By god, i may be one of the only people who still like and try to do realistic military RP, but im hoping i can find people with good experiences with it. So share experiences of military RP, are you new to it? Was it likeable? How did you start doing it?

I've always been a fan of military/police/secret agent oriented rp. However, most of the ones I've been in are sci-fi based.

This isn't to say I'm uneducated in the way an actual military operates. I'm a big military buff (even though I'd never consider joining one in real life. Such a coward.)

Man, I love me some Military roleplays! I'm currently working on a roleplay set during The Second World War. ​

I like (semi?)-realistic military elements in roleplays, but not stuff that's based off of real wars. Military stuff based in dystopian and post-apocalyptic settings are fun, as well as stuff involving paramilitary groups and stuff. I like to have more flexibility when it comes to managing military groups, since my universes are fictional. I would probably never do a roleplay based off a real-world military or war.

It's also good to roleplay low-ranking characters, since it tends to be more realistic if you don't know a lot about military stuff irl.

Anyway, I've done military RP stuff on Gmod before. Starship Troopers and Half-Life 2 based.

Your... one of them? The GMod roleplayers.. Their a forbidden group, their ways are disgusting. Their screeches can be heard across the nations!

Don't try and duel one, they'll deafen you before you can even raise your gun, the bullets aren't even the worst thing to come to GMod. Armies have flocked over to GTA 5 but they'll soon come back and take revenge on those who banned them off the server..

It's only a matter of time until they invade us too.

You can try searching the basics of military online. You can change the search, depending what type of character you want to create. I would start with this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military

If you're more specific, I can offer better sources. Although, I've no experience doing a realistic military RP.
