Anime & Manga Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun

Larry

Your resident on-and-off bibliomaniac!
Have many of you watched the anime itself? I took it up on Sunday and finished on Monday...at around 3:00 AM in the morning! I was knackered during school but it was worth it. Nozaki, Sakura, Mikoshiba, Hori, Kashima, Seo and Wakamatsu are all extremely funny characters in themselves as I soon came to realize how great a comedy-anime this was.

If you haven't watched it, I would recommend very much so. If you have, what are your thoughts on it?

Ooh, such a good anime this is! I found it through Tumblr, actually, finding several GIFs, and seeing Mikoshiba and thinking, "Who is this guy? He is me." And then I looked it up and marathoned the whole thing in a day.

It was a rather hilarious anime, and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to...almost finish. It was full of jokes regarding shoujo anime/manga tropes, which caught my attention immediately, as someone with a bit of an obsession with the shoujo genre. So many concepts are repeated again and again in romantic stories, shows, and movies—but if you messed them up even slightly, what would happen? Well, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kunis what appears to have happened, which is another reason I found it so enjoyable and amusing. I did, however, find the ending a bit unprofessionally-executed and not the greatest—however, that is only an opinion, so I'm sure others disagree.

To be honest with you...I did the exact same thing!

But I can understand why you're disillusioned with the ending, I wasn't a fan of it myself and it was somewhat...blunt. But the anime itself was brilliant from end-to-end! The characters, this is a strange thing now, you wanted to seem them develop their relationships with everyone. I was hoping for Kashima and Hori to spend a bit more time with each other for the reactions, and to see if anything else would transpire. It was strange all right because I never usually want to see characters get together!

I agree with you both completely! I wished there had been a different way that they carried out the ending for the anime, i felt as if I had been left with too many ships that I didn't know for sure if any of them would sail or not, if you get my analogy. Overall, however, I had finished the entire series in a day after binge watching it >w< Kashima's character was a new one for me and it was really refreshing, she was hilariously so masculine and princely that I was actually proud that she had been created that way, and same goes for Mikoshiba. It was such an interesting group of characters and I was sad when I had finished the season feeling a bit empty and unsatisfied.

I loved that series. I've been a shoujo girl as long as I can remember. The ending made me kinda mad though. Still, I really enjoyed the series overall. Now, if I could find something similar...

OMG OMG OMG *hyperventilates* My thoughts on it? Out of 10 I give it a *✲゚*。✧٩(・ิᴗ・ิ๑)۶*✲゚*。✧...I want a second season right now. The end tho, I want to bang my head on a wall, I mean seriously, we need to talk Nozaki...Loved all the characters they were pretty unique in there own strange ways and I loved them <3 I found Sakura so cute, especially when it comes to nozaki, I also loved her wtf face, and her reactions. For Mikorin he was just so precious, I want to keep him in my pocket, tsuns ftw! Nozaki was a pretty random character(Umeko), but hey I liked him too, especially when he does things with such a straight face, it's not mentioned yet but I also want to give him props for his manga characters (Suzuki and Mamiko) I felt the scenes when they appeared, hilarious. I thought Seo was a amazing, I want to be her friend she had me cracking up, and I thought her relationship with Waka adorable, god if only he knew that Lorelei was her >.> I found Hori and Kashima's relationship great too, if only I had a senpai or kouhai like that, Kashima was funny liked her character a lot especially when she wants the attention of her senpai =u=. Truthfully I think this was practically one of the only anime's where I actually loved all the characters, this is definitely one of the best anime's I've enjoyed ^_^ I also liked the tanuki's.

Though I've actually read the manga even before the anime, I thought the anime really executed the manga well, it did it justice, well except the end.

If anyone's still interested the manga is still ongoing, I also recommend the other manga series by the author (btw it also doesn't have the scene at the end of the anime so...yea)
