Hi there! I'm Ray, he/they/it, 23 years of age and have been RPing for about half that long. I write long detailed posts and can provide a writing sample, but I'll keep this search brief because I'm looking for a specific kind of story.
I want to write two mature, accomplished, competent men embark on a fantasy adventure together and fall in love in the process. Two people from different social backgrounds, possessing a mutually complementary set of skills, learning to trust one another while slaying monsters, saving people, and trying to survive in a hostile but not entirely joyless world.
The exact circumstances of the characters' companionship, as well as the characters themselves, are not set in stone. Here's a few vague ideas, but if none of them work, we can plot something else together.
- A lonesome rogue finds himself hunted by a monstrous beast. Unable to make an escape or slay the creature by himself, he is forced into hiding until an armor-clad knight passes by.
- A recluse healer's peaceful evening is disturbed by a knock on the door, a wounded swordsman seeking shelter and aid while pursued by a dangerous foe.
- A magically afflicted warrior is forced to seek out a master of forbidden arcane arts when no one else proves capable of lifting his curse.
