Welcome.
The early 1800s were filled with an American education boom. Everywhere you looked, there was a brand new College or University popping up. These schools? They focused on taking children and turn them into assembly-line workers. It was an American normal, something Americans valued very highly.
This was a massive culture shock to a group of four European women who came to America, searching for opportunities to further their own passions for education. After travelling for many years across the northern states of the United States of America, they were appalled at the lack of culture shown in American schools. Most Americans they came across didn't know classics by William Shakespeare or who painted A Starry Night.
It was around the 1850s when these women decided to settle down in the state of Washington, with the vast and beautiful nature scenery, and begin their dream of bringing more culture to America. One woman in particular, Sonia Muse, spearheaded the passion project with her four closest friends & together, in the year of 1864, they opened Muse University for the Fine Arts. Only offering degrees and classes based around the Fine Arts, the women did a splendid job of cultivating young American adults' talents. It was only two years into the Muse University being up and running when they welcomed their first batch of International students.
Since then, MU has been booming and growing more successful each and every year. What started as just two departments has now bloomed into six individual departments:
Theatre Arts
Visual Arts
Musical Arts
Literature Arts
Digital Arts
Fashion Arts
Every summer, hoping students send in their application to Muse University in hopes they get the chance at an interview/audition. The University has become one of the most coveted names in the Fine Arts world, and the enrollment committee takes their job very seriously at choosing their incoming class. There is a strict image and set of morals and values to uphold in order to be a student at Muse University, and there will be consequences if your grades and your character do not reflect the values of MU.
From the Dean of Students, Joy Muse:
"This school has been in my family for generations on end. It was the dream of my great great great grandmother, Sonia Muse, to richen the American culture with the Finer things of life; Art.
On behalf of the faculty and staff at Muse University of the Fine Arts, we are absolutely delighted to welcome you to the new incoming class at our University.
We're excited to give you the opportunity to Explore your passion, Refine your craft, and Create your masterpiece."

Visual Arts
Open
Being one of the original departments at Muse University, the Visual Arts department is one of the oldest and most established department. This department houses students that are talented in classic and traditional ways of art. This department provides classes such as painting, drawing, sculpting, carving and even just introduced a new wood working class, to add another medium to their students wheelhouse of talent.
Theatre Arts
Open
The other original department of Muse University, the Theatre Arts department is incredibly rooted in the University's history and culture. What is art without recognizing theatre? This department isn't just for the actors, as the actors are nothing without those behind the curtain; Classes offered by the Theatre department, outside of acting, include set design, audio and lights, stage managing, and even stage direction and production of a play.
Musical Arts
Open
Being added right around the 1920s, the Musical Arts department is Muse University's most popular department. Most students join for the Musical Arts program for vocals, but singing is not the only talent for Musical Arts. This department includes classes for vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers, and even producers and songwriters.
Lit. Arts
Open
Branching out from the Theatre Arts department around the same time as the Musical Arts department was the Literature Arts department. This department was born out of the passion and desire for more students expressing their want to write outside of just theatre. The department has writing classes fit for novelists, poets, story-tellers, and even screenwriters.
Digital Arts
Open
Only being created at the turn of the millennia in 2000, the Digital Arts department embraces the new and shiny digital age while still respecting and upholding the traditional values of art. This new department has a wide variety of classes including; animation, photography, video and audio editing, and even the digital versions of art mediums like digital drawing, painting and 3D sculpting.
Fashion Arts
Open
Being brought into light at the same time as the Digital Arts was Muse's Fashion Arts department! This department is all about fashion & the administration have sought out to fill the department faculty full of some of the biggest names in fashion from Italy and France. Classes in this department include sewing, designing, accessorizing and styles, and of course everyone's favorite, modeling.
rules
rules.
rule one.
All RPN rules apply, please don't break them,,, I'm asking very nicely
rule two.
As I say for each and every roleplay I have, my threads both ic and ooc are safe spaces for any and everyone. So please treat everyone with kindness and respect. If there are issues, take it up in dms because the only drama I want here is between characters!
rule three.
The OOC will be through discord, which will be a link I will dm you upon acceptance of your character. Discord is a must!
rule four.
This is a college rp, meaning there will be some more adult themes throughout ooc and ic; for that reason, I am asking that only 18+ apply for the thread.
rule five.
This rule is subject to change, but right now I am going to say there is a limit of 2 characters per writer. Also, I'm going to throw out that I'd appreciate if the genders/presentations (masc/femm) are relatively even; same with the departments! If you see that there are a lot of femm presenting characters in the digital arts department, maybe you could make a masc presenting character in the literature department! Just something to keep in mind!
rule six.
Realistic faceclaims only! And I humbly request those with some sort of following or celebrity status; models, actors, musicians, comedians, youtubers, etc. Not some guy found on instagram or a cosplayer from tiktok. Thank you!
