The US military, desperate for a victory, began designing super soldiers. At first, androids but once they proved a success, they began human testing. 95% of experimented humans survived... the other 5% died due to an incompatibility with the serum. The humans that survived were eventually trained and inducted into the military, either Navy, Army, Air Force or Marines, it was their choice.
(Between worlds...)
Soon though, the experiments began turning on their benefactors, going rogue but with a common goal. The US government soon sought the assistance of Germany, Russia and Japan, who wholeheartedly agreed and started development of a 'Rogue Hunter' android while simultaneously fighting the extraterrestrial threat.
(A league...)
This extraterrestrial threat grew stronger over the span of 5 years and as the humans who were experimented on reproduced, the exponent of natural supernatural births went up by 21% or 5 years. Natural super humans became a common sight and the use of experimentation on humans was slowly outlawed by all nations and eventually accepted by the national governments to help combat the looming threat.

The tension of 5 years has not yet relieved but everyone got ready to fight the impending doom they faced. A further 2 years later and still nothing, tensions grow and old wounds tore open. However, the lack of an attack sparked an uncertainty in most, leaving them to ponder if this is intentional by the extraterrestrials.
