worker.

Quirk: The triboelectric effect of his hair is many, many times greater than normal hair, such that even the smallest amount of friction against it can create a buildup of static. Interestingly, when the fibers are rubbed against each other, the effect is greatly magnified. A single whip of his long silver hair has the effect of a low-powered taser. That’s at low charge. The more vigorously he rubs his hair, or shakes/bangs his head, the greater the static buildup and the greater the electrical discharge his hairs can produce. However, given that his locks are always naturally bumping into each other every time he moves, his hair is pretty much always charged and dangerous (flowing behind him in a cool anime fashion =P). Needless to say, his hair stores electricity well. Those touching his hair willy-nilly would find themselves stung from a shock that can range from mild to moderately painful depending on the static buildup at the time.

While he can utilize his quirk for electric combat (by whipping his hair around), Rei mainly uses his quirk to power his equipment and armor.

The weakness of his quirk is water and metal which, discharges all the electricity in his hair and prevents static buildup the longer it remains in contact. Essentially, His flowing, static-y hair goes limp when touching metal or water.

Alias: Sting-Rei

5'11''
150lbs

Costume:
tumblr_ngswtuBDNW1sbzuqfo3_500.png

Personality:

Rei is serious and honest. Intelligent, but not especially cunning. He is generally straightforward when dealing with others and dislikes beating around the bush. If someone didn’t like him, he’d rather them tell him upfront than hide it from him. Rei is on the quiet side. He’s an introvert. Not exactly shy, but not very sociable either. That’s not to say he dislikes company. Just he needs space to recharge after extensive interaction. He values his alone time more than the typical extrovert does.

Most his hobbies are independent. Reading, listening to music, exercising, feeding animals. He enjoys watching animals, observing them and seeing how they interact with their environment. Would probably work towards a degree in zoology if he had the money.

Rei is hard working. He doesn’t believe in short cuts and avoids taking the easy way out of things. He hides his quirk when not in costume not out of fear, but to avoid hassles. He doesn’t like creating trouble, but doesn’t turn away when in the face of trouble either. Rei faces challenges head on. If he says he’ll do something, he does it. In that sense, Rei holds himself to a high moral standard.

Despite not being a social butterfly, Rei is surprisingly empathetic towards others. Goes out of his way to help strangers more often than not. He has a forgiving nature and, except in extreme cases, doesn’t tend to hold grudges either. Insults slide off him like water.

Bio:

Rei’s family are descendants of samurai living in Kyoto. His grandfather owns a dojo teaching Mugen-style swordsmanship to kids. Only his parents didn’t seem interested in family tradition. His dad is a regular office worker. His mom is a lawyer. Rei grew up mostly raised by grandfather and learning a lot from him. It wasn’t just swordsmanship (though he did learn quite a bit from his grandfather in that regard). He learned discipline. Morals. Bushido. Rei’s grandfather played a large part in his development.

When he was four, his parents received the shock of their lives, literally, when they touched his hair. Well, his mom mostly. Turns out his father could shoot electricity from his fingertips and never told her. It caused a bit of a rift between his parents. His mom tried her best to not let it show. However, the knowledge that her husband and son were quirk users made her uncomfortable. Quirk users in general made her uncomfortable (which was probably why his dad never told his mom). Therefore, Rei did his best to make his mother less uncomfortable.

He kept his hair tied with a metal band on a regular basis. Combed his hair with a metal comb. Kept it a secret that he had a quirk in school. Home life grew more uncomfortable with the growing rift between his parents so he found solace in his grandfather’s dojo. In the kendo club. In his studies. He made friends, but hiding his quirk, and being an introvert, made close relationships difficult. He avoided coming home often because he didn’t want to see his mother try so hard to like him. Rei would’ve preferred that she was upfront about her feelings towards him. That his parents were upfront about their feelings towards each other and stopped pretending everything was okay when it wasn’t.

He enrolled in a boarding school in Tokyo to get away from home. It was there that he met the teacher that would change his life. Mr. Sawara discovered his quirk. Had a quirk of his own. The 40-year old genius temporarily gained 10 IQ points for every year he de-aged. He respected Rei’s decision to keep his quirk a secret. He was the reason Sting-Rei came to be. It was Mr. Sawara that convinced him that he needed an outlet for his quirk. Something about learning to accept himself. Mr. Sawara designed his costume clearly a megaman fan. Rei had never tried being a masked hero before. However, the more he did it, the more he helped others and brought justice to the world, the more he liked it.

He and Mr. Sawara formed a partnership that lasted past graduation.

While he does interact with other vigilantes from time to time, he mainly works solo with only Mr. Sawara as support.

Equipment:

Electric powered armor—the helmet is designed to absorb that static buildup of his hair and distribute it to the rest of the armor. Besides glowing all pretty like, the armor is a support item lets him safely moderate and release the electricity generated from his locks out through his hands. It also has built in communicative functions and is fairly resistant to electricity so he doesn't end up shocking himself with his quirk. That’s pretty much it.

Electric Sword Handle—charged by his quirk, when he turns it on, a blade of solidified electric energy forms. For all intents and purposes, it’s just a cool looking, translucent, sword that conducts electricity extremely well.

Metallic hair tie—He wears it to hides his quirk and prevent any accidents when people touch his hair.

Metal comb—Discharge his hair just in case.

Other:
  • He adopted a cat from the animal shelter he works at and named her Blackie.
  • He lives alone in a single-room apartment (with his cat).
  • His parents are divorced.
  • If you can't tell, he's pretty decent swordsman.
  • His vigilante name is a pun. He also considered Infinite Zero.

"You have to learn to go with the flow."
Name: Akimoto Yukina
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Occupation: Bartender and Cook

Quirk:
Hydrophysiology - Yukina is able to liquefy and transform her body - or parts of her body - into water, maintaining an anatomically identical form while doing so, and gaining a degree of intangibility that allows most physical attacks to pass through, or be absorbed into, her body. Extreme temperatures negatively impact her quirk alongside electrical currents.

5669a943a8b9e7f206bd967e76a7aba8.jpg

Personality:
Sarcasm flows through Yukina's veins like blood, dripping into her speech and coloring many of the interactions she has with the world around her. Despite her quips, she is a woman of staunch silences whose apparent introversion is a byproduct of laziness rather than social anxiety - a woman who prefers to observe the world instead of bending it to her will. Some find her antisocial; others think her arrogant. In reality, she's just uninterested. Yukina, after all, is content to watch how others react to her impassivity. Indeed, the girl of her past who cared about how others perceived her is gone. She's learned that people judge her regardless of what she does and adopted the conclusion that her life if her own. Why should she expend so much of her energy into ensuring a certain public portrayal when humanity remains fickle?

While at terms with others' perceptions of her - positive or otherwise - Yukina does tend to speak up on other peoples' behalf. She's sisterly in demeanor, though not particularly dotting, letting people make their own decisions and helping out when needed. The sturdy rock, the stable listener; Yukina's role is as a confidant and support, one that'll willingly get her hands dirty if the situation calls for it. Regardless, she has mixed feelings about her quirk and struggles between publicly advertising it or locking it away.

Bio:
Yukina was born in Sappora, Japan alongside her twin brother, Yuu. Her earliest years were spent in near silence - for Yuu was the more boisterous of the two of them, and Yukina learned early on that letting her brother do the talking for her was the smartest option. He was a chatterbox, after all, and speaking over her had seemed ingrained in his bones. As the years drew on and the twins drifted apart - Yuu was the social butterfly, perpetually surrounded by friends; Yukina was not - their dynamic begin to change. In fact, it was the emergence of Yukina's quirk in her fifth year of life that initiated the first divide.

Yukina began practicing martial arts as a way to pass time - and distract herself from her quirk while simultaneously learning to live with and control it - in middle school. While her parents did their best to support her and her differences, Yukina decided to leave Sappora to live with her uncle in Tokyo after graduating from high school. She's even begun sticking her nose in a line of work she'd never considered before: acting as a vigilante. Still, her goals lie less with the pursuit of justice and more in the hunt for future acceptance of quirk users.

Equipment:
  • Two metal flasks, one on each hip, used to store water.
  • A single, 3-section staff (San Jie Gun).
    ML_471B__00997.jpg

Other:
  • Her skin is typically cool to the touch as a result of her quirk.
  • She is required to drink copious amounts of water or risk severe dehydration when using her quirk.
  • Yukina is a lover of seafood - especially scallops.
  • Her uncle is a police officer.

Cloak
"We are like cloaks: one thinks of us only when it rains."
– Maurice de Saxe

Name: Usagi Aiko
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Occupation: Video Game Artist

_____________

Quirk: Shadow
– Aiko can turn her entire body into a shadow, a wispy non-solid form that's opaque black. She can use this to turn her body into different shapes, being able to shrink or expand based on the density of her original form, or simply blend into the shadows and move along them. Nothing can touch her in her shadow form—and neither can she touch them—except for sunlight. Or bright light in general. Her skin, whether in shadow or not, is extremely sensitive to light and UV rays, and this is ten times worse in her shadow form. It's like touching fire. Her black eyes are also very sensitive to bright light, although they grant her excellent night vision.
Alias: Cloak
_____________

Appearance: Aiko is a medium sized woman, standing at 5'5", with a straight figure. Her skin is incredibly pale due to her intolerance for sunlight, and her eyes are iris-less and pitch black. Her hair is light platinum, as if it has been bleached, and naturally falls to a few inches below her shoulders. She's normally seen in hoodies and skinny jeans, wearing sunglasses no matter the weather or location.
Costume:
595346
_____________

Personality:
Aiko, despite her rather ghoulish appearance and penchant for wearing black at night, is actually a rather vivacious personality. She's social, upbeat, and loves new experiences, although she has a hard time fulfilling this love out in a world that still is scared of her. Perhaps, that is why Aiko tends to be quick to trust; if anyone shows a shred of acceptance, most times she has already accepted them in turn. She doesn't like to think the worst of people, and some may call her naive for it; they might be right, but she's anything if not determined.

The only way to bypass her altruistic tendencies for even the strangers on the street is to threaten those she cares for or to prove without a shadow of a doubt that you are up to no good. (And she gives lots of chances.) Aiko is fiercely protective of those close to her, perhaps because there are so few, and she will be a force to be reckoned with should anything happen. There is a darkness hiding within her, built up of years of swallowed emotions, and it's not without a door.

Not that Aiko wants to dwell in rage. She likes to have fun, playing games and hanging out, as much—if not more—than the average joe. Aiko lives for thrill, simulated or real, and she loves to make other people happy in the midst of her own. Whether it's cracking jokes or finding ways to pull other people out of the dumps, Aiko tries her best to be a little ray of sunshine, even if that's something she can never step foot in herself.

Bio:
Her mother was a meta, born with pale skin and shadowy hair that wriggled and waved no matter what she did. Her father was human, an artist with a love for nighttime and stories. They fell in love one day at some writing convention, and it was history ever since. Unlike some other cases that were becoming more and more prevalent these days, there were no secrets between them when they wed; however, despite her wonderful home life, it still wasn't as if the world accepted them.

Aiko is the oldest of four little meta babies born to the happy couple, all shadowy creatures that had to hide from the light. Her mother homeschooled them after Aiko was shunned from first year by her "disability" and subsequently kicked out. She was hurt that she couldn't be with all of the other children, but she tried not to let it bother her. Life went on, and rather early Aiko discovered a love for video games. There was a virtual world, with virtual sunlight and outdoors, with people hiding behind a screen just like she was, with wacky customized characters that nobody questioned. Whether first-person or full MMO, Aiko found that video games were a nice outlet for the social interaction she craved. It was a big reason why Aiko turned to video game artistry and development when it came time to search for a career.

However, not all of her siblings found a way to get through the lives they have been given. Her younger brother Hoshi, the second oldest of the siblings, hated their condition and hated being shunned for it. He had been growing more and more distant and would disappear sometimes. Aiko had tried to reach out to him, but nothing seemed to work. And then one day, Hoshi came home tired yet grimly triumphant—and his abilities were gone. They were horrified that such a thing was possible, Aiko especially. She eventually found out that Hoshi had found a man that could take away people's abilities, in exchange for certain favors, something of which was slowly starting to eat at the sixteen year old boy.

Determined to not only found someway to protect her little brother from his mistakes, but also to somehow prove that their abilities were special and important, Aiko took to the streets. Other vigilantes had cropped up before, and while Aiko had been fascinated by them, she never had the drive to do what they did until her own family had been struck. It was a rough start, but Aiko began to get the hang of navigating the dark and forlorn streets of Tokyo. One of her dear and only friends, Ami, whom she had met through online gaming and actually came to know in real life, helped her out through the logistics. Ami was adept at the art of bojutsu and taught it to Aiko. Her sole confidant in this endeavor, Ami was a key factor to her not dying out on the streets, as well as being somewhat successful. Between the two of them, they named the shadowy defender "Cloak."

Cloak would go out and stop mugger and thieves, but most often she would be seen watching over children, lost individuals, and scared metas as they tried to make it home. Terrifying as she can be, Cloak set out in this risky line of business to use her powers to protect people. And if she finds this bully that stole from her brother, well, that's certainly an added bonus.

Equipment:

Long black overcoat: only her body can turn to shadow, so she opts to wear a single piece of clothing that is easily disposed of and retrieved should the need arise. She keeps most of her other equipment in there or in her belt pouches.
– Mask: she wears a black bandanna around her neck that she can pull over her mouth and nose.
– Extendable staff: her main weapon, Aiko uses a telescopic metal staff that can pull out and use in a moment's notice.
– Knives: as a back-up, she has a few small knives stashed into her coat.
– First-Aid Kit: she likes having bandages and first-aid equipment on her person in case something happens.

Other:
Don't mind the picture, I rushed it, and as with almost everything else I do, I neglected to color because I'm lazy.
Her family name "Usagi" means "moon," and her given name "Aiko" means "the little loved one" or "beloved"
– Her siblings, in order, are Hoshi (brother, age 18), Mika (sister, age 15), and Yoko (sister, age 10).
– Ami is the only lasting online friend she has that knows she has a quirk. She has tried to tell others, but they don't work out.
– Aiko and Ami are trying to develop a platform game about a moon creature trying to traverse the world to rescue their friend the sun creature. (Don't try to read into it.) They're in a beta stage for it now and trying to get a company to pick it up, or enough funds to sell it themselves.
– Yes, I know that there are a pair of heroes called Cloak and Dagger. Did I remember them when I was making Aiko? No. Did I remember when I decided on the name "Cloak" for her? Yes. I decided to keep it regardless. If Marvel Comics exist in this world, then Aiko totally did it on purpose, because she would totally be a fan of the pair of vigilantes that scared evil and helped out lost mutant/alien/magic kids.

Name: Elizabeth Sharp

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Occupation: Student

Quirk: Werewolf. Elizabeth's pituitary gland secretes a hormone that makes her resemble a canine. She has heightened senses; increased speed and strength; and increased stamina. However, adrenaline can cause this hormone to spike and make Elizabeth lose control of her quirk, turning into a large bipedal wolf like creature. She is allergic to silver and wears a silver necklace to keep from losing control of her quirk.

Appearance: Elizabeth's quirk makes her a lot stronger than she looks, standing at only 5'3. She carries herself like a soldier--always rigid with perfect posture. She dresses neatly, but casually, preferring denim jackets and camouflage patterns. She very rarely smiles, partially due to her temperament but also because her abnormally sharp canine teeth would threaten to give away the fact that she has a quirk. Despite being small and cute looking, her tendency to stare and perpetually serious expression make her come off as intimidating.

595520

Costume:
595526

Personality: Because her quirk can be affected by strong emotions, Elizabeth has become guarded and closed off in an effort to control it. At best most people would call her 'polite' and at worst 'cold.' Despite her outward appearances, those who are able to get close to her would see a much different person; Elizabeth's intensity is channeled into fierce loyalty for the few friends she has. Elizabeth is also very aware of the way she comes across, which fills her with a lot of insecurity only exacerbated by the self loathing she has over her quirk. It doesn't help that her lack of social skills makes it difficult for her to pick up on social cues, so her attempts to befriend someone can make her come off as awkward.

Her quirk also gives her some canine like tendencies that she tries to suppress, such as growling or pacing in a circle before sitting or lying down. She gets very uncomfortable and even angry if someone points these out, out of an intense fear of her secret being discovered.

Bio: Elizabeth's mother, Helen, was born to a quirkless family in Alabama; her father, Richard, had a mutation quirk which gave him the appearance of a wolf. Although Helen's parents were adamantly opposed to her having any relationship with a meta, it didn't stop her from secretly dating Richard and eventually becoming pregnant with Elizabeth by her sophomore year of high school. Helen was disowned by her family and Richard's took her in, giving their blessing for the two to get married. To provide for his new wife and child Richard turned to the military, which offered employment for metas with quirks that made them better soldiers. Elizabeth ended up spending her childhood never living in more than one place for more than a couple of years as her father was moved to army bases in different countries.

It was not until Elizabeth was five years old that the full extent of her quirk was revealed. Up until that point the only indication she had one was her sharp canines, but a fight during recess with a third grader ended with her attacking and almost killing him. When they moved again, Helen and Richard agreed that the best thing they could do was to teach Elizabeth to never let anyone know she was a meta. With Richard gone most of the time overseas, Helen was able to pretend that they were a quirkless family. It left Elizabeth with a feeling a self loathing over her quirk and an intense, constant fear of being found out.

Richard was transferred to an army base in Japan when Elizabeth was 14. After Elizabeth was able to stop a mugger from attacking her and her mother one day while walking home, the idea of being able to use her quirk to help others never left her mind. Elizabeth has no idea how one goes about being a vigilante, has no idea how to get equipment or find criminals, but she hopes to use the knowledge she's gleaned from her father and prove to herself that her quirk doesn't mean she has to be a monster.

Accepted.

Costume:

Equipment: None (yet)

Costume:

Accepted.

Name: Gaiki 'Gai' Shiroka
Gender: Male
Age: 46
Occupation: Cabbie

Quirk: Hypercarnivore
Gaiki can create mouths (complete with teeth and jaws) at any part of his body, but most ably with his hands and feet where he can create a maws larger than his torso. These maws also secrete a powerful digestive juices which has been basically the bane of his existence.

Alias: Old Man Jaws
Appearance: Gai is a fairly large man, at average height of 5'11 but broad-set and stocky, well-built and powerful but not in a particularly attractive way His face is similarly broad and square jawed, with a thin film of facial hair, only made remarkable by piercing eyes which give the appearance of being stung by acid. Gai's hair has been balding and graying for a few years. He normally dresses in a jacket over his work polo tee.
Costume: Initially being too poor to afford one and too old and weary to bother with appearances, Gai just went in a modified motorcycle helmet to cover his eyes, a single and sweatpants. His clothes melting or getting destroyed eventually proved a problem, and after getting some and there he managed to get a crappy-looking but usable black Teflon vest.

Personality: Generally cantankerous and rude, Gaiki is a disillusioned individual, depressed over his lack of achievment in life and over the decades of discrimination, mockery and pity. Gai loathes his quirk, perceiving it as the reason for all his misfortunes. Envy towards others colors his interactions with them. Despite that, Gai is still a man who has lived with his quirk for a long time, in a variety of environments and temperaments- he has learnt to take shit and swallow it, and has been forced to do so to progress in competition with the quirkless. He releases his repressed bitterness in his vigilantism and occasionally unto his family, which he does regret and loathe himself for.

Gai does love his family and is comfortable with the few friends he has made and kept over the years, being only able to relax with them and himself. Even so, envy and a huge baggage of mixed sentiment taints his relation with each and every one of them.

Bio: Born at a time where hatred and fear towards those with 'quirks' was even worse than it is now, Gai was one of 3 sons and the only one with a 'special ability'. had a tough childhood with his hilariously gross quirk. College was a reprieve from the prejudice of his youth- while that still remained from time to time, Gaiki graduated from college with a degree in property management at the age of 23 with average results. Still, he landed himself a decent position in a successful property investment company at 26, and more importantly met an accountant who would become the love of his life. 24 year old Ayako, unlike most, looked past his quirk. 2 years later, they got married, and following that they had a daughter.

Things were going smoothly- he wasn't shooting up the ranks in his agency but he was moving up. Then shit went south, the phantom curse of quirks came back to haunt him. Ayako had to stop working when Sonoka awakened her destructive and unpredictable quirk. Then came the airport incident. Gai had been assigned to an important assignment in France, but in the aftermath of a string of chemical terrorism attacks in Australia, airport security had taken a rather anal-retentive turn. Turns out that if one wasn't allowed to bring cleaning bleach onto a plane, a living acid dispenser was absolutely out of the question.Tensions rose, people got pissed, security got involved, it became a rather ugly mess. He was interrogated for suspicion being a terrorist, his firm was accused of being insensitive in social media circles for sending a bioweapon of all people to the assignment. The incident became of deep social embarrassment to his company and Gai was politely asked to leave. A series of unsuccessful ventures and job searches later- including starting his own firm- he ended up driving the streets at the age of 40.

Gaiki lives in his old family house with his wife and 2 children- a daughter, Sonoka (16) and a son, Shinji (14). His son is quirkless, but his daughter is not. While somewhat bored and neglectful around them, Gai does love both his children in his own way- that is, colored and tainted by his bitter outlook on life. Shinji he perceives with a contradictory sense of hope and envy- academically, his son does great, he is well-liked in school and in the neighborhood. Gaiki does dread having to pay for his college fees. Sonoka is a different beast, a problem child and troublemaker to an extraordinary degree in her high school. Gai views her bitterly, seeing her trajectory as a mirror of his and the Quirked. Yet, the 2 as the 'quirked pair' of the house share a unique bond and understanding.

Gai became a vigilante only a couple of years ago. His reasons are numerous and complicated- a desire to make a mark on the world, an avenue for his stress and bitterness, and somewhere inside, a sense of justice. But Gai's primary motivator is spite and pride, perceiving vigilantism and combatting crime as the only area where his quirk is or any benefit, where it can make him better than the quirkless, embarrassing the police and being a thorn in their sides.
Equipment: No regular equipment- Gai keeps a gun at home but he rarely takes it out to missions.
