Memories Are Forever (1x1 with YukiUchiha)

Lexus

Ten Thousand Club
The photo album Clay had found while going through the kids things in the attic now laid between his legs, the plastic pages filled from beginning to end. He had forgotten about this little treasure he had stored away at Ashley's passing wanting to preserve it for when he was ready to tell the tales the kids had been dying to hear for ages. This, this told their story from it's beginning to it's tragic end. He had just flipped the inside cover to the first page of memories when the three came running in. "How many times have I told you-" you didn't get to finish his lecture, when he looked up from the page he saw they all came to a halt at the sight of what he had in his possession. "Ahh, I found something to catch your attention have I?" He asks with a content sigh, "Come here then," he says motioning them towards him. "Let's take a trip down your dear old dad's memory lane with your mom.

(I did it right this time xDD)

All three kids looked at the book of photos and then Rylan sat next to his dad while Allie and Cory sat on the floor. Rylan looked at the picture and said, "Y'all look so young. Like 6. Was this when you and mom met?" He asked and Allie and Cory saw the picture. There mom wearing a cute little sundress with icing in her face and Clay had icing too. "A party... Who's?" Allie asked. They looked so cute. They all missed their mom but had been waiting to hear these memories from their father for what felt like ever now.

(Yay!~)

"Your mom was six, I was a little older." He gently placed his fingers over the covering smiling at how innocent the two had been. He remembered how shy she was towards him at first, he knew now it was because up until that point she didn't have anyone who believed she was worth something. He took her hand and brought her out into the light, "it was your Uncle Gaven's party, I remember it like it was yesterday."

Ashley was new to this town and well being country didn't help her any. Her parents were friends with Gavens since they were young so it was only natural for her to go to his party. She walked in and handed Gaven his gift then stayed inside while the other kids went outside. She sat in the play room and just kept to herself. She was just terribly shy.

Clay had been standing next to Gaven, his best friend when he saw the little girl run up to Gaven and handed him a gift. He had never seen her before, he turned to Gaven confused as they all headed outside and he frowned when she didn't follow. "Who's that?" He asks looking back at her through the glass door she was standing behind.

"My moms friends daughter. I don't know her name. She's new but she's country and she sounds really weird." Gaven said as Jenna walked over to the three. "Course she sounds weird she's from deep down in the heart if Texas y'all." Jenna said in the best southern accent she could give and Gaven laughed a little to hard then needed. Ashley stayed inside looking at her feet. She hated being here. She hated ever being born in general.

Clay didn't particularly like that they were making fun of the girl, she looked younger than them and it didn't seem nice to make fun of her because she was different from them, even though that's what kids third age often did Clay's mom taught him to not judge someone by their outside and the new girl peaked his interest. He had never been to Texas before and he wondered what she was like. Suddenly he found his feet leading him to the door leaving his friends behind.

Gavens mom was walking out with the hotdogs for the kids and looked at Clay as he walked over. "Oh Clay, the foods ready honey. Make sure you eat okay?" She said unaware that Ashley wasn't even outside. When then door opened, Ashley could hear people making fun of her because she was different. She sighed and felt like she wanted to cry. She just wanted to leave. She didn't belong here. She didn't belong anywhere.

Clay nodded at Gaven's mom before closing the door behind him and sporting Ashley in the corner looking upset. She must have heard what the others have said. If she would have looked up she would have seen his apologetic expression, but she didn't look up at him, he wasn't sure she even realized he was in the room. He quietly took a seat across from her on the floor. "The food's outside, if you're hungry I can bring you something back in." He want going to force her to go outside because he knew what would happen. Right now he just wanted to at least let her know he wasn't like the rest.

When Ashley heard a voice, she looked up at Clay in confusion. He was talking to her? Why? She was the country girl. The one with the stupid and weird accent. "I'm not really hungry but thanks anyways.." She said in her deep southern accent and then looked away from him. She bit her lip and then said, "Ya don't got to be in here ya know. I don't mind being alone." She began to play with the hem of her dress in the bottom with her fingers.

"I know that I don't have to be here," His voice gentle and soft. "I came in here on my own, my mom says no one should ever feel alone and I thought you might need a friend, my name is Clay, what's yours?" He asks smiling at her when she finally looked up at him, her eyes were pretty and her accent made her look even cuter.

"A-Ashley..... Ashley Valentine." She told the blonde male as her brown eyes fell made eye contact with his blue ones. They were beautiful. She still didn't know why he wanted to be her friend. "Y-ya don't have to be my friend ya know. I don't want the other out there makin fun of ya." She told him and sighed.

Clay shook his hand at them as if to say who cares about them. He knew his best friends would come around eventually. "Well Ashley, as your friend you should know I do things because I want to not because other people tell me to and I want to be your friend." He offered her a smile. "Are you sure you're not hungry? I can still bring you something or you can come play some games with me, I'll protect you from them."

Ashley blinked at Clay and said, "I-I am kind of hungry..." She looked away from Clay again and back down at her feet. She still didn't see why he wanted to be her friend. It was weird. "A-and games d-do sound fun.." She added in a barley audible voice. She knew Clay would protect her but she still didn't want to go out there and have the others say things about her. It would bug her just like when her mother used to call her a mistake.

Clay smiled again, "Then let's go." He said holding bout his hand to help her to her feet. When she took it hesitantly he gripped it for a moment as reassurance before letting to. "No worries, I promise." He then opened the door and led her outside towards his friends.

Ashley followed Clay out and looked at the ground the minute she heard someone say something about her. Gaven and Jenna were talking when they looked over at Clay and saw Ashley. Jenna laughed, "Where did you pick up the rodeo girl Clay?" She said and Ashley stayed looking at the ground and gripped her dress in her hands. "For real. Did ya round her up from a barn?" Gaven said in his southern accent and Ashley gripped her dress tighter, then Ivy came and looked at Ashley. "Oh you're the girl born and raised in a barn." She said and that was the last thing Ashley needed to make her cry. "I have to go..." She said and turned around the ran back inside the house and ran over to her dad and hugged his leg right as she cried. He looked down and squatted to be at her level and hugged her close.

Clay frowned angrily at his friends. "Why are you being so mean? Just because she is different doesn't make her bad. She seems nice, she's just shy. You should at least give her a chance!" With that he walked off to the food table and walked back inside to Ashley seeing her hugging her dad. "I brought you some food," he didn't want to interrupt but he wasn't going to give up on making Ashley feel welcomed, at least by him. "Would it be okay if I ate with you?"

The three friends looked at each other dumbfounded by their friends remark. What had gotten into him? Ashley's dad looked at Clay and smiled then let go of Ashley and kissed her forehead. "You'll be okay alright?" He whispered to her and Ashley nodded as sniffles could be heard from her. She turned around and looked at Clay as she wiped the tears away from her eyes. "S-sure." She said and took the plate of food from him. "T-thanks." She added and Gavens mom told her they could sit in the play room. There was a little table there and Ashley sat down, staring at her lap.

(He's being so gentlemen like.[emoji4])

Clay left bad that his friends were the reason Ashley was crying, he wanted to help. He nodded at her thanks and followed her in the okay room. When she resorted to looking at her lap instead of him again he spoke, "I've never been to Texas, is it nice there?" He figured if he talked about what she found comfort in she would come around and give him trust.

(I know it's too cute. [emoji4])

"Yeah it's beautiful really. If I ever get the chance I'll take a with me next time. There's beaches and everythin but I love the country side more if that wasn't already obvious." Ashley said. She surprised herself with how much she spoke and told him. She was so shy this side of her never really came out.

He laughed softly at how excited she got over the topic and nodded. "It sounds nice, I'll go if you want me to." He smiled and took a bite out of his hot dog feeling like he succeeded even in the slightest if she was already inviting him to her home.

"Of course id want you to go. You are my friend after all right?" She said with a smile and began to eat her hot dog that Clay so thoughtfully brought for her. She made a friend. She didn't care what others thought of her now. If Clay was her only friend then so be it. She was content with just Clay. Gavens mom walked over and gave them a piece of cake. "The kids already sand happy birthday without us but here's y'all piece." She said and Ashley thanked her then looked at the icing. She got it on her fingers and wiped it across Clays face with a smile and a laugh.

Clay wasn't expecting Ashley to do such a thing but couldn't help but laughed at her. Leaning over to her side of the table he dipped his hands in his own icing and did the same.

Ashley gasped and laughed softly as Gavens mom walked over and laughed at the two. "Do you mind if I take a picture of you two?" She asked with a smile and Ashley looked at Clay asking if it was okay.

Clay nodded his head in okay scooting closer to her with a laugh."I'm gal you're here Ashley." Clay says with a smile in a whisper turning towards the camera.

"And that's how your mom and dad met." Clay concluded the memory with a bright smile turning towards the kids.
