Meeting the reaper

"For se...leeping, yes. A big bed would be the best." She blushed softly, burying her face in the mass of fluffy fur of the cat. In that moment, she felt like a mother, proudly carrying her baby.

Upon seeing the look on Jack's face, a hint of annoyance rose in her,"Anything you say to him, you can tell me." Kath's bright eyes bored into them, extracting truth from them like a tap for extracting tree sap.

Death sighed. "Just about marriage..." He said looking at jack. Jack yawned. He was still a little tired. He looked over at her and smiled.

A grin covered her face once more,"Oh, you two can keep whispering then." It was pleasant to know that Jack had been listening to her in the nights that they'd spent together.

They stopped whispering after a moment. Jack looked at her. "Ready to go?" He asked looking at her with a smile. He looked at the cat she was holding.

The devil nodded enthusiastically, swaying slightly with the cat in her arms, able to feel its pulse beneath her fingers. How strange it was to hold a tiny being that brimmed with such love.

Jack nodded and said goodbye to his father then started walking out the doors and back into the portal. He looked at the cat and smiled.

Kath waved to Death, before exiting with the younger reaper, a smiled fixed firmly on her face. Once they'd reached the other side, she flopped down on the bed with the cat,"I love him!"

Jack smiled and nodded. He held his scythe around the room and other things appeared three different rooms and a tv screen in front of the bed. He sat next her on the bed and smiled.

"Woah, this is new." She smiled at him, finally releasing the cat, whih simply bumbled around the bed, before settling on her lap once again.

"We'll need to name him. Lucifer doesn't fit him." Her brow furrowed as her mind raced with plausible names for a cat. It was an important decision, and she wanted it to be perfect.

Jack looked at the cat and it looked back at it him. He growled and the cat hissed at him. He wasn't really paying any attention to what she said his eyes did not leave the cat.

Frowning, she turned her body away from the man, happily stroking the cat. "Jack. Stop growling at the baby. The furry baby." Her voice was stern, trying to hide her anger.

"Babe, what's your issue with the cat?" Hurt was evident in Kath's voice; all she wanted was a happy family, and he was acting like a child.

She sighed, and began to fuss the cat, pressing kisses down its spine and running her fingers through its fur.

Once more, the cat's fur stood up on end, back arching in fear. The woman sighed and stroked both the feline and her lover's hair.

Sighing, she lay down beside him, cat curling up on her abdomen, between her hipbones. Her eyes locked on the ceiling, unable to comprehend why the two most important things in her life didn't get on.

Slowly, she prodded the boy with her foot,"I feel like we need to talk." she murmured softly, turning only her head to look at him.
