Mature Content: how far is too far?

I'm new here. I have been part of a forum where kissing was not allowed. I see there is no explicit content but are there more like, clear boundaries that rupees cannot pass? Like to what limit is mature content okay. This is in all aspects: language, sexual, violence, activities.


I just wanna know so I don't mess up C,:

Basically - there is NO erotic content allowed - this includes scenes of a graphic sexual nature (fade to black is recommended for anything beyond kissing), images and private-messaging. Anything else (violence, language, etc.), so long as it's not breaking any of the other RPN rules has no real limit, though some GMs have different rules for their RPs regarding those things (For example, they might say violence is okay, but no gore... or language is okay, but in limited amounts).

No explicit sexual terms or descriptions. As Elle said, fade-to-black is generally the best way to go.


No illegal or immoral discussions - character behavior is one thing, but OOC, stay away from discussing or providing advice on criminal activities.


There are no site rules regarding swearing, violence, or gore, but personal preferences may apply within specific RPs. Best to check with your GM and fellow players before you post something that you think is questionable!

Just popping in to say that there's been a recent update to the rules regarding gore.


- Extreme Gore - RpNation does allow non erotic adult content, but RpNation does not allow extreme descriptions of gore or violence. Users cannot post real-life photography of extreme gore or violence. Drawn extreme gore or violence can be posted, but must be placed in spoiler BBCode.

It really depends, we've never really had any one really get in trouble for written gore, because honestly, its quite difficult. Images are usually the problem.


Heck, I can tell you about a character who is a gang member, shot a person and said person bled out to death, that is not really extreme gore. It will mostly be a case by case basis with that rule. The real focus being in real life photography that we don't want on the site depicting horrible acts of violence.
