Fantasy Monstrous Society (Private)

The world around Fenris could be described in a single word, cold. It was hard to put it in any other words that might give off the feeling of acceptance, but when you weren't human or a monster there was no such thing. Even if he was a full blood monster, what sort of life would he be able to live? Most jobs that hired monsters wouldn't even be enough to move out of the rat filled slum Fenris was forced to live in. A lot of people thought the city's acceptance of monster kind would make some sort of difference; one in which they could finally work and become equals to man. However, that seemed like some sort of joke now. Humans only wanted them because they knew that they were desperate to be seen as the same.

It was lie looking at all of the places that Fenris walked pass. Small signs hung in every shop with the same words as their neighbor. 'Humans Only.' If this was equality, it wasn't much different from the small forest village he grew up in. The only difference being that these people tried to make themselves look like kind, helpful individuals by small changes. One change being the allowance of monsters into human schools. Fenris simply snorted at the prospect as he walked towards the high school, a few humans scowled at him but he just kept his hands in his pockets. Claws biting into the flesh of Fenris' thighs as he stopped at the entrance of the school. Sharp eyes stared at the paper sign someone had crudely written and hung up. "Monsters go home..." The half-breed only shook his head as he grabbed the page. "I would if I could, but I can't. So whoever wrote this can go piss off."

Shouko had been stared at all the way to school, now front to school, there was that sign. She nervously looked at it, her feelers twitching around. She made a crackling sound and shook her head. "Whats wrong with those... what did I do to them... why does everyone stare...", she nervously spoke to nobody particular.

Fenris just gave off a low growl as he shredded the paper up. "They're staring because they've never seen a mantis up close." His voice was rough with annoyance as he looked around at all the people staring at him and the insectroid. "Don't mind them. They just like to eye up potential victims." Fenris only looked over at the girl with curious eyes. Pointed ears and a slightly deformed muzzle clearly showed that he was a half-breed.

Lucifer quickly stepped out of the sleek, black Mercedes-Benz that had dropped her just a few blocks away from her new school. She quickly waved the driver off, that being his signal - to put crudely - get lost. She quickly started to walk to her school, her light blue hair flowing behind in the light breeze that had decided to grace the city. A new school, huh...? One that monsters go to as well. She bit her lips as she thought about the idea of monsters going to the same school as her. This would be her first time attending a mixed school like that, and she couldn't tell whether she was nervous about it, or anticipating the experience.

Reaching the school gates, she blinked in surprise when she saw two peculiar looking figures standing at the entrance. One of them was completely green, and somewhat reminded her of a human-ish mantis. The other was a bit more humanoid, but had a muzzle full of long, sharp teeth and pointed ears. The rest of the students - who were humans - were blatantly staring at the two. There was unconcealed malice in their expressions, an open display of hate.

She was close enough to hear the two monsters' conversation, which was a discussion about the leering, whispering humans.

Lightly chuckling to herself, she directly walked up to the two in long, confident strides. The whispering grew louder, as the rest of the students stared at her with a "what-the-hell-does-she-think-she's-doing" expression on their faces.

"Humans tend to be rude like that, don't they?" She said to the two, her light blue eyes filled with mischief. Her posture didn't give a hint of fear or rancour that most people tended to exhibit when interacting with monsters.

Fenris stared at the new figure for a few seconds. His nose scrunched up for a second in a display of annoyance. "More so when they jump into a conversation." His mouth barely moved as he spoke, teeth moving up and down in small increments were the only sign that he was even talking. Orange eyes stared into the human's pair as he talked to the mantis once more.

"
I suggest trying to make yourself seem more like a threat if you don't want them to try bug spray on you." Fenris soon opened the glass door that lead into the school. His ears perking up as a few other people whispered their complaints about the monsters.

Shouko headed both speak, but the people staring discomforted her. The blade-like claws at her wrists were sure intimidating enough just being there, but now she raised them in usual mantis manner.

"V-victims? Let them come! I can defend myself!", she stated. The girl seemed to have a natural status of nervousness.

"Aw, such an irritable little baby," Mocked Lucifer, as the male left the conversation, and walked into the building. She was amused by his reply. Such an impulsive display of hate. She turned to the remaining monster - the mantis-like humanoid. According to its voice, Lucifer guessed that it was a female. "Really? I don't think you can talk properly at this point." Her tone of voice was not unkind. She said it in a more matter-of-fact kind of way. "Hate attention? Big claws and bigger heart, maybe? Although, the last question is usually not applicable to... you know, your kind."

Shouko made her claws sink again. "I... I just want to be treated like everyone else!", she said. Shouko pretty obviously was female, at least for her kind she was. But she looked pretty humanly adter all, so a closer look would show what gender she had.

Just then a little girl arrived next to them. She was a squirrel like being, but obviously halfbreed. "
Don't be like everyone. Be yourself. Be unique. Then people can accept you. Except they are dumb. Thats what mother always said.", the girl stated.

Jacob and Kali Hersht were walking down the street to the new school that they were heading to, while Kali was being sent there to get a good education and maybe make some human friends Jacob just wanted to come to protect his cute little sister. He wanted to keep an eye on his sister and he would hurt anyone that even looked at her the wrong way granted she always had giant floating hands behind her for some reason but that was his role as the older brother. "Hey Kali do you mind shrinking those hands down" Kali looked up to Jacobs monotonous face saying plainly "No, no one has said I had to" "Well Dad put me in charge so shrink them down" as they reached the gate Kali sighed in defeat before he giant paws shrieked down to the size of a normal pair of hands. "Now that's better isn't it" Jacob said happily while Kali just sighed about how immature her older step brother could be.

As they were past the gate Jacob saw three people one was a normal human female with light blue hair and a nice body, the next one was a mantis female that didn't look bad either in fact she looked great for her race in his eyes and the last one looked like squirrel furry that looked around 9 or 10. So he made his way over with Kali even though she resented being in the open since people were staring at her whispering comments on how cute she was even though she could pick up those whispers easily with her big ears, Jacob just ignored them and dragged her over literally until he reached the three saying
"Hey...I'm Jacob....you guys must be new here to...what's your name" he was panting a bit because his sister was strong as hell with her legs that's why he always trained himself just to catch her when she ran.

The mantis nervously turned, the feelers twitching. She was blushed in embarrassment. "Please dont stare... please..", she muttered.

Meanwhile the squirrel halfbreed started to brush her tail, so that it would remain fluffy.

Jacob was confused he just got here and she was already intimidated by him. Why it's not like he did anything right? So he tried coming up with something to calm her down so he said "How could I not stare at some as beautiful as you" he hoped he made her feel a little better from that at the least.

Kali went up to the little squirrel saying
"Hey what's your name, I'm Kali Hersht" her ears twitched a little waiting for the girls answer.

Viridia gently bit her lip as she looked around for Fenris. The half-breed promised her that he walked with her when she showed up, yet here she was all alone with a bunch of humans staring at her. Her mother had gone out of her way to make something nice for Viridia to wear today, a nice rose petal dress with an orchid top, and here the nymph could hear the mocking whispers from fellow students. She rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet for a moment, the concrete felt awful on her soft skin. "Fenris, where are you...?" Viridia's voice was soft as she just walked past the humans. A few actually reached up to try and pull her hair even!

The girl couldn't wait to just get away from all of these people. Her books clutched tightly as she made her way up to the entrance. A small group of people seemed to be blocking the door though. Amber yellow eyes glanced at the group before she coughed lightly towards them. "
Excuse me, but can you please move?" Viridia's voice was gentle as she talked to the entirety of the group.

"Well, this conversation has taken... an interesting turn. Should I start thinking up the ship names?" The blue-haired female spoke, feeling quite entertained by the group of people. Who knew that she would meet such interesting people? That was when a new voice spoke, feminine and soft. Turning towards the speaker, Lucifer's eyes slightly widened at the sigh of the person in front of her. She was entirely green, with marking of a deeper shade of green, and golden all over her skin. Her eyes were a vivid amber yellow. Well, she looks odd and beautiful at the same time. And I adore that dress.

"My apologies for blocking your path." She said, as she stepped aside so that the green female could pass through. "I love your dress, by the way." She didn't know what she had been expecting of an encounter with monsters - but it definitely wasn't a polite conversation. She was half-expecting a tea party next.

Shouko blushed even more, though she seemed confused. "Ship names? Like Titanic? ", she asked confusedly. She did not know the meaning of a ship as hyping a relationship.

Jacob blushed a little at the mention of that saying "oh no no there is no need for that we only just met...besides what is your name" he said as his blush went down and he chuckled at the cluelessness the mantis girl had. As he was chuckling he moved away for the girl to get through that had asked him politely.

Kali looked at the squirrel girl saying
"My name is Kali Hersht" she said stiking her hand out for a hand shake.

The mantis smiled. "Oh yeah, my name is Shouko. Nice to meet you...", she muttered. She seemed to be really shy around that guy as he was the first human to ever be nice to her like that. "Are... we friends... now?"

Viridia smiled and blushed a dark forest green shade towards the human. "Thank you, I like your hair." The nymph seemed rather happy by the fact that someone had actually complimented them. Her hands already started to push open the glass doors gently as made her way in. Viridia's small feet felt as if they were ready to give up on the poor girl. Looking back at the group with amber eyes she gave them a gentle piece of advice. "Classes start in five minutes, I suggest going to class."

"Titanic? No, I meant your relationship name, dearie." Said Lucifer, chuckling lightly. "But yeah, lover boy here wants to take things slow." She was making fun of the boy in an almost serious manner. Owing to this, most people had a hard time figuring out whether she was joking or not. She shot a small smile at green female when she complimented Lucifer's hair. "Thank you." She replied.

She looked at her watch when the girl advised them to get going to class.
"Oh, you're right." Lucifer mumbled, frowning slightly. She turned to the group of people that had gathered there. "To answer your question, we're still acquaintances but friendship is something that we can easily attain. I like you people," She said in reply to Shouko. Then she addressed the entire group. "Like she said-" she nodded towards the green female, "we should probably get going to class. Don't wanna make a bad impression on the first day itself, do we?"
