Pretty in Pink
otaku
Otaku is extremely negative in meaning as it is used to refer to someone who stays at home all the time and doesn't have a life (no social life, no love life, etc) Usually an otaku person has nothing better to do with their life so they pass the time by watching anime, playing videogames, surfing the internet (otaku is also used to refer to a nerd/hacker/programmer).
In the Western culture, people confuse otaku to be something positive like "Guru". If you think about it, it's not really good to be called a guru if it means you are a total loser who can't socialize with other people except through the Internet.
This is you.
Perhaps you never fit in with the rest of society since you were a child, escalating into a spiral of discomfort, anxiety and solitude that drove you to where you are now.
Perhaps you like something so very much that it became an obessesiion that you desperatly had to quench, to the point of destroying your ties to everyone else.
Perhaps something else entirely…
Whatever the reason was, you are what you are.
You could have accepted that or you refuse to abide to such a term.
That is simply how everyone sees you.
Except in...
SHOGUN
If only it was not just a game, right?...
Well, what if I told you…
…That is not no more?

This roleplay will follow the story of a group of 5-7 otaku with a love for vídeo games that end up trapped in their favorite feudal MMO.
But here’s the catch. The characters are no warriors of the feudal era. They know the name of their attacks and the lore of the game, sure enough. But what happens when someone who never picked up a bow in their life are thrust into a world that ravishes in the art of battle and adventure?

q&a
What kind of game is SHOGUN?
This game, set in the fictional country of Ikigai (temp), will be your typical MMO RPG, where your character will assume the role of the avatar they made. You complete quests, talk to NPCs, enjoy what the world has to offer and go through the story of the game.
What are you exactly looking for in this roleplay?
I’ll be clear from the get go: if you think this roleplay will be just an alternate version of SAO, forget it. No mary-sues or self-inserts of any kind, I want flawed and original characters that will go through character development. No needless drama, I want a character-driven story that is light-hearted but can have its serious moments, even better if it includes a satirical spice to it. No weaboo or saturated anime tropes, better yet, scratch that, use them as a means to show how shallow and cringy those concepts are. If you make a NPC character, make them interesting and relevant, not generic and simplistic. Was that clear? Good.
What classes are available?
If we do achieve our minimal number of people to join this roleplay, I will be making a list of the classes that you can choose from. Think samurai, shrine maidens, ninjas, …
