Realistic or Modern Matched Till Death Do Us Part

"I dont like her, ive just met her. I dont like anyone yet... I barley know you or anyone here." He said looking at her. "I want to get to know you, when i came here i decided i would give this system a try, and ive liked you so far though im not 100% fond of the music. I like the rest." He said looking at her. "I dont believe the governments choice for me will decide who i like, but ive liked you so far so i think we can at least try."

Kali's eyes darted up at him, though she remained silent. She looked back down at her book and began to read, not saying a word.

She awoke in bed, eyes closed against the light. She was always sensitive to bright lights and sounds after a faint. She hasn't had one in a while but the dramatic revealing of the cameras had simply made her so... Anxious, that she couldn't control herself. She flinched lightly as she thought of Neshie. First the night before, and now this? He probably thought she was some kind of invalid.

Cracking her eyes open just a peek, she sighed as the bright light stabbed her eyes. "What a 'dyr' situation..." She mumbled quietly to herself, using the joke that her adoptive father had come up with. It was a pun on her name and the word 'dire', both of which sounded the same. Even though the joke itself was bad, she loved it anyway. It showed that her adoptive parents truly loved her.

"Not sure what to do." She shrugged, turning her attention to the wall as she lay on her back. What to do... what to do... they were stuck in a building, with cameras all around. She nearly shuddered, but that would not be a good idea... darn. What did she want to do with herself? "You got any ideas?" Wait... they could go meet her brother, but... what if he wasn't up yet? Or worse... if they'd actually gotten close and started... cuddling!

@Lexie

Cameras? That would explain it... he'd have to hack into them at some point, make sure they had SOME privacy. Mainly in the showers and bedrooms. And to find out if there was audio as well as video. "You're welcome. I wasn't much help though." That'd have to change, of course, but for now....
@Bree

((Thanks, Neshi))

Jake shook his head as he reclined against the wall. He smiled and looked at her carefully. "We could always get to know each other," he said softly, deciding to take a more practical approach.

Bree said:
"Cute kitten?" She leaned over to pet him/her and whisperer quietly to the girl, "Cameras watching us. Act natural. " then she straightened and held out the plate of cookies. "I'm lune, live upstairs. Would you like some cookies?"
Harley beamed then wrapped her arms around his neck, resting her head on his shoulder. She whispered, "Can you do anything about it? I don't understand techy stuff but...that's your area. "

One eyebrow rose. Get to know each other? Hadn't he had enough the night before? She'd only managed to make him mad, after all. Still... that was fine. They could be friends... that would be fine, wouldn't it? They didn't have to talk to be romantically attatched as friends. "Hmm.... How'd you learn to bake?" That was safe enough, at least.

@Lexie

"Maybe..." He said it playfully, but dutifully turned down the brightness on his computer and started typing on it again. This would be easy, he figured... there wasn't all that much to hacking the government, not to him. Then again... he'd had lots of practice, always carefully. HIs fingers flew across the keyboard, in a seemingly random order, and a new screen appeared. "What do you want me to do?" He asked it quietly, whispering with barely a movement of his lips.

((Sorry @Bree , I didn't see it.))

"I taught myself," Jake said with a smile as he looked at her. He stood and walked into the kitchen, cutting out a couple of slices of cake. He took them back into the living room, sliding one to her just in case. "Though I didn't do bad if I do say so myself."

More chocolate cake... YES! She barely restrained herself, though her eyes did light up. "Best I've tasted." That was not hard, though... she'd only had the store-bought stuff. On birthdays. Right, time to forget that and go on with eating the delicious cake. She'd work it off later... Before taking her first bit she looked at him, though, as though to ask if he had any questions.

Jake smiled as Kurogane ate the cake and felt better about his baking. "Favorite animal and color?" he asked her, deciding to keep it simple. Also, that way he could buy her adorable stuffed animals if he wanted.

He was asking about that? Really? "Umm... natural animals is the cat, and mythical... I like dragons. And my favorite color is... blue or voiolet." That was a random question, but... well, she now had a question for that. "Why do you want to know? I mean... I don't think that would be particularly interesting to find out." Really... it's not like it said anything about their personality.

He looked at her for a moment. "Can you at least tell me what happened between you and your family to make you hate them so much?" He suddenly asked remember the other thing she had said and trying to get her to talk.

Jake smiled widely at her question and giggled softly. "I always ask people that just in case I'd like to buy something or another," Jake said with a wider smile. He shrugged, knowing was silly and playfully blew her a kiss before shrugging it off.

Kali instantly froze at his question and she slowly looked up at him, her jaw visibly clenching, giving off the hint that it was a bad question. "They have a perfect image of me and I don't fit it," she said simply.

He felt a rush of sympathy for her, his parents had been much the same. "That i can understand." He said softly. "My parents had a perfect image for me too, mainly because nethier of them had gone to college or even finished highschool and they wanted me to be someone, which isnt a bad idea except they wanted to take everything from me in the process." He said looking at her.

"I... see." Ignore the playful kiss. That was playful, right? No, don't. Instead she tilted her head, "You like horror books... but anything else?" She hoped she hadn't asked that yesterday, because now she couldn't remember. And if she had he'd probably get mad again. Why was she suddenly reminded of an early 21st century tv show?

"Being a preacher's daughter isn't the best," Kali said softly as she sat her book aside. "I acted like that because I was scared. I agreed to this because I thought that maybe this was the only chance I had to not get rejected as I had my entire life. My parents....my family rejected me for the music I listen to. The fact that I prefer jeans and a tshirt with skulls over a dress and God...if there is one. I have no true religion. They hate that I enjoy dying my hair and everything about me. I've always been rejected and I'm tired of it." Kali finished speaking and looked down to avoid tears.

Jake laughed a bit and looked at her. "You asked that yesterday. I like a variety actually. From horror to comedy to tragedy. It depends on how it was written," he said with a crooked grin on his face, showing his straight white teeth.

She blushed, looking to the side almost immediately. SHE KNEW she'd asked that... how had she forgotten? GOsh darn it, Kurogane, get it together! Still... "Good. I'll make sure to recommend some books to you." Books for gifts... wait, where had that come from? No. she wouldn't meet him after the month was over, just no. And of course he would have perfect teeth.

"Im not gonna reject you, i may not be fondest of loud music but im not gonna reject you for it. Im not gonna reject you Kali, i know what it means to be rejected by others. You wont just get rejected here, by me or anyone. Maybe you can make some friends here as well. There's a lot of people who you can become good friends with here if your nice to them, i know you can be nice to people. You were to me." He took a breath. "And ill always be around, after all were supposed to give this a genuine go am i right." He said with a small smile.

Jake smiled as he shook his head a bit. "You don't have toget me anything...that's my job to you. I don't know you all that well but I do know you don't want to be here at all. But that rebellion is drawing me to you for some reason," he said nervously as he blushed.

Kali listened to him but kept her eyes down in shame. "She was proper. I naturally don't like anyone proper so I'm not going to be nice to her. I'll try to ignore her but I'm not making promises," she said truthfully after sighing.

A blink. He knew? But... but how? Nevermind... why was it interesting? Nope. Not thinking about that. She lightly slapped her head, trying to get the thoughts to stop. Not time to think about... well, actually it was. "I... don't exactly understand that, but at least you're honest." It was confusing. VERY confusing.

"At least try, she was kind to us and she told me something important." He leaned forward as if brushing a lock of her hair back and whispered in her ear. "Were being watched, cameras all over."

She'd be on his chest, not of her own free will of course, as he had one arms around her & one on his stomach,& hoodie somewhat lifted up. He'd been trying to make her feel better, too comfort clearly while she was asleep. Move Along, Just Move Along~ He'd sing outloud while petting her head, which at the time, seemed to make her body less tense, until he would fall asleep himself, & somehow, shift her body for them to end up like this. His breath was silent, with no disruption, congestion, or snore in sight, though it was clear Neshimo was a heavy sleeper, as the grip keeping her on him was strong, & unnerving.

Jake blushed bright red and looked away. "Sorry...I get like that sometimes...I can't help myself," he said suddenly shy. "I see potential in then...I think you're one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen...I can't stay mad at you...all completely true."

Kali rolled her eyes and sighed. "More of a reason to put on a show. I mean this is all fake right," she said coldly as she pulled back from him, her jaw and fists clenched.

Her eyes widened, and she blushed, biting her lip and flipping onto her stomach, he... her? Right... that was a totally romantic thing he just pulled. On her. She'd... wh... no, nononononono. She would NOT be attracted to him. Friends. Just friends, that's it. If that. "T-thank you? For the complement, I mean." Her thoughts weren't really running along any proper track, so...
