Butler2.jpg
Basic Information
Name: Clarke Birch
Age: 22
Nationality/Ethnicity: Was originally from Australia before he started working for Mr, McMillan.
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual

Character Information
Role: Butler
Occupation: Works at the estate and takes online college classes for psychology.
Distinctive features: Has “Worthy” tattooed behind his ear.
Appearance: Wears his uniform most of the time. When out will wear jeans and sweaters mostly. Respectable, but comfortable.

Connection to the McMillan family: They don’t hate each other. They met in Australia while McMillan was there on business and though they weren’t exactly quick to like each other McMillan needed a bit of help since his hired help had left him out of anger over something. He helped McMillan out and was offered a position at his estate. With his dire need for a job, he accepted, hoping it would help him pay for schooling. McMillan kind of had him carting his stuff around everywhere, he was a bit like an assistant when his actual assistant wasn’t able to accompany Mr. McMillan.

About: Born in Australia. He lived with his parents as well as his aunt and his cousins. When he was younger his Mom was suffering from severe depression which was why many people were needed to surround her, both to make sure she didn’t hurt herself and to support her. He was raised mainly by his Dad who took care of both him and his mother through these times. Things got better when he turned 12, but times were still tough. No one in his family made much money which made college in the future unlikely when they were barely scraping by when he wasn’t paying for college.

He has an interest in psychology because of his mother and hopes to help families like his since he had such trouble growing up. His role as a butler is currently for support with housing both him and his family as well as paying for his schooling. He has lived a busy life since he turned eighteen either working diligently for McMillan or staying up all night to finish coursework. He also has a very sensitive soul and feels deep connections with most people that he meets.

Some of his downfalls are letting his heart rule over everything in his life and putting others before himself a little too often.

Other: He fears having mental issues rule over his life, has a long history of mental illness on his mother’s side of the family. He also doesn’t like the thought of making others suffer for him. On a lighter note he likes to keep a journal around to organize his thoughts and feelings, he also enjoys thunder and rain. Still keeps in touch with his family sending money and letters once a week, sometimes more if he needs to.

Name: Wallace MacMahon
Age: 45
Nationality/Ethnicity: Scottish
Gender: M
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Role: Candidate of Inheritance
Social/Economic Status: Upper Class
Occupation: Hotel Manager and CEO of MacMahon Suites.Inc
Distinctive Features: N/A
Appearance:
[IMG='width:214px;']https://images.menswearhouse.com/is/image/TMW/MW40_3042_CALVIN_KLEIN_SUITS_SUIT_SEPARATES_TUXEDO_BLACK_MAIN?$40Zoom$[/IMG]
Wallace is in possession of many tuxedos that he wears to all formal events.
[IMG='width:209px;']http://heeyfashion.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/mens-casual-clothing-with-sweater.jpg[/IMG]
His casual outfits consist of sweaters, collar shirts, polos, khakis, and shorts.

Connection to the McMillan family: Wallace owns one of the most luxurious hotels in Europe, Blackburn Castle. But soon the McMillans would be his competition. They had family in Ireland who ran their own hotel business and they wanted to expand. What better way to start then in Scotland, of course they couldn't buy out Blackburn castle as the MacMahon's had a history of being stubborn. So the McMillan's opened five hotels all over Scotland, and the revenue from the hotels matched what Wallace got from running Blackburn. The icing on the cake? Wallace's eldest daughter, Lindsay was engaged to a McMillan named Gerald, nephew to the owner of the McMillan estate. Wallace was worried of how this nepotism would ruin his family legacy. But he wouldn't have to worry as Gerald was murdered and within the following weeks, the Irish McMillans left the country and abandoned their hotel chain, leading Wallace to buy these properties and make his own hotel company, MacMahon Suites.Inc. Soon he would have many successful hotels in the UK, Ireland, and Canada.

About: Wallace was born in Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness to his parents who owned Blackburn Castle before he came to the scene. He spent his early life in the hotel at the Westman Residence where he lived with his parents. He was raised as a devout Protestant and the heir to the seat of Blackburn Castle. He performed proficiently in school and on top of that he was well-spoken, polite, and adored by many. The only child that was made a success and there was no one else who would be perfect to be Lord of Blackburn Castle.

To help him run the hotel he went to Queens University in Belfast to study hospitality. It was here where he was caught in the middle of the The Troubles, the conflict between Unionists and Republicans, and Protestans and Catholics. It was during this time where Wallace developed a deep resentment towards Catholics. Especially after an Irish Catholic raped his cousin that drove her to commit suicide. However, while he was in university he met his wife Georgia. She came from a Scottish Protestant family living in Carrickfergus and she too was studying hospitality. They graduated the same year, got married, and lived in Blackburn Castle.

Seeing Wallace an accomplished man made his parents happy leading to Wallace taking over the hotel at the age of 28 and he got married a few months later. While his parents retired to their home in Edinburgh. Now Wallace sits as Lord and Manager of Blackburn and CEO of MacMahon Suites.Inc with their oldest daughter Lindsay and youngest son Michael. Lindsay is 26 and is doing her residency as a Pediatrcian. Michael is 21 and is going to Oxford for Hispotality, to take over the family business.

Secret: Last January Lindsay’s fiancé, Gerald McMillan was murdered. He was found suffocated in his bed of his apartment when Lindsay came home from her residency. The murderer was caught and got the life sentence of 50 years, but found out that he broke out only 2 days into his sentence. Authorities are still looking for the fugitive. What does this have to do with Wallace? Well Gerald was a McMillan and an Irish Catholic and Wallace’s resentment towards Geralds kind was still strong. While Gerald was a decent man, Wallace couldn’t get over seeing him as the people who wronged his own and himself. On New Years Day, Wallace paid a hitman to kill Gerald and if he got caught, he told him not to reveal his intentions and the person who contracted him. He did just that and Wallace got more hired hands to disguise as correctional staff to break out the assailant. They succeeded and they were all paid and sent away to Australia, New Zealand, Belize, and Seychelles. Wallace made sure he got rid of all evidence linking him to the murder of Gerald McMillan. If anyone got wind of this, it would destroy his family legacy and his life.

Aleksandr Volkonsky

Age: 19
Nationality/Ethnicity: Russian
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Homosexual

Role: Candidate for inheritance
Social/economic class: Upper Class (formerly)
Occupation: Student at the École normale supérieure in Paris, currently taking a gap year
Distinctive features: Has a noticeable tick with his left eye when nervous or anxious
Appearance: Usually wears simple and casual clothing, occasionally designer but doesn't like to spend a lot of money on that type of thing. Some of his clothing could also be described as old fashioned. He does own a suit but it takes something important for him to wear that type of clothing, and even then has the habit of somehow making himself look scruffy.

Connection to the McMillan family: Many years previous, Aleksandr's father, who owns his own estate in the south of Russia, entered negotiations with the the McMillan family. The intent of the negotiation was to sell the McMillan lands to the Volkonsky family in exchange for a sizable amount of money and a say in how the estate would be run after the purchase. This negotiation came as a surprise to many as the two men shared a previously bitter rivalry over an incident involving his mother and the Old Man. The smell of money seemingly ended that dispute, however. Except the sale never went ahead. Aleksandr's father had hinged a lot of his reputation on the sale and had often bragged in private about the size of his assets, which he assumed would soon include the McMillan Estate. Mr McMillan never had any intention of selling and merely dragged his rival on and on with platitudes. When the deal was finally abandoned, the shame humiliated Aleksandr's father, as many saw him as a liar who bragged about possessions he didn't have. The rivalry continued on, but Aleksandr's father never managed to recover from being a laughing stock.

About: Aleksandr was born in St. Petersburg to parents Vasily and Natasha Volkonsky. The Volkonsky family is descended of Russian nobility and so held a sizable amount of land and wealth, just enough to keep the family in the upper class of Russia's society. This didn't make Aleksandr's early life easy, however. Most families would normally have gotten past the 17th century by this point but not Aleksandr's father. Some would describe his upbringing as abusive, though Aleksandr flinches at such a word. His father was notorious with his...corrections and how a member of the "nobility" should act and there was more than one occasion where Aleksandr would attend school with bruises and marks but he doesn't think much of it. Even if he knows he should. This upbringing shaped who he was, making him quiet with a lack of self esteem. But no matter what he always had his mother, she would always be there for him through thick and thin, even at a detriment to herself....until she wasn't. One morning he got the news his mother had been found after days of being missing, dead. It was put down to suicide. To say his father was angry was an understatement, eventually he lucked out and his father had him sent to a boarding school in a completely different country, France.

This escape opened new avenues for him. But he had no idea which way to go. His father had cut off almost all support and he had to get by with the help of others or scrounging up something himself. Still he persevered, having to prove to himself he could be more. When he was accepted into one of France's most prestigious Universities to study History, he was overjoyed. It felt like he had somehow one upped his father...eventually that feeling subsided and he just felt alone and empty once more. Until finally he was. The news came on the first week of University, just as his mother had died, so went his father. This time it was a drug addiction that had finally caught up with him. Immediately he was forced to put his education on hold for a year, the University understood and allowed him the time off. When the funeral was done, Aleksandr went to see his family estate once more. It was pristine, just how he had left it. With the money he inherited he could sit back for the rest of his life in relative peace, but he did not do so. He immediately had all of the assets sold off, including the house. All the bad memories, all the horrors that place had endured, would now be gone from his life. He kept 20% of the money for himself, a large amount of money and enough to make sure he didn't endure poverty but not something he uses without reason. The rest he divided between the staff based on seniority before leaving without another word, vowing not to return.

He then spent a small amount of time, trying to come to terms with his life up until this point. The abuse he suffered, his mothers suicide and now his fathers death without so much as a simple "hello" in years. Then the letter came from the McMilllan estate, it was simple morbid curiosity that led him here, after all, he had only ever heard the name once in a venture of his father years ago, what did they want with him?

Other:

- Aleksandr has a fear of letting others down. He strives for perfection he cannot reach and is thus always disappointed in himself for it. He also has a fear of heights and spiders, but those seem less important in comparison.....heights are just scary, man, and those spiders are so damn fast.
- Aleksandr can play the piano, having taught himself for many years.
- He also has an obsession with drawing.
- Being Russian, he naturally speaks the language and having lived many years in France, also speaks French fluently. This makes him fluent in 3 languages.

the persona[/div] [div class=text][div class=overfloow] [div class=box]personality >[/div] Naturally, Ju Eun is a leader. Kind and compassionate, but never afraid to be honest, even if that means a confrontation. She takes great pride in how she presents herself, both in the public eye and to the people that know her. To the public she is loud and eccentric, never short of a party or attention and whilst she may be known for her own lavish parties, it is rare to actually see her there. Yet despite her public personality, she is a rather serious person who takes pride in everything she presents, working incredibly hard in the time she has, and although she succeeded in earning a place at a Paris university, she still strives for better, pushing herself beyond what is expected. She is also a gentle person with a desire to capture most aspects of her world whether in writing or photography, carrying an engaging if not naive charm, the young socialite attempting to use her social influence to improve the world around her, as she uses her journalism to shed light on topics and people she feels the world should know about. However she is known to be blindly optimistic, and unable to ask for help, believing that what she earns she must do on her own.

the biography[/div] [div class=text][div class=overfloow] [div class=box]Connection to the McMillans > [/div] She had first met a McMillan when he had visited one of her fathers galleries, she had followed her father as he'd explained each piece to him, taking great care to explain the significance of each detail. After a long day of hosting and sipping tea, he had revealed his desire to invest, to purchase several galleries. At first her father had declined, then the offer was repeated, and again her father had declined. When the third offer was made, she was asked to leave the room. Only months after the deal had been made, rumors of their collections appearing on the market spread, rumors that insurance claims were being called, apparent robberies or misplacement for items that were already rumored to be on the market. Once word had gotten out, donations were pulled, investors backed out, and future contributions were cancelled. After the scandal had left the papers, the McMillan had stepped forward and renounced the galleries, claiming there was too much at stake to continue being associated with their galleries. For years, her parents had clawed at the ladder to regain their status and reputation, desperate for their legacy to remain as they spent what they had left on sourcing every item that had been 'stolen' or 'misplaced'. The anger never left Ju Eun, she sat quietly, vowing only to herself that she would give that family what it deserved. So once in France, Ju Eun began to write an expose that would land her her first paid writing job. She wrote an article on the family and the man that had scammed her family. Highlighting the corruption and greed that seemed to have been bred into their heritage. As with most expose on powerful families, it only saw the light of day on the pages of a student paper.

[div class=box]history >[/div] Ju Eun was born an only child to a wealthy and socially powerful family, her father Park Min-ho, the owner of galleries and collections all across the globe, was a stern but doting man, and from an early age he spoiled his daughter, introducing her to the complexities of art and fashion. The three never lived in discomfort, attending social gatherings of the highest caliber and constantly flickering in and out of the tabloid pages. And from the moment she showed interest, the family had funded any and every dream of their daughters. No matter how fleeting, he never wanted her to feel like she couldn't achieve what she wanted. Despite this, her mother tried to teach her to be compassionate and charitable, ensuring she understood how lucky she was to live her life, that their comfort was built from the sweat and tears of her family before her. As Ju Eun grew older, wiser and somewhat wilder, she became increasingly aware of the public attention fixed on her, at first she enjoyed the opulent parties, the constant offers of clothes and modelling deals. The young girl detailing every exaggerated moment on her social media. But as she began to strive for the greatness of her family name, she realised she couldn't do anything without it haunting her. Every achievement wasn't hers, but was bought from her family, what talent she had didn't seem to matter. Frustrated she chose to play to their expectations, attending every event and opportunity. And at home she spent every moment studying and applying for university after university, eventually settling on an offer from Panthéon-Sorbonne, taking what she can before moving.

Once in France she began her steps towards becoming a journalist, taking small stories and serious topics (although often paired with a lighter article) and presenting these articles on her own blog. Quickly taking popularity with her followings, Ju Eun began working harder than ever, she found a love for investigative journalism and began using her status to acquire the 'truth' by using any means possible.
