Mountain Folk Mechanics

Does anybody know where I could find character creation guidelines and/or charms for the Mountain Folk?  I'd like to at least use some as NPCs in the future, if not an actual PC at some point (if that's even really do-able).  A good source of actual fluff on the Mountain Folk would be helpful too.

Thanks in advance!

The whole Mountain Folk shebang is to be found in the latter half of The Fair Folk, including their history since the first age, their character creation rules and a whole load of background information to go with it.

The have some neat charms that emulate sorcerous effects..

Indeed, there's no better way to bring Gnomes, Dwarves and subterranean Elves into an Exalted game. :P

I understand a future supplement will have Mountain Folk and Dragon Kings in it.

Yes scroll of esoteric Wisdom #2 I suspect it will come out in the fall. It probably is going to be another "flip-book". I'm not really sold on the flip-book style. and think it's more a gimmick than an actual enhancement..

Y I

But if it was a flip-bok, would the central pages have a big DK vs. MF battle royal? That would be a sight.

(clicking my heels) There's no place like Meru!  There's no place like Meru!

4,000,000 armed and angry dwarven soldiers can't be wrong! Backed by a work force and leadership that would put all of Creation to shame :D

Mountain Folk on the march? Bet you wish you hadn't let the advanced, magical civilisation of natural predators topple into ruin and mindless savagery now, huh, you hairy placental pinkskins?

That's it, I'm sick of Dwarves and Elves.  I'm just going to make my own wyld-mutated humans with large, some kind of natural soak, and tusks, and name them Orcs.  And then have them crush all the Sidereals and Artisan MFs.

The Mountain Folk cannot be stopped so easily.  After all, they are children of the great Machine God - crafted in wonderous glory to our Lord.  Once they have been welcomed back into the folds of the loving arms of the Steam Faction, their true purpose will be fufilled.

"Green iz best!"

"Da ting you haz to understand about da orks is, dat da orks cannot lose. If we wins we wins so dat's dat. If we runs away we is still alive and can come back so we hasn't lost den; an if we's dead we's dead so we can't do anythin' at all and so we can't lose den either!"

It's been a long time since I saw it, so the quote's probably inaccurate, but I always liked it as a philosophy.

Indeed.  I live by that philosophy.  Pity too, since 40k should honestly just be renamed to 'Marine-hammer' these days.  2037 is my projected Ork 4th edition redux.  But that's got nothing to do with Exalted.

Maybe I'll throw a curve ball at the next Exalted GM in my group, and opt to make an Ork.  On second thought...  they're probably expecting it already...  Damn my predictability at times.

Nice thing about Exalted - you want an Orc - or Ork - it's just a few Wyld mutations away.....

Wow, that spiraled way off topic :)

But, I got the message about Fair Folk and I'm working on getting the troupe's copy from the guy that owns it so I can read about them.

I agree that the basically non-existant Ork support for 40k is lame, even though I play Marines and (much more often) Tau, I have two good friends that play Orks and I absolutly love the green bastards.

'Ere we go 'ere we go 'ere we go!
