Dear Yo,


I was recently invited to Shosuro lands, where the lord insisted we approach his castle through a maze, of all things. Why, I don't know...something about history, and puzzles... All I know is the only "puzzle" we encountered were three shadowspawn attacking us as we came upon a crazed Kitsuki trying to dig something out of the ground, which turned out to be a crystal wakizashi. This weapon is now in my possession, and Hiruma Mai-san and I used it and her fire spells to "solve" this shadowspawn "puzzle." Once the battle was over, the Kitsuki as good as admitted being a Kolat agent, and I immediately placed him under arrest. We attempted to question him but didn't get much out of him, so we left that to those more suited to the task. I requested that I be present for his questioning, as I wished to determine if any of his superiors in that blasphemous organization were members of our clan, so that we might begin to root out this evil in our lands. The only Mantis he named was Tsuruchi (name goes here). He also named a Yasuki and an Ikoma. I fear that he may not be very high up in the organization, as Mai-san has informed me that, historically, the Kolat are much more subtle. At least we were rewarded with an excellent meal and celebration once we finally got out of that infernal maze.


I hope that you are well. I very much look forward to being able to escape my duties for a brief period of time and return to Mantis lands. I miss having the pleasure of your company.

I attended the party as instructed. The maze was boring and droll, and the history contained within simplistic. No wonder the Scorpion have no appreciation for the constant vigilance and sacrifices of the Crab Clan! They're clearly too busy building stupid mazes.


However, in a more exciting note, we were attacked by shadow spawn. Of course, the faithful Hida bushi, Kumo and Anzu, rapidly dispatched them with no trouble at all. The food at the scorpion castle was excellent, as could be expected from a clan who builds its fortunes and feasts while crab bushi valiantly give their lives daily to keep the empire safe. There was not even a single mention of the Wall and those that gloriously fight upon it!


Also, we caught a suspected Kolat. He was tortured and executed. There was a Kakita that was suspected of darkness taint as well. Recommend that if he enters crab lands, he be detained for ... questioning by the Kuni.
