Fandom Master Games? Part 1: The Awakening

ThunderDash

New Member
He was ready...ready to complete his mission...to find a team to compete in what he called "The Master Games." and see if they would survive. The six had been chosen. His assistant kept a sharp watch. The Mastermind, as he named himself prepped all of the lands and scattered them with items. He then created monsters to roam the areas and big ones to guard them all. One by one, he made the chosen six disappear from their worlds and appear in his world, which was divided into five regions, or "levels" as he called them. This was the first step of his plan.

Bogon Galaxy: Endako, Clank's Apartment

"Did'ya get all the things we need, Clank?"

"Of course, everything we need is all stored in the back compartment of Aphelion"

"Great! Now we just need to head out and find us some Gold Bolts"

"We could've kept watching our show if we had done this earlier, Ratchet."

Ratchet flicked on a switch somewhere on the dashboard and slowly felt Aphelion booting itself up. He knew that if they had searched before, they could've spent more time watching their shows and not wait until they ran out of bolts to pay for their subscription. But they were getting up to the good part; the protagonist was about to get eaten by one of the Leviathans that were from the swamps of Planet Sarathos in Solana Galaxy, but then dodged the fate of meeting death when his sidekick swooped in and saved his butt. And right after their subscription had to end just then.

"Well it doesn't matter now, lets just get to Barlow and find where they're mining a few of them." Ratchet replied dismissively. Aphelion was up in the air now and they were making their way out of the Metropolis. As they neared the atmosphere, a message came through and played onto their screen.

Captain Qwark's large mug took half of their screen and Ratchet could hear a soft groan coming from Clank. Qwark greeted them with a "Hey there, you two!". Ratchet rolled his green irises but kept his hand steady on the steering wheel. "Hey Qwark, why did you call us?" The Lombax replied, his eyes darting from Qwark's face to the open, starry space of the Galaxy.

"I- uh, sorta need some backup"

"What happened? Are you cornered somewhere? Are things tryin' to blast you to oblivion?"

"Nope, my ship got stuck between two meteorites near Damosel, care to give me a hand?"

"Can't... you just use your thrusters to try and get out?"

"Yeah- nope, they're busted too."

Ratchet groaned and frowned at Qwark. Although they usually help the Superhero, they really needed to get back to their show. "Alright, alright. We'll be there soon, but you better have a Gold Bolt somewhere in your ship." Captain Qwark gave them a thumbs up before saying his farewell and closing his transmission.

Clank placed his hands at the back of his neck and crossed one leg over the other. "I suppose we should hurry up and get Qwark out of his predicament." Clank said in a matter-of factly tone. Ratchet sighed, and changed his coordinates to what Qwark had sent them.

As Aphelion sped it's way through space, a small light started to appear, but it was only a dot, barely noticeable. But then the small light grew rapidly, as it started to engulf the screen so Ratchet couldn't see where he was going.

"The heck? I can't see anything! What's going on?" He cried, looking at the other screen installed on the dashboard.

"Strange waves detected." Aphelion stated, as the entire spacecraft started to shake. "St-strange wa-ves of what?!"

Before Ratchet and Clank could react or even tell what was going on, they seemed to have landed on a desert terrain with nothing in sight.

Clank straightened his position and looked over at the dashboard screen, it wasn't blinking anymore or showing any familiar signs. The blinding light was gone too.

Ratchet shook his head and pressed a button to open the top half of the spacecraft so they could get out and check their surroundings. The Lombax expected the air to not be breathable, but due to the fact he was able to suck in oxygen when he got out, it was 'safe'. It was awfully hot here too, it gave Ratchet nostalgia of similar planets that were pretty hot. He let out a small sigh and fanned himself with his glove as he trudged to the back of Aphelion to get his weapons.

Clank jumped out onto the ground, surprised at the small cracks running through it. Looks like water is gonna be hard to find. A voice suddenly rang out across the terrain, "Welcome, to the Master Games.". The small robot could hear Ratchet's surprise gasp at the voice and a few weapons falling onto the dusty ground.

"Master games...hmm? I've never heard of such a thing." Clank mumbled as he made his way back to Ratchet and away from the glare of the Sun.

Master Games, it rang a bell inside Ratchet's mind. It sounded like another Fight-To-The-Death sort of game, and boy, was he getting really tired of those.

The Day was just breaking when Torn Barged into the upstairs of the Naughty Ottsel, awaking both Jak and Daxter from their peaceful respite. "Get up! Both of you! This is urgent!" he yelled in a gruff voice, thrusting the sheets off Jak's bed. Jak opened his eyes slowly and glanced around the room with blurred vision, trying to find the source of the ruckus. Sure enough, he saw Torn bent over Daxter's small bed, looking quite annoyed.

"What is it?" Jak groaned, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as they adjusted to the brightness of the room. Torn spun around and strode immediately over the younger man's bed. He took a moment to survey Jak, his piercing blue eyes locked into the blonde's, before choosing to answer.

"Ashelin wants you and Daxter to check out Haven Forest. She reckons Metal heads are regrouping there." Torn ordered whilst opening the curtain near the window, allowing more light to filter in. Jak groaned again at this rude intrusion and sat up, feeling his head spin briefly. It had been more than a year since he and Dax were asked to complete any missions, and right now Jak wasn't in the mood.

Torn turned around and left out the door. Jak watched his friend's receding back and heard his footsteps disappear down the stairs. Jak slowly rose out of bed and wandered over to the Ottsel. The soft soft noise of Daxter's snore could be heard in the silent room. Jak softly kicked the box Daxter calls a bed, causing the Ottsel to jump out of the box, screaming and falling face first on the cold floor.

Jak chuckled softly, searching his room for clothes to wear. He dressed into some everyday clothes and tidied up his hair the best he could. "Hey! Me and Tess were going at it before you RUDELY woke me up." Dax complained as he sat up from the floor. He yawned loudly as he walked over to Jak, hopping onto his usual spot, Jak's left shoulder, helping Jak reach for and strap his morph-gun to his back. Together the duo left the tiny bedroom. Wandering down the narrow staircase, Jak let his eyes roam the spacious, almost empty bar.

Jak let Dax on to what exactly they were called for, stepping outside the bar into the early morning sun. He squinted through the bright light, searching the steers and finding his bearings. The Port region was virtually deserted, except the occasional stray wanderer or dirver. "Quick Jak, get that one over there!" Daxter yelled enthusiastically, pointing at a parked zoomer a few meters down the path. "Old times Dax, old times," Jak smiled mischievously

Walking over to the abandoned, one-seated zoomer, he swing up onto the seat with ease and turned the ignition on, hoping it still functioned. The loud purring of the engine was a relief to his ears, and he secretly thanked the precursors that so far the mission was a success. Listening to the healthy sound of the engine gave Jak those memories where he had hijacked at least twenty zoomers a day, not noticing his surrounding growing significantly brighter. Daxter shrinked deeper into Jak's shoulder. "Umm... Jak? The orange weasel tapped Jak's cheek, pointing towards what up to where the light seemed to brightest. Jak looked up to where his sidekick was pointing, flinching away from the bright light. The light intensified, engulfing the duo. "Hang on Dax." Jak twisted the handlebar, now blinded by the light. the duo shot forward, leaving the mysterious light behind, gaining their sight again.

What they saw was no longer the Port, but some sort of desert that didn't resemble the desert of Spargus. The blond glanced over to make sure the ottsel was alright. Daxter was curled around Jak's shoulder, shaking lightly. "Jak? Are we dead yet?" "No, pretty sure we're still alive, but it seems we went through a jumpgate and ended up in the middle of no where." Daxter unraveled himself from Jak and took in his surroundings. "Great. Just great. A simple mission would be appreciated but instead we end up here?" Daxter screamed across the endless dunes of sand. As Jak jumped off the zoomer, a myserious voice rang out. "Welcome, to the Master Games," causing Dax to jump and frantically look around for the source of the voice. Jak simply just sighed, feeling as though this will be a long day.

Len yawned when laying down in bed, then rocketed up to sit up straight. It was a weird habit of his, and he hoped to stop it. He squinted at his clock, which was blaring, but he couldn't hear it. It had said... 9:00?! He was late for school! He quickly got up, got dressed, and headed out the front door. He was soon confronted by... (Insert whatever way you guys got to the master games here >_> I didn't have the patience to read your posts) and suddenly arrived in a desert.

The goal? To survive, and find a boss, as written on the paper. He looked up at the sky as if asking a god why this was happening, before he heard an alarming "Welcome... To the Master Games." He just looked up at the sky, expectantly this time, and sighed before he miserably looked out to the massive area of desert.
