Realistic or Modern Matched (Closed)

He nodded in response to her question. "Two, actually. Sisters, both older than me. Already matched and out of the house. What about you?"

Evangeline shook her head. "Im an only child. When my mom was matched, her mate didn't want kids anymore kids."she explained
MorganaLeFay MorganaLeFay

Roran's eyebrows shot up. "She had you before she was matched?" Then he clamped his mouth shut. "I'm sorry, that was rude. I shouldn't have said anything."

Evangeline shook her head and patted his shoulder. "Its okay. Don't worry about it. A lot of people are surprised but you and a few family members are the only ones that know.My mom had went against the ceremony because she believed it wasn't how you should fall in love. But when my father was caught cheating, she devoted her life to...well this. She believes and follows everything the government says and does."she said

Roran nodded, and looked down, still feeling bad about being rude. "What about you? What do you think about the system?"

"The way my mom felt before. I don't think this is the right way to meet people. Because the ones you are matched with, might not be the one you are destined to fall in love with. But I like my moms respect. And if this is the way to earn it, I will live with it. Not saying it in a way to bad talk you as my match, though."she explained.

He smirked and shrugged. "No offense taken. I personally don't have a problem with the way things are. Everyone I've talked to are happy with their match. As my dad says, 'if it ain't broke, then don't fix it'. If nobody has any major problems with their matches, then it can't be that bad."

Evangeline smiled and nodded. "Very true. You're father has a point there."she said. After a few minutes of thinking, she finally spoke up. "So, what do you like to do for fun?"she asked
MorganaLeFay MorganaLeFay

He shrugged lightly. "Nothing too exciting. I read, write. Mother still makes me practice piano, even though I'm not taking the lessons anymore. What about you?"

Evangeline nodded a little bit. "Well...I like to go out. Ya'know. Have a little fun with my friends."she explained and smiled slightly.
MorganaLeFay MorganaLeFay

"I don't really drink much, but once in a while I do. But thats rare. Sometimes me and my friends go out to dance in the clubs in town. Or if we make it through the night without one of my friends passing out, we go to the train tracks and just fool around there. Nothing sexual though. We aren't really into that."she told him
MorganaLeFay MorganaLeFay

He made a face as she told him all that. He hated alcohol, and loud, crowded places like clubs, and the last part was just stupid in his opinion. "Why in the world do you do that?"

Evangeline chuckled slightly. "Why not is my question. You only live once."she explained and looked up at him.
MorganaLeFay MorganaLeFay

"Yes I get that, but I doubt anybody wants to live a long life not taking any chances of risk. Wouldn't you like to see what your limit is? If I were you, I would like to know what I can and cannot handle. Take this in mind, just living life is a risk. You face danger every day of your life and you don't know it."she said
MorganaLeFay MorganaLeFay

Roran shook his head. "I'm completely fine living my life without taking any risks. As you said, living life is dangerous enough. I don't need to put myself in any more danger."

Evangeline shrugged a bit. "Well..we all have different opinions that can't be changed. I respect yours like, im assuming, you respect my opinions. Since we are mates, then we need to figure out someway to get through it."she said. Looking up at him, she spoke up again. "Just out of curiosity. have you ever done something that is considered risky?"she asked
MorganaLeFay MorganaLeFay

Roran nodded, knowing that she was right. When he asked her question, he smirked slightly. 'Well, I'm still talking to you after figuring out what you do for fun. Is that considered risky?"

"No. That doesn't count at all."she said, chuckling a little bit. She didn't think that she would have this much of a good time here at the ceremony. It wasn't all bad as she thought it would be. Little nerve wracking at first, but she was doing okay now.
MorganaLeFay MorganaLeFay

Roran chuckled as well, then thought for a moment. "No, I don;t really think I have done anything risky. Not that I remember, anyway."

"Well if you're gonna be with me, then you gotta try at least once. Plus you're an adult now, no one is gonna get you in too much trouble. Thats gonna be our compromise. I'll try you're interest and you try mine."she said and smiled
MorganaLeFay MorganaLeFay

"Don't worry about it Roran. Im not gonna make you do something too extreme. We can go out at a bar or a dance club. Something like that. You don't even have to drink anything in there."she told him MorganaLeFay MorganaLeFay

He shrugged and nodded, knowing that he probably wouldn't be able to win this argument. "Alright. But, you have to read my favorite novel."
