Mummy: The Curse (new interest check thread)

Soooooo.

I have a new laptop - or at least one I can use until I replace the other one - and I'm a bit more settled in to my new flat and new job and being in Belfast and everything. So.

I'm still interested in Mummy, especially now Guildhalls of the Deathless is out and I *hopefully* will be picking up my kickstarted copy + screen this weekend. So I'm bringing this back up.

Any takers? Making a new thread so everyone'll get pinged for it.

Eeexcellent. As before, try and stick to the player-only sections if you haven't already read the ST stuff.

I'll be using content from Guildhalls of the Deathless as well but I haven't got it yet, so if anyone else has it I'd like to ask you about it.

This will be great; I love learning a setting by playing, and haven't gotten to do it in a while.

Well, that's like nine people who've expressed interest and I doubt I'll take on everyone, but I'm not picking players yet, so it's all good for right now.

In other news my kickstarted copy of the book came today and it's shiny and awesome and it smells nice. I also have the ST screen and picked up Guildhalls of the Deathless today, which I'm reading over now and seems to round out the rather vague guild descriptions in the core very well. I'd recommend looking over the player half for that as well.

In terms of game structure I'm kinda still up in the air, but ultimately I think unless anyone doesn't want a cult of their own for some insane reason we can work some sort of Game-of-Thrones-esque pattern of shifting loyalties and alliances among a meret of Arisen across the centuries and continents. If that appeals to people.

Also I'm probably going to start it a couple of historical periods back and work toward the modern day.

At the moment you can only buy Guildhalls of the Deathless in its entirety, but you can pick up just the player's half of the core book if you want to save money.

...any idea which historical period?

I dunno really. Maybe go by Sothic turns, maybe break it up a bit more than that. I do want to hit the Victorian period at some point. I'm open to suggestions for times and places.

Sothic Turns hits a wide range of places, and you can do a foray into the Victorian no problem, and others. Plus, who doesn't like being able to play a Mummy in Ancient Egypt itself?

Sothic turns aren't really often enough. If we are a meret, our cults could have woken us at various times. 1461 years only pings about four times in all of recorded history.
