-BEASTS-
Beholder, "Eye Tyrant"
Class: Guardian, Flying, Sentient, Loner
Habitat: Subterranean, Caverns / Dungeons.
Rarity: Uncommon
Weaponry: Teeth, Magic
Size: Medium to Large
Language: Common, Undercommon
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Beholders, or Eye Tyrants, are a subterranean-based species commonly associated
with hoarding treasures. Each Beholder usually has its small pack of minions,
most placed under their eye's charm spells. Using their minions, they find and raid
other subterranean species of their riches and power.
Beholders are very narcissistic creatures, often believing that they themselves are
the perfect example of supremecy. With this belief, many Beholders clash and wage
small wars using their minions, although the wisest Beholders (who're usually the oldest)
know that keeping isolated is the best way to protecting one's hoard of jewels.
They possess a variety of color and types of skin, but all possess the same basic build:
The central eye, where charming spells and other kinds of magic are casted, and the
smaller eyes, where magic missiles are fired from the beast. When one of it's many
tentacle-like appendages are severed, another may grow in the next minute.
Bullet, "Land Shark"
Class: Guardian, Landbound, Loner
Habitat: Varies, often Beaches
Rarity: Uncommon
Weaponry: Sheer Strength
Size: Medium to Large
Language: Non-sentient
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Bullets, often simply referred to as "Land Sharks", are very aggressive creatures mostly
noted for their viciousness and their valuable plate-like scales. They're often hunted
down by professionals seeking to collect their scales, used to craft siege weaponry
and armors alike.
Another uniqueness to the lone hunters are their multiple strategies for hunting prey.
Most young Bullets will bury themselves under a beach's sand, and await for a wandering
animal to pounce. Adult Bullets may use their developed camoflauge to wait nearby
a road or path, ambushing any who pass by. Instead of relying on their claws, Bullets
will often use their armored body to simply crush their prey to death, eating their corpse
afterwards.
Owlbear
Class: Guardian, Landbound, Pair
Habitat: Forests, Tundra
Rarity: Rare
Weaponry: Claws, Beak
Size: Large
Language: Non-sentient
Alignment: Neutral
Owlbears are often found in migrant pairs within large forests or around
them. They hunt deer, fish, and other similar fauna. Not particularly hostile,
they are much more so when a cub is produced. After reaching adulthood,
a cub will separate from it's parents.
While they used to be somewhat common in Elvish lands, their number has
been decreasing due to constant poachings and lack of food supply due to
much hunting.
Their razor-sharp claws can cut through almost any natural material, and
their feathers give them a resistance to magic and other natural forces such
as extreme heat or cold. Owlbears use their powerful beaks to often catch
fish, but it can also be used to send out a sound-wave strong enough to knock
an opponent to the ground. Not only this, but their beaks are also very flexible
and are able to pierce most flesh.
-HUMANOIDS-
Human
Class: Blessed, Sentient
Habitat: Varies
Weaponry: Technology, Aura
Size: Medium
Language: Common
Alignment: Varies
Humans, the most influential of all species within their homes,
they're known for their display of both ruthless greed and genuine
courage and love. Most notably disliked by other races for their
brashness and superiority complex, humans are often criticized
for their constant obsession with expanding their influence.
While their body-build is of a very balanced mix, a humans power
lies within their unique ability, their Aura. While other creatures
all possess Auras, humans seem to have great control over them,
and each human's aura varies in power. When put to use, auras
can be used to increase physical capabilities, power the aura-user's
weapon-at-hand, and call upon a unique power often related to
the human's chosen deity.
Gifted with this power, some humans consider themselves to be
naturally above other species. However, this doesn't mean that
there's a shortage of equalists either. Either way, they're generally disliked.
Vulcan, "Elf"
Class: Bound, Sentient
Habitat: Varies
Weaponry: Technology, Magic
Size: Medium
Language: Elvish
Alignment: Varies, often ____ Neutral
Vulcans, or Elves, are a somewhat reclusive species. However,
most would not guess this fact simply based on the fact that
they're the second most dominant people below Humanity.
Often working together with their similarly-built rivals, they
possess an often tall-build, their pointy ears standing out amongst
most of their features. All Vulcans have a certain birthmark,
where their magic lies dormant until called upon. When a Vulcan
uses their magic, this mark will often glow or react in a similar way.
However, another part of their major attributes is their green blood
and minor regeneration.
While all Vulcans possess a natural ability to manipulate the
god-bound abilities of magic, their overall power and the types
of magic they're limited too or excel in are based in what sub-class of
Vulcan they are. The two most common and powerful are the
eternally clashing High Vulcans (simply called Vulcans or Elves), or
the disdainful Dark Vulcans (or Dark Elves), also nicknamed "Drow."
While Vulcans possess a varying power in magic, they're able
to cast all kinds of it, often excelling in just one kind of magic relating
to their personality. Drow, on the otherhand, only specialize in
Destructive magic and Psionic abilities. While they are only limited to
these two, they're extremely powerful magi.
Orc, "Greenskin", "Defiled"
