I believe you will bring balance to the Force.
That you will face your demons and save the universe.
Star Wars Plots!
I considered being a casual fan. Then I decided against that.
To be clear though, I do not know much about the "Old Republic". My knowledge is best in the realm of everything First Movie and on, and at that, most of it is "canon" knowledge. My Expanded Universe knowledge is limited to the books: The Jedi Guide, The Sith Guide, the Imperial Handbook, and Darth Plagueis. However, I am willing to do some research, I just don't want to play in the "Old Republic".
I have two main ideas, one based in the "Force Awakens" timeline, and one post-Force Awakens. Please take a gander!
But first, RULES:
1. Don't God-Mod. In other words, don't make my character speak, don't make my character, don't make my character take damage, and don't control my character. If you want something to go a certain way for plot purposes, just PM me and ask. Usually, I accept "god-modding" during travel and the like. It is usually acceptable to assume movement if a character is already committed to the journey.
2. Please be able to play both genders, and play multiple roles. Your main character(s) may be just male or just female, but I expect all the side characters and NPCs to have life and flavor, too.
3. On the note of characters: I will always play one female character. So, be aware of that. With that said, I usually also always play one male character, and I do MxM, MxF, and FxF pairings, though I prefer MxF.
4. I only RP on threads, so no PM rps with me. So that I know you’ve read the rules this far, please tell me about your favorite food!
5. Please be able to write more than a couple of sentences as responses to me. I have tried to do “simple” RPs, but I end up not feeling motivated to respond or continue the RP. I will need you to be able to write a paragraph or two, each post, at least.
6. PM if you are interested. The only reason for you not to PM me is if you cannot do so due to the fact you haven't reached 24 hours/10 posts.
Guidelines:
1. I do not like to be hassled for posts. Especially if I have already posted that day or the day before. Do not bother me for posts until at least two days have passed. Otherwise, I will start to resent our RP and lose interest in it.
2. I enjoy OOC talk, however I will not respond to "hi" or "-poke-" or equivalents. Have substance to the chatter, even if it just asking "How are you?".
3. Do not bump our thread if I have not posted. I will not post out of spite. I have a problem with this, I acknowledge it, I'm not fixing it.
4. On that matter, please keep OOC to PMs and not on our IC thread. IC is for posting. If you have a question, concern, or comment, just shoot me a PM.
5. In general, I do not enjoy immediate romances or "slice-of-life" RPs, so do not come to me expecting I'll do either. I may make rare exceptions.

Knights of the First Order: Force Awakens period. Knights of Ren. First Order. Resistance-maybe.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away….
Star Wars: Knights of the First Order
The First Order has been scattered! The destruction of Starkiller Base has caused the remnants of the Order to scatter from their central hub and try to regroup. Among the survivors, General Hux and Kylo Ren went to see Supreme Leader Snoke to learn how best to continue forward with their malevolent plans. General Hux left shortly afterwards to gather the remnants of the First Order, leaving Kylo Ren to train with Snoke.
The First Order was set back on a path to rebuild itself, working out of the ruins of Alderaan as a safe haven. They were not alone for long, however. The five remaining Knights of Ren returned to the First Order to assist in the rebuilding process while Kylo Ren was learning new talents. This has put a strain on operations among the First Order. The tensions are high.
Somewhere, the Knights can feel the Force is alive and well. Kylo Ren grows stronger, and another individual does as well. The Jedi that they have tried to put down are awoken.
Their wait for the return of Kylo Ren is not long, though. Kylo Ren returns from Snoke, more powerful than before, and prepared to take the universe by storm, as General Hux has paved the way to mapping out strategic points of weakness in the Resistance, and in crafting a new weapon to put fear into the hearts of the universe….
~***~
So this one, in a nutshell, will be exploring the First Order and its relations with the Knights of Ren (though I am also up for a Resistance Heavy variant, too). I am envisioning a max of 5-6 Knights to play with and create, including Kylo Ren. I am perfectly comfortable playing pretty much any canon character, be it Kylo Ren or Poe Dameron, Rey, Finn, Hux, Leia, whoever. That said, I would like a pretty even divide on "sides"; that is, if I'm playing Kylo Ren, I'd request you play Hux. If I'm playing Poe, I'd request you play Leia, and things like that, so we're sharing and dividing the power evenly, as this is a universe at war.
Knights and FO officers will likely be the main characters. A Rebel Spy or Captive could also make for an interesting main. I am up for playing with Luke's side of the story, and I can position my Knight as a captive or spy, depending on the plot we work out with each other, if you want this more "Resistance heavy" compared to "First Order" heavy.
This story could also potentially explore Gray Jedi. There could be redemption stories here, as well as ones of absolute corruption, and it will vary by the characters and their relationships with one another.
I'm also up for adapting it to be more Resistance-Heavy by having one (or more) of the knights as captives of the Resistance at the start, or having a Resistance member as hostage of the First Order/Knights.
I have some ideas for a Knight, Ex-Knight, and Tarkin character for this story in particular, but I can think of others on a whim.

Rise of the Sith: Grey Jedi. Jedi corruption. Same Old Song and Dance. Post-Force Awakens, by like...300-400 years.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away….
Star Wars: Rise of the Sith
Luke Skywalker was successful in reviving the Jedi. Through his apprentice, Rey, the Jedi rose again and spread through the universe, teaching others the ways of the Force. No longer was the Force a mystery, and Jedis the things of legends. A new Jedi Order was created, with its base on the planet Tython, where the first Jedi Temple was.
Yet, not all went over well. As the Jedis expanded their presence in the universe, a need for unity in teachings and organization was required. The Jedi Order quickly became bogged down in politics and bureaucracy. In its haste to organize, dissenting opinions were beaten down. Rebels rose up, so-called “Gray Jedi”, and they were all executed in a series of minor skirmishes.
Now the Jedi Order stands at a new and fresh height, with a presence on most core and mid-rim planets. Infants that are recognized as Force sensitive are brought up within the Order and trained in the ways of the Force, whether or not their parents consent. Jedi Knights Dawn and Manx go to the planet of Nox in the Tython system to retrieve one such infant who’s parents are resisting the order to surrender the child….
~***~
To help explain this world some, I am imagining this to be about 300-400 years after Luke. Force Awakens stuff is canon, and we're going on the assumption that Luke wins and Kylo is killed. No repenting for Kylo Ren.
I like to add in the aspects that the Jedi are clinging more and more to the past--the wrongful ways that Anakin destroyed. They sort of...deny Anakin.
Part of this clinging to the past is raising only young people into Jedi's...taking them from their homes by force if necessary. This obviously has consequences, good and ill. I also imagine in their clinging to the past and the attachment issues, they have all Jedi, upon becoming a Jedi, take the name of a famous historical Jedi to serve as their "family" name--tying them strongly with the Order that raised them. Like, Manx Kenobi and Dawn Jinn, two characters i am playing.
I plan to play both Manx and Dawn, with Dawn being the one who turns towards the "Sith". If there are other "Sith" out there, they should definitely be in hiding, and not be anywhere near as established as the Jedi Order. That, or they should be mixed in with the Jedi, the way Palpatine was with the Senate. This is a thread to explore their "Rise", not to show them as something already well and truly established.
It may also show their fall, or their change into "Gray Jedi".
Plenty of roles are up for grabs here, from smuggler, Jedi Councillor, Jedi Knight, Padawans, Secret Siths, Senators--so come and bring your ideas and characters to breathe life into the story!
