Waves a crashing

The ocean can be rough to newcomers, but in this world the ocean is everywhere, there is hardly any land and where there is land, it is rare to come by. Most of the land that is accessible is on top of these giant beings that roam the waters, some have been man-made others formed naturally. The main source of land are the behemoths that have the only natural soil on this planet. These behemoths also can grow fruits, house wildlife, and can even hold rare minerals and materials. So the humans have come to terms with them and created a symbiosis with the smaller giants, the larger ones can be unpredictable and so far there is no real way to communicate with them, human voices are too soft-spoken to be heard by these incredibly large monster. Other means of communication show no effect or are ignored.
The man-made ones are operated by humans, they are about the size of a small country say Madagascar or Australia. They are few in numbers as they have taken people years to make and form into not only hospitable land but also drivable mechs. There exists only two on this planet and their names are Oor and Araia. Because of this, the humans have to go in search for behemoths that would allow a symbiosis with the humans or find a hulking behemoth to try and talk to or conquer.
Specially design naval units have been made to traverse the waters with great speed, and also have the capacity to hold about 6 people comfortably with many days of rations. They are small and are able to dive below the waters, in case great waves form from the behemoths, that would break any normal ship that tried to conquer the waves.
Only people who train under the Land Scouting Task Force are able to man these ships. Their sole mission is to find some more land, resources, and means of survival for the rest of the human race. Until one day we can create a place where all humans can grow and thrive.
