Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean
Monday 22nd, January 2018

Ben was abruptly awoken from his sleep by a hefty shake. Panic filled him for a brief moment.
“Relax, it’s just turbulence,” said the man next to him in the window seat, who had previously introduced himself as Miguel with an obvious South American accent.
Ben settled down and sat back in his chair again. He glanced at his wristwatch as a flight attendant passed by their row. The person who was originally supposed to sit in the seat Ben had taken never showed up. He had moved to the aisle seat so that both him and Miguel would have more space. He estimated that they would arrive in Australia in about an hour. Ben closed his eyes again and was slowly starting to fall asleep as another more violent shake interrupted him. This time Miguel didn’t look as calm as he did before. The speakers soon gave out a signal.
“We are currently experiencing some unexpected turbulence. We ask that all passengers sit down and fasten their seatbelts until we’re clear. We’re sorry for the inco-”
Another violent rumble interrupted the pilot, and a loud bang followed. People were now beginning to panic. With no time to react, the plane lost all of its stability and it felt as though they were crashing down towards the ocean. As if the situation couldn’t get any worse, the plane began falling apart. The tail section broke off and they started spinning. Suddenly, Ben could no longer feel the floor under his feet. His row had been sucked out of the plane. Everything went black for a couple of seconds.
Ben quickly regained consciousness as he felt the cold embrace of the sea. His chest was hurting, but he had no time to think about that. He had to unbuckle himself. He pulled and pulled but the seatbelt wouldn’t come off. The row of seats was quickly sinking, and he felt himself starting to run out of breath as a helping hand came from above, and managed to unclasp the belt. He felt someone grab him by the shirt and pull him up towards the surface.
Ben gasped for air and coughed wildly as he resurfaced. He found that it was Miguel who had gotten loose and saved him.
“Thank you,” he uttered between breaths. Behind Miguel, he could see a tropical island seventy metres or so away. He could see that a large section of the plane had crashed onto the beach. He could spot more survivors moving along the beach, seemingly in panic.
“Let’s go,” Ben said with confidence to Miguel, who had turned around and seemed to be lost for words by the chaos on land.
The pair quickly swam towards the screams on the island. Ben’s ribs hurt, but he would be fine. He had to help any potential survivors. He had to.

Eerica

She loved airplane rides..it was like a luxury to her. She sat back a bit in her chair putting her headphones in watching the rain drizzle on the window. It was all soothing. After about an hour or so her relaxation was interupted by the plane rocking and shaking. She sat up a bit..she could tell by everyone's face something was wrong. She turned her music down..

“We are currently experiencing some unexpected turbulence. We ask that all passengers sit down and fasten their seat belts until we’re clear. We’re sorry for the inco-” Her eyes widened as she felt the plane shake again this time she saw pieces of the plane fly past her window. The lights were flickering then BOOM. Everything went dark. Her stomach sank feeling the plane descend. This was not how she planned to die. Upon impact with the water she blacked out.

"Cough,Cough" Eerica woke up panicked covered in sand and dripping wet she stood up catching her breath, she was dizzy, she tried to catch her breath looking around. She couldn't believe what was going on. "Where the fu- am I?" She turned again seeing two figures walking towards her, she didn't know what to do..wave and ask for her or stay silent...but she was pretty sure they were gonna see her.

Her clothes and hair was completely soaked she couldn't help but take her dress off that was sticking to her. All she was left in was a sports bra and a pair of track shorts and her sandals.

Logan had never been on a plane until she had moved to Florida with her mother and she could safely say she hated it. The ascent and descent hurt her ears and she hated being so closed in. She sat pressed against the window of the plane, earphones in and phone in her lap. Messaging was a no go but she could still play games and listen to music. Potentially edit photos of her mother in stupid ways to relieve some anger. Peeing had become a necessity a long time ago but she didn't want to disturb the sleeping duo beside her. So remained seated, focusing on her phone to distract herself from the pain in her bladder. After another hour it had become unbearable and so she reluctantly woke up the old couple beside her and awkwardly shifted past them.
The turbulence began just as she had finished, opening the door to leave, she stumbled as the plane shook. Gripping her phone tightly and quickly steadying herself with the wall, she looked around in panic. "...sorry for the inco..." was all she managed to hear before she was thrown upwards, her head colliding with with the ceiling of the plane, instantly knocking her out.

Cold. Why the hell was she so cold? Her eyes fluttered open, squinting at the sunlight. Her head was blank, not having a clue what happened after her mother had dropped her off at the airport. Very slowly, she sat up, wincing in pain and noticing the waves lapping at her skin. Blinking a few times to get her eyes used to the light, she took in her surroundings. What on earth had happened?

The trip back home was supposed to be an easy one. Exactly like every trip before it. But this one was off from the moment she stepped foot on the plane. For the first time in her life, the airline had messed up her seating arrangements, and she was moved from the window seat she wanted, to the middle row, between an elderly man and a younger woman editing a video on her cimputer. Adeline didn't out right complain, life could be so much worse, but the air hostess knew she was angry and that was that. Next thing she knew her credit card was declined while trying to buy a juice. Unbeknownst to her, it was her brother getting information he shouldn't have, and messing with his sister back home. She didn't try more than twice, and sat with music in her ears from her ipod after that, until it occured to her that they would be arriving in Sydney in less than an hour. If she wanted to get a message to her parents to pick her up, she would need to message them now. She struggled to get to her bag in the overhead, due to the fact that the yound girl beside her ignored Adeline's first attempts to communicate. "Excuse me? Hey~ Miss? Hi~." She didn't dare disturb the man to her left, and eventually got through to the girl. She reached above her for her bag when the plane suddenly shifted. She reacted by grabbing hold of the bag compartment with a tight grip. The sudden jolt instantly had her heart racing, but she was quickly telling herself that it was just turbulence, and thus reaching for her bag again, head turning to spy other passengers also in a state of question and slight panic.
The second time the plane jolted, Adeline was almost knocked off of her feet. Her bag fell safely into one arm, while the other reached for the shoulder of the young girl sat by the aisle. Instantly she looked up at Adeline with a scowl, and removed her earphones to speak, having not noticed the large jolt. "Hey, do you mind?-" The girl had some sense afterall, and stopped herself short when she noticed Adeline's worried face. "Are you okay? What going on-." The announcement that rang through the plane didn't ease Adeline's conscience. “We are currently experiencing some unexpected turbulence." She removed her hand and gave the girl a nod, and a forced smile. "Of course. Can I sit down, please." She closed the compartment above her quickly and just as quickly moved past the girl to fall into her seat, her bag held tightly to her chest. "We ask that all passengers sit down and fasten their seatbelts until we’re clear. We’re sorry for the inco-” It only occured to her that her seatbelt wasn't on when the announcer was cut off by another huge jolt. It was the worst so far, and had plenty of people shouting out in fear. Adeline thought fast, and pulled the bag's clips around her waist before fastening it in place, before she gripped her bag tight at she could with one hand, and took the girl's hand with the other. "Hold on!" Soon as the plane started to rocket downwards, Adeline began moving up, but the firm grip of the girl held her in place, if only, for a few more moments.
Her vision was blurred when the plane started to break apart. There were so many screams and far too much screeching from the plane to comprehend what was happenning. The moment she no longer felt the girl's hand in her's was the moment her heart sank, and Adeline went plummeting towards the sea like most of the others. She was barely conscious as she made contact with the water.
She didn't sink far thanks to the bag clipped around her waist, and she didn't panic. The water was bound to take her if she allowed herself to get exhausted now, so she blinked her eyes open and with heavy breaths searched for any sign of help. Her legs kicked her around till the island ahead loomed over her. That was where she was going. No-one had landed remotely close to her, and as far as she could tell she couldn't help anyone, so for now she helped herself. Adeline kicked hard as she could, all the while filled with adrenaline, and a fear that her things were now soaked too. If they were stranded, she needed her books, but survival was first. The closer the shore got to her, the more tired she became, and by the time she made it, her legs gave way. She ended up close to a young girl, younger than the one she sat next to. 'oh my god...where is she?' Adeline looked over at the girl for a moment in worry. "You okay?," she asked immediately, hopeful she wasn't injured. She could fell a headache coming on, most likely from the impact. It suddenly occured to her she could easily have something more than headache. Adeline sat herself up to move her backpack from her front to her back. Her arms fit through slowly before she began to stand up. Along the beach, plenty of people were already on their feet and attemtping to help others, or as tired as her and laying on the sand. She turned to the young girl beside her and offerred a hand. "Come on, we need to help the others if we can. Can you stand?" Her accent may have surprised the girl, she wasn't sure where she was from either.

Susanna Yi

Susanna was not really thrilled to be on the plane, and her facial expression showed it well. At least she was getting away from her father. Unlike the other times she tried running away the police always found her, and took her back to that god-forsaken place her father called 'home'. It was a Monday, and Susie felt good about her decision to go to Australia. She heard a lot of good things about the place, and she was ready to start a new life, in a new place. As the flight attendant called out her seat number she jumped out of her train of thought, and got up pulling her torn suitcase that had the word 'Believe' on it. Susie boarded the plane slowly while looking left to right at the seat numbers, finally coming to seat C21 in the back. She pulled out her headphones, and started to listen to music from her iPod as the plane took off. One of the flight attendant called the attention of all passengers, as the other flight attendants showed the safety instructions, and the exits just encase there was a crash.

Susanna was about to fall asleep, until she felt a tap on her shoulder. "Would you like a drink or snack, sweetheart?" A flight attendant asked, pushing the tray of drinks and snacks. "N-no thank you." Susie replied, giving a small smile as the flight attendant walked away down the aisle. A few minutes later Susie heard from the plane speaker. The pilot spoke, “We are currently experiencing some unexpected turbulence." She took a deep breath trying to relax herself, but it wasn't working her stress asthma was starting. Taking her inhaler out of her jacket she took a few puffs of it, trying to calming herself. She almost lost it when the pilot spoke, "We ask that all passengers sit down and fasten their seat belts until we’re clear. We’re sorry for the inco-” She could hear the passengers start to panic, and yell out when the plane started to drop. Many thought were running through her mind until, seconds later the plane crashed. The water was rising, but as scared as she was she unbuckled her seat belt while trying to get out of the plane, like everyone else. She had to swim out of the plane into the rough waters of the sea, as she was forced to swallow rough amounts of salt water. It was hard to keep her head above, but she knew if she didn't. She would die. Moments later she spotted what looked like a tropical island, not to far from her. From what it looked like other passengers had already made it to shore. It took all her strength to make it to island, and soon after she started to see black spots. She tried to get up, but passed out cold on the sand.

RAY
Mentions: N/A
Raymond grumbled -- not for the first or last time -- as he limped down the aisle, which was slightly too narrow for him to move around with ease. The cabin was quiet, grey, and dull, and he suspected it hadn't been cleaned too recently. There was a dingy feel to the plane that accompanied that awful cabin air smell. Ray's walking made a soft rhythm on the floorboards. First the confident step of his right heel, then the tap of his cane, then the sliding of his left foot with the familiar stabbing pains in his knee. That was the blueprint of his gait. Step, tap, pain.

The steady hum of the engines was broken from time to time by a sneeze, a coughing fit, or a fussy toddler, but aside from that, no one said more than five words to one another. Most of the passengers slept with window shades down, pillows and blankets in place. Ray too tried to shut his eyes, though he never could sleep well away from home. He had other problems to keep him awake. Slowly, he found his way back to his seat, which, for all its plushness, had clearly been designed to make its occupant as uncomfortable as possible. Not that this bothered him overmuch; he'd become very accustomed to discomfort over the years. "Attention passengers," came a voice over the intercom. "We are currently experiencing some unexpected turbulence. Please fasten your seatbelts." Around him, no one really seemed to pay this announcement much mind. The plane jolted downwards, causing tray tables to rattle and one stewardess to fall. Whispers erupted in the cabin, questioning how such a convulsion could come about from just simple turbulence.

Then the plane took a nosedive.

The panicked whispers from the other passengers crescendoed into screams of horror. Some of them got up from their seats and ran for first class, as if that would somehow be safer if the whole damn plane went down . A flash of fear coursed through Ray as he bowed his head, gripping the arm of his seat until his knuckles went white. His leg burned in agony. He was dimly aware of the pilot making another announcement -- likely to calm everyone down -- but he couldn't hear what he said over everything that was going on. A bang erupted several rows ahead of him, and the roar of wind ripped through the cabin. Ray watched his fellow passengers get sucked out into the void. Alarms blared, red lights flared, oxygen masks dropped. The front end of the plane tore off, and the rest finished its headlong plunge into the churning waves of the Pacific below. Raymond screamed, and did not know it was him.

The old man dropped into the depths. He thrashed about for a moment, hampered by the safety belt still tight around his waist. All around him, objects sank. Debris, luggage, books, pillows, laptops. . . bodies. Unbuckling himself, he began searching for the surface, though as it was, he could barely comprehend which way was up. Then, as he felt himself slip out of consicousness . . . something wrapped around him, as if coming alive.

It pulled him towards land.

YEON-SEO
Mentions
Han Yeon-Seo crawled weakly onto the beach, grunting in pain. The waves lapped at her toes, but she could barely feel them through the soreness of her legs. With effort, she lifted her cheek from the sand. Before her was a tropical island, an immaculate white beach giving way to an impenetrable screen of vegetation. Behind her was endless sea. She was cold and clammy, and her head ached like it'd been struck a thousand times with a hammer, but she was alive. Somehow. Yeon sat up and raised her hand, wiping the sand from her face, and hacked out a fit of ragged coughs. Strands of her hair stuck to her face, and her clothes were drenched in sea water.

How... what...

Her mind spun, trying to make sense of the situation. Then she saw it, almost invisible on the horizon. The plane. Yeon tottered to her feet, which was difficult enough without anything to cling to for purchase. Woozy, she watched the plane as it sank into the sea. Did anyone make it? she wondered. The memory returned to her; of people screaming as they were flung away, to be swallowed by the sea. Her eyes began to burn and she knew there would be tears. All those people... The suddenness of what just happened left her stunned, and she sat back down, shivering from cold, and stared out into the ocean. Survivors. came a thought. I need to find the survivors. For the time being, all other goals would be secondary. She was stranded on an island that was seemingly uninhabited, and she doubted she had what it took to survive on her own. Yeon forced herself to move and, hope against hope, began stumbling along the length of the beach in search of survivors.

CHARLIE
Mentions: Abbie Kingsley Abbie Kingsley
They'd established a triage unit at the crash site, with able bodies splitting up to search for survivors while others salvaged wood for fires. And Charlie, being one of the few trained medical professionals among them, was saddled with the most responsibility. As he combed the beach, he concluded that strolling along the coastline on a bright day was nowhere near as idyllic as it should've been. His legs were cramped and aching, and his bruises were massively swollen to the touch, to the point where he winced whenever anything so much as grazed them. All things considered, however, he was doing fine. Nothing broken, just battered. He wasn't sure the same could be said for this young lady lying in the sand. She was an East Asian girl in maybe her mid-late teens, willow-framed with ragged clothes. Charlie knelt beside her, pressing his fingers to her neck. No breath. Only a faint pulse. She was fading. "I can do this." he swore, to no one in particular.

Pinching her nostrils, he leaned over to breathe a few rescue breaths into her lungs. Her skin was pale, and she didn't move. Maybe . . .
No. he forced himself to focus Can't think about that. He'd practiced this procedure a thousand times over, but that didn't mean there was no room for mistake. Locking his hands, he pumps down on the girl's chest, counting each compression to himself. They did not shake like they used to. He knew what to do. He pressed down with a steady rhythm. Come on, come on, come on,

Susanna Yi
Everything was dark, cold, and lonely feeling. Where was she? Was she dead? No, not yet. "You killed her. It's all your fault. You shouldn't have been born in the first place!" She clearly remembered her fathers cruel words. "I heard they call her 不運 (bad luck) because her mother died while giving birth. If you hang around her you'll get bad luck too." Her schoolmates were liars and bullies, the words they said hurt her deeply. All she wanted was to be treated like a normal person, but no. They treat her like she was nothing. She was basically invisible unless she was needed. No one really acknowledged her. -- All of these flashbacks where coming back like a timeline of her life, memories after memories. Until . . .

Susanna's eyes shot open, only to meet a pair of blue ones staring right at her. From the look of it, the man that was in front of her looked in his late 20's or early 30's. He had fair skin, and was well dressed even though he was wet and sweaty. He's probably American. She thought, seconds trying to recall the situation she was in, but got interrupted by rolling over to the side throwing up the salt water she had swallowed earlier. Her throat was burning, sore, and dry feeling. While her body was like jello, making her have a hard time sitting up. Moments later she felt dizzy, and pounding feeling in her head. It was probably a migraine coming on. She place a hand on her head, messaging it a bit. Trying to relax the pain, she had recall what had happened and spoke quietly but audible, "W-wait. I almost died, a-and you saved me?" She was shocked that someone had wanted to help her. Her of all people, things like that rarely happened. She was trying to think straight, but her thought were all over the place. She spoke out again and said, "T-thank you for saving m-me..." Her eyes where heavy, but she looked up at him giving a small smile. She felt lightheaded, like she was going to pass out again. But tried to stay conscious.
