2000 IQ Killjoy Detective
Hello, and welcome to the interest check for my new RP. This is a futuristic RP with a few fantasy elements dabbled throughout, and I'm hoping to allow plenty of player choice and freedom throughout. This is a very rough outline of the RP with better explaining of some things coming shortly, and I'll clarify any questions any one has, so please feel free to ask. Take note that the actual thread of this, if enough interest is shown, won't be up right away, and may take a month to set up.

Set in the year 2113, humanity has been struggling to stay alive after a devastating war that changed the world forever. Millions of lives were lost in the span of six months, with the end results being half of the world being completely walled off from the rest of it. Science and discovery was slowed drastically with this new challenge thrust upon them. Over six billion were forced to stay on one side of the barrier, resulting in the problem of overpopulation that everyone has feared being a real issue. Cities are crowded with apartments and littered with trash. One Over one billion are left homeless or in conditions not suitable for living. Human expansion escalated to all new heights, and the mere concept of forests and animals would be foreign to anyone just coming into the world. All space is occupied by housing, markets, or big name companies, and as a result there is no room for farms to raise animals or gardens to grow crops, with multiple forms of artificial food supplements being provided instead. While new technology is still managing to spring up, it is predicted that humanity on this side of the wall will destroy itself in the coming years, all because of one war.
However, this bloody battle was not fought between countries vying for control, but against a new emergent breed of humans that numbered just under a million. Back in the 1960's, a strange, unexplainable energy source was detected surfacing from the earths core, and later rested itself deep beneath the ground. Seeing this as a chance for great discovery, the United States government sanctioned an operation to drill into this phenomenon away from the prying eyes of the public. Finally, on April 18th, 1973, they struck their target. A large burst of blue energy spewed from the tunnel and into the sky. Satelites detected the energy spreading around the earth as it hit the atmosphere, though as far as the eye could tell it had done absolutely nothing. Scientists all over the globe tried to discover what exactly was that bright light that pierced the skies, and about one month after the event, the entire planet learned the answer.
Reports of individuals performing logic defying feats began sprouting up all over the news. People were throwing fire from their hands, phasing through walls, causing windstorms that tore up entire city blocks, and other such things that terrified those without the gift. A military order was set in place everywhere to hunt down these new super humans and eliminate them. This is the point that many historians like to say was the official start of the war, as thousands upon thousand of these people were killed over the course of a month under government orders, though it wasn't until one month after the order that these gifted began fighting back. The gifted banded together under a charismatic and intelligent leader that went by the name of Garren Holliter, and casualties on both sides began sky rocketing. It was clear that the government was outmatched, and it was cemented on one fateful day. The details have been swept under the rug, but on November 30th, 1973, a large explosion that hadn't been seen since world war 2 went off in the center of Florida, and once the smoke had cleared the state was no more. No building, no grass, no survivors, nothing. It had been reduced to a barren wasteland, so when Garren suddenly appeared on everyone's television with a request, there wasn't a single ear that wasn't listening. He requested that his people be given half of all of the earth to live in return for a ceasefire. The conditions were accepted within a matter of hours, and within the month all of the gifted humans had migrated to their given land, and within a month a barrier of unknown properties was set up to separate the two people, and that was the last most had seen of that side of the planet.
Nobody knows what goes on inside of the barrier, but it is clear that their technology far surpasses normal humans. Their involvement with humanity didn't stop, as representatives would give gifts of their inventions on a seemingly random bases. The first came at the beginning of the 21st century, with a cure for all known diseases being presented to humanity. This only lasted shortly, however, as bio terrorists quickly created new viruses and illnesses that bypassed the new cure. Gifts such as this went for a while, with most of them having practical purposes.
That is, until the year 2099, where what was given was a virtual reality arcade gaming system with no name to be put in arcades around the world. Virtual reality had become a huge phenomenon by then with arcades being commonplace everywhere and packed to the brim, but what made this one different was how realistic it felt as well as its seemingly random nature. Objectives would be as simple as get from point A to point B, all the way to eliminate specific targets within a time limit. One of the most fascinating things about it though, is that the main setting usually consisted of a forested area, and with kids having never seen forests or animals before, the game became a huge hit globally. Children and adults alike all over the world flocked to the nearest place they could play the game, with it being dubbed 'Not Applicable' by the online community.

A specific challenge would be set up in Not Applicable, and the 200 who achieve the highest scores would get a chance to see the other side of earth. The internet exploded, everyone excited and begging to win their chance at a new life. However, their has also been plenty of speculation, with one question on everyone's mind:
