Moonlight Shadow

The clock just hit 09:00 in the morning when Jason reached the dormitory. He parked the car just under a tree and he looked up to see the building just up ahead. It was wide and 4 floors high. He got out of his red california spider and took a look around. He sighed as he let the air sink into his lungs. A new place, a new life, different faces and different stories to take part in. He wasn't that excited about the place, nor ecstatic about starting his new classes with the course he is taking in -- computer engineering. Jason isn't one of the nerds, he's just smart and passionate about computers, at least he doesn't consider himself a nerd.

He opened his car's door and took out a box filled with stuff from home, some gadgets and a frame with a family photo in it. He also took out his back pack and wore it. With the box resting on both of his hands, he started walking. Randomly nodding people passing by he made his way to the door, with his hands all occupied he waited for the door to open and he quickly sneaked in. He entered the building and it was spacious, he was presented with a huge staircase leading four floors up. There's the lounge lying there in the middle of the building where students are gathered, some guys gathered around watching a football game while wearing their own jerseys. A couple of students making out on the couch on one corner and a lot of busy feet passing by. It was like a small hotel lobby swarming with aspirations, dreams, and raging hormones.

Random strangers greeted him on his way to the third floor where his room is situated. 313, read the sign on the door, it was open and he made his way inside. Another guy was waiting for him inside while playing on an xbox. The room was partially decorated with video game and anime posters. By partially, it meant half of the room. Half of it was empty, that would be Jason's side and the other to the busy boy fully absorbed in his game.

"Uhm, hi!" Jason said as he put down the box of things on the table on his side of the room. "Damn! You stupid little prick! Yeah, that's what your momma said last night I'm uncultured!" he shouted enthusiastically on the monitor. He turned towards Jason and pressed the pause button. "Oh hey, man, I'm sorry. You must be JC! I'm Mike. Mike Callaghan." the guy said as he stood up to shake Jason's hand. "Welcome. I had your side cleaned I hope you don't mind." he said. "It's alright, thanks I guess." he answered. "I'll be back to my game, I'll just need to teach this noob a lesson and i'll give you a tour around later. We cool?" he went back to his game without even waiting for Jason's reply.

Jason fixed his things, and was set to start. Mike was now lying asleep on his bed. It was about 12:00 and he felt hungry. He decided to go out and look for something to eat.

The dorm keeps a canteen just a few meters away from the entrance. It was packed, Jason was looking around for a table with tray on his hand." He found one empty table set for two on the far corner of the canteen, he took it.

As the clock hit 9:00 in the morning. The plane landed from New York into California. A girl with long black raven hair and skin as pale as the moon stepped out on to the ground. She was going to what the Americans calk college out here. She wanted to become a Broadway star. She had a Irish accent and her sharp blue eyes made her almost irresistible. That and she had a secret that no one could know.

The pale flawless skinned girl made her way out of the airport with all her luggage. She got a taxi and told the driver to go to the university. She gave the address. She sat back relaxing and watching the world around her. It was much brighter then Ireland and not as pretty. She made a small face and sighed. When the cab pulled up, she slowly got out. She paid the man and took her luggage. She looked at the campus with confusion."Ahhh bloody Hell." She said. She walked and stopped someone."I am sorry, but I need to know. Where the urm co ed dorms are." She said in her thick Irish accent.

The guy showed her and she thanked him. She looked at the lobby filled with students she made a small frown and made her way up stairs to her room. She used her key to enter room 314. She looked around and frowned. She put her stuff on the bed and unpacked. She didn't have a roommate as she requested. She unpacked her things and spent sometime making her room look nice.

The girl Named Samantha made her way down to where everyone ate. She looked around and grabbed something with red meat in it and juice. She went to sit a almost empty table that had two guys at it. She sat at the far end to not disturb them or be disturbed.

Jason took a bite from his sandwich. He took the lid off the cup and look what was inside, it was soda. Jason couldn't drink soda because of an internal condition. He got up with his sandwich and went to the counter to have the beverage replaced. After a few explanation and complaints they have it replaced. Jason took another tray and placed his new meal on top of it. He walked back to his seat just to find it's occupied by another person.

"I'm sorry man, thought you're done."

"It's okay, no worries dude." Jason answered, still with a smile. '

His eyes wandered to look for any place empty so he could continue eating in convenience. His sight landed to another table with one girl sitting on the other end. She was a girl with long black hair, fair complexion, and a small build. She has an overwhelming aura surrounding her telling Jason to walk away and she doesn't want to be disturbed. But with his situation, he would not let it go. He walked over to her and sat across her before even saying, "Would you mind if I join you?" He fell silent as he was lost with the depth of her blue lonely eyes. There was something inside him he heard snapped. Those eyes, those cold sharp eyes.

"I'm Jason." he said finally after feeling the beating pulse on his neck.

Sam smelt a man walk over. Her mind raced, why would someone even attempt to talk to her. She was the freaky "vamp" looking girl that everyone avoided like the plague. She had spent years trying to make her self invisible or tough so no one got close to her. She made herself a loner with a happy lonely exsistance.

Sam looked up from her book at him. Her eye's were sharp and blue. She looked at him with surprise and nods for him to sit. She knew he was lost in her eyes. It was an affect of being a werewolf she was an attractive predator and savior. She watched him as he studied her and she studied him. She should introduce her self. She hated that her accent made men like her. She had to get over it though. She sighed,"Hi please sit, I am Samantha call me Sam." She said with a thick Irish accent."I am new here and I mean to the states in general." She said. She held out her warm hand.

DeathToAllBetrayers

She held out her hand to him, he wiped his hands on his pants trying to clean it from the crumbs from his sandwich. He reached out to her and their palms met. Her hand was warm, the warmest hand he had ever held. Jason had been with several girls but this girl made him kind of a little out of space. He can't pinpoint what that is that makes him uncomfortable but he somehow likes it, and her thick accent didn't help. It was so beautiful and endearing. What a sexy tone, he thought. He could never say that to a girl he just met, he didn't wanna spook her, he doesn't want to give her a rude impression of Americans.

He took another bite and then gulped some juice out of his cup. So, Sam when did you get here?" he asked with several pause, he was never this awkward but he can't seem to shake off the feeling he get that there is something off with her. She was beautiful, very beautiful but it's not with her face, not with her accent, if he's seeing it, he doesn't even know what it is.

She nods and took her hand back quickly."Today actually, Your country is very strange and the driving is different." She said. She watched him he was wary of her as he should be. She wasn't good to be around she brought trouble where ever she went."I am sorry I am not very good with people. I am sorry. I am not good for most people." She said. Her eyes watched him.

She shook her head and sighed. She hated what she was and that she pushed people away. She played with the food in her plate. She hadn't eaten all the meat and very little of the vegetables. She bit her bottom lip she shouldn't have come here. She should of stayed in the forest."may ask is there a park or woods near by?" She asked her hands started to tap on the table. She had nerves and it agitated her wolf and normally brought it out in her to the extent she wanted it to stay put this time instead of running away. "Sorry I am nervous, I just never been away from home." She said. Or her pack. She thought to herself she couldn't hear them anymore and it bugged her.

"I am sorry. I am not good for most people." The statement she made lingered on his mind for more than a few moments, he was wondering why would she say that, how can she even think of that. With her looks, she's an easy choice for an acting role. He didn't want to pry so he held it in within him, his questions, his objection.

"It's also my first time around here but I'll check." he brought out his phone, tapped fast on the screen, rendered some searches and he continued, "There's a park at the end of the forest about 3 miles from here." he answered as he watched her tapped almost excitedly on the table. "It's not exactly like the Ireland, I don't even know how Ireland looks like, but we can go check it out if you want." he said, after a few moments he realized what he had just done, he just invited a total stranger in a park, into the woods. "I mean, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a companion with new places, I mean, you could get lost or whatever. I just..." the words kept getting jumbled on his mind he can't even say a straight sentence. He placed his hand over his head on embarrassment. "I'm sorry." he said.

Sam sighed."I am sorry again."she said. She sighed standing."ummm I don't think you coming with is a good Idea. I won't get lost I have a inner tracker and a good nose." She said with a small smile."Thank you though very nice to meet you. Also Ireland is green and grey definitely not like here. How about next time we take a walk together. I just need to uh clear my head. Jetlag and all. Yeah I will catch you later." She said."oh my dorm room 314 if you ever want to stop by. Thank you again Lad. Urrmm Jason"Ksenia said. She kicked herself mentally.

She got up and walked out,she had thrown her lunch away and left her phone by accident. Alerts kept showing up. "FULL MOON"alert just kept flashing on her phone. She made a be line for the forest. She couldn't help the feeling she had. She could change any time she wanted, but on a full moon she had no control the wolf just wanted to take over and run. She made it to the forest as she reached it. She held her stomach and leaned on a big oak tree and doubled over. She was feeling sick slightly.

He screamed internally upon her rejection but sighed a really huge sigh of relief, internally, when she offered to walk around next time. He can't calm his mind down, when will that next time be, tomorrow? Next two days? Next week? Or probably next year. Surprise took over his face when she said the number of her room. That's the room next to his. His mind threw him back when he first saw the number on his dorm room, 313. 'Sure, what a wonderful college life this is gonna be. I love co ed dorms!' he thought to himself.

Even with all the excitement going through his mind, he couldn't comment on anything she said, he just smiled and agreed. He watched her as she went out the cafeteria. He downed his cup and placed it on the table, this is when he noticed the phone on the other side of the table. "Must be Sam's." It was flashing a message which read "Full Moon." His eyes squinted at the message as if trying to decipher a code or a puzzle. "Maybe she's into astronomy." he shrugged it off and put it on his pocket.

Through the crowds and passageways he made his way to the room next to his, room 314. He knocked thrice, and waited for 5 seconds before knocking again. He repeated the same sequence for 5 times. He made up his mind that she wasn't back yet and he wouldn't stay there to wait for her. He went back to the cafeteria and she wasn't there. He roamed around the grounds for several minutes to no avail. He thought that maybe she went to the park he showed her earlier.

He jumped into his car and revved it. After a 10 minute drive he found himself in the park, it looks abandoned and lonely. Not a soul can be found. He wandered across the ground and found Sam leaning on a tree, Jason ran to her. He held her by the shoulder and in a panicked voice asked her, "Are you okay? What happened Sam?" his voice filled with concern.

Sam had sunk to the ground trying to breath. She hated full moons. Her wolf made her weak and sick. She clutched at her stomach and let out a groan no one was in the park or forest which was good news for her. She was leaning back on the tree sweating. She felt her bones wanting to change and move to wolf form. She wanted to allow it but needed more cover then this.

Sam heard footsteps. She shook her head no not now. This was something she could not explain. She sniffed the air and she growled, he wasn't. Seriously following her was he. She heard him run to her it was like thunder in her ears. Everything was heightened do to this evenings activities that would commence. She breathed and opened her eyes."Jason you can't be here. Its a full moon, please you need to go I will be just fine."she said and breathed. She could hear the concern.what the hell was she supposed to say to everyone person she met. Yeah hi i am a werewolf stay away from me on full moons and any night I go to the woods. Sam was trying to be nice about this and not snap."please go run don't be here after dark."she said. She had a begging in her voice.

He can see the pain and the struggle she is in. He doesn't know what to do, he doesn't know what to say, he's freaking out as she was groaning in what seems to be a painful experience. He looked around no one was in sight, he took out his phone, and it was low battery, he regretted playing videos all the way through his trip. He remembered that her phone was with him.

"Hey Sam, what are you talking about? What happened to you?" he asked in a high tensed voice. He looked over and over around her body to see if she has wound or anything anywhere, but if there is something that's bleeding, he can't see it. "I'm calling 911." with all the things she was saying that aren't making sense to him, he was concerned all the more. All he understood was her, trying to make him go away, but Jason couldn't leave anyone like that, even more now, she's a delicate girl out of nowhere. He could not live with it if there would be something to happen to her. He could not take it. So he stayed. "Hello, hello..." he frantically said over the phone.

Sam shook her head."No." With as much effort as she could she grabbed the phone from him and held it up to her ear." An ambulance is not needed don't send one" she said and hung up."I can't go to the hospital, I can't be near people. I mean you need to go and go now. I will be fine." She said and leaned into the tree she hated the change. How it made her feel."will talk tomorrow okay. Just go." She said.

She went and moved for a line of trees. She kicked off her socks and shoes. She started to take her shirt off as she walked as well. It would keep him from following her she hoped. She took her pants off behind. A tree and knelt down. Her eye's changing. Her wolf was on Ireland time still. She groaned and let out a low yelp of pain. She slowly changed into her wolf form her bones cracking and she took her full form. She whimpered and buried her clothes. She was a large white wolf with green eyes. She sniffed around the tree and looked over at Jason. She didn't fully break the rules, but she couldn't stop the change.

He stood motionless as she grabbed the phone from him. Everything's getting weirder by the second.

She started to move and away from him, he tried to grab onto her arm but she was quicker than he'd anticipated.

Catching his breath he ran behind her through the trees, he doesn't get enough exercise, the only part of his body that are constantly in motion are his hands and fingers from using the computer too much. He was gasping for air but still tried to catch up with her, he was a few feet behind her. For a second she was gone from his sight and then appeared behind a line of trees, he was holding onto a tree for support, when he saw her started to undress. Taking her shoes and socks off first, and then her shirt. He would be glad to see her like that, he would admire how flawless she was naked but he could not. Not in the strange situation as that moment. He was confused, scared, concerned and again scared.

She took off her pants as he called tp her, "Sam! What are you doing?! " his strides were stopped by the scene he was witnessing. The pretty little girl he was following turning into a beast, a white four legged beast. She completely turned into a wolf. In an array of emotions, mostly of fear and disbelief he fell silent, jaws dropped. He tried to run but he could not move a muscle, he can't even wipe the cold sweat from his forehead, he was stunned that he could not even blink.

His heart started racing when the big white wolf turned to him. Fear covered his eyes.

Sam looked at him in her wolf form. She wanted to yell at him. She told him to run and here she was in wolf form. She growled slightly and showed her teeth. Sam was still there her wolf form was just in charge. She stepped closer to him cautiously. She had told him to run. The kid needed to listen to her. She walked forward even more.

She was hesitant at first then she wasn't. She walked closer and laid in front of him and whined. She laid her head on her paws and looked up at him. She was just like any other dog,but she was wolf. She felt bad for not telling him and freaking him out. She let out small bark like whines. She couldn't communicate in this form. She lifted a paw at him and licked her lips and nose. She was hungry, but for like meat or a wild animal in the park.

All of him was telling him that he should have walked away, he should have went back to his dorm with his nerd roommate, he should have listened to her while she was human, but now it's too late. He stood there as dead as he can be as he watched the wolf slowly closing in to him. He wanted to scream, no voice coming out, he wanted to run but his feet were buried in deep fear. Another step she was 3 feet away, he prayed to God saying sorry for everything he did or at least all the sins he could remember, two feet away, he can see his life flashing before his eyes, he regrets a lot of things m one foot away, he took a deep breath and prepared himself for a painful death. But it seems like his body has a different plan than him. As she whined close enough to tear him apart with her sharp canine he raised his hand and slowly and cautiously he touched her head. He placed it above her waiting to be attacked. He said, "Sam? Is that you? "

Sam laid at his feet. When he put his hand out to her. He said her name. She barked at him and touched his hand to her head. She looked at him with her dark green eyes. They were almost as intriguing as her blue ones. She licked his face gently. Her jaws could of killed him, but she was still aware of her surroundings. She was a protector of human life. She nudged him a little trying to not knock him off balance. She saw movement out of the corner of her eye.

Same lifted her head and looked over. It was a deer, her instincts kicked in and she crept for it growling. She jumped and took it down quickly. She ripped into the meat of the deer and ate she had been hungry and here was her meal. She licked her paw and muzzle when she was done. She looked at him and walked over. Sam laid down at his feet again and rolled to her back looking up at him. Her paws moved at him to say pet me. She barked slightly and licked his shoe.

DeathToAllBetrayers

In her beautiful new form he can feel the fear subsiding from his cheeks. He calmed down when she placed her heas against his hand and she licked him gently just as a tamed dog licks his master.

He moved away when she turned to the deer. The thoughts in his mind, still blurry and confused but they are more relaxed and that of the wondering mind. Why? Why did she became a wolf? How on earth is that possible? His mind wondered to the movie scenes recalling the movie Twilight. He's not even special like Bella. Why would this kind of thing happen to him. His ideology of life crumbled then and there.

The next thing she did to the deer made him cold. As she devoured the poor animal and blood splattered everywhere he felt nauseous and fell tp the ground. Before he passed out, he saw the beautiful white beast covered in innocent blood of red.

Sam groaned and shook her head. She dragged the deer carcass behind the trees. She saw the moon fading. With some effort she changed back and changed into her clothes. She had to use the lake to wash off the blood. She walked. Over to him and dripped clean water on him. She was going to make up a story. When he came around she smiled slightly.

"hey you okay?" She asked him."don't sit up okay. You came to give me my phone and you tripped over a tree root. You hit your head pretty hard."you been out of it for a while. Need me to call an ambulance?" She asked him. She looked at him worried. She knew this was a long shot that he believe it,but she hoped he would. He didn't need to know what she was. She had put her jacket under his head. She looked around a bit nervously she hoped this worked. She knew how to make a convincing lie and she could lie through her teeth till he believed it.

Jason opened his eyes as he woke up in the sight of Samantha calling to him. She was holding his head trying to wake him up. "Okay? What happened?" The sight he just witnessed came back to him like he was dreaming. He held out his hand and touch her face. Her skin was silky soft and flawlessly smooth, "so it was just a dream, there's no way a beauty like this could be a scary monster like that." he continued caressing her face. "I'm sorry, you said I tripped? What a lame entrance that was." he slowly stood up dusting of his behind. "No, don't worry about me, I'm okay. As a matter of fact, I'm great." he held out his hand to her "What do you say? Let's get out of here. It's getting late."

He looked around looking for the deer, he didn't find one. He looked up at the moon which was now covered, 'Full Moon' huh, he thought to himself. "Damn it was so real Sam. I dreamed that you were a werewolf. Cold blooded killer. But in all fairness, you were beautiful even as a wolf." he said.

Sam smirked."yeah boy you hit your head hard boy." She said and slapped his hand away. "Stop touching my face lad. Its a wee bit strange. And uh thanks" she said slightly offended. She was not a monster she didn't eat him."yeah you tripped." She said. She stood slowly she didn't need help up."okay as long as your okay." She said.

Her eye's glanced around. She had cleaned up and her secret safe. She breathed a sigh of relief and looked at him."Okay you must of hit your head hard if you dreamed me a werewolf." She said in her Irish accent."I am sure werewolves if they existed are not mean. The legends in Ireland they protect the people of land."she said. she walked with him. "So where to crazy American?" She asked in her Irish accent

DeathToAllBetrayers

He felt his cheeks burn when she slapped his hand away. "I... I am sorry.. " he looked down from the embarrassment and scratched the back of hiams head with his hand. He paused for a while and he tried to feel his head. He hit his head, and hard according to this girl but there was nothing, not a lump nor pain. Nothing. He got doubtful but shrugged it off when he thought of her being a werewolf.

"Yeah sure.. I might have. " he answered in a low voice.

"Classes won't start in five days right? Would you like to get something to eat? That deer made me a hungry in a weird way. " he said reminiscing the memory. "That is if... You don't mind. "

Sent from my Hypothalamus v3.03

"Yeah let's go." She said. She sighed crossing her arms. She kept her warm touch to herself. Being a werewolf made her blood warmer. She wanted to go running as a wolf. She didn't really get to with him watching her. She was a little snippy, but that was just because the moon was still up.

"Sorry I don't mean to be snippy. Just a bad day. Moving here wasn't my Idea." She said and looked at him."so what are you going to university for?" She asked him.She was slightly hard to understand with her accent.

They walked to a Burger place and she sat at a table with him. She looked over the menu with a confused look."um I have never eaten American food and I only have European money." She said and pulled it out to show him.

DeathToAllBetrayers

She apologized for being snippy, but he didn't mind. He was still thinking if all of those were dreams, even seeing her body naked, that at least he wished was real. He was interrupted by her question. "Oh...ahm I am taking up computer engineering. Got a passion with technology, and how about you? What are you pursuing? " he replied.

At the burger place they drove to, they sat on the same table, next to the window. He was surprised with her reaction over the menu. "Here, American food is all about calories, so I recommend this monster burger. It already comes with fries. The patty is made from pure beef, layered with bacon and egg. Calories overload. " he said while smiling. "And about the money, don't worry I got it. I'm surprised you got here with only those on your pocket. And you can keep them, don't go flashing money of that amount here. Okay?" he held her hand and pushed the money into her pocket.

"You came all the way from Ireland, why did you decide to go study here? Why not the big universities upstate? Why California? Is there somebody here? Family perhaps?" he asked after placing the order on their waitress.
