NPCs
Amelia Thatcher: The captain
Not much is known about the brittle, commanding woman. She has an excellent performance record both back on earth and in Andromeda. Her teams had the fewest casualties during the uprising and took some of the fewest lives. That in itself highlights her priorities. Thatcher is a conservative fighter and doesn't like making gambles with her team. She is defined as a 'major hard-ass' by her subordinates but no one can argue she gets the job done. On a very rare occasion you will find her soft or sentimental, but she believes that side of herself is best kept hidden, for the sake of her team, and for her own.
Thatcher is in her late 40s and is starting to show signs of her age. Her uniform is always perfect and her hair tied back in a military bun. She has several medals given after the uprising, all of which are stuffed in a box in her quarters, she does not wear them.

Tenara Ketrus: The doctor
The doctor assigned to the APEX ship Legacy. Tenara is tall and slender with a light-coloured face plate and no tattoos. Her eyes are light blue show the nature of one who has seen too much combat. Tenara served in the turian military and moved up the ranks to senior medical officer in her small garrison. Tenara was head-hunted by turian leadership on the Andromeda project. She worked tirelessly through the uprising, becoming disillusioned with the initiative as she was given more and more patients that had been wounded by friends or family. She stayed however, but promised herself she would never take an administrative position within the nexus and applied for a ship doctor the moment APEX was founded.

Charlie Summers: The engineer
The ship's engineer.Charlie was a wiz with mechanics from a very young age. She knew exactly where she wanted to be, and that was working on the most advanced ships the Milky Way could build. That meant she caught wind of the Andromeda initiative and got herself hired as a junior engineer on the team. She hadn't initially intended to go with the initiative, but her pirate father put her at risk of arrest and life imprisonment so she fled before she could be convicted.
Her blond hair is usually tied back in a messy ponytail and she wears the same white shirt/grease-stained mechanic jacket combo almost 24-7. Charlie is a smart mouth, but knows her ship inside and out and can be a great friend, provided you can put up with her.

Dantan Vetruvius: The pilot
Is fairly average for a turian. Obeys orders, doesn't talk back, but if you really get to know him you'll find he's good fun and has a well-developed sense of humour.
Dantan was down as one of the top pilots in his academy, though not the best, certainly the most practical. The first ship he was assigned to was stolen in the uprising and he found himself fighting his fellow soldiers just to escape. Dantan carries the guilt with him still, but he will never bring it up unprompted. Dantan is broad-shouldered with a lengthy crest that has one tine broken at its half point, the result of a jump he made from his ship to the nexus docks as it was taking off. He had angular, light-green tattoos on his face plate that are thickest at his forehead and taper into thing lines over his cheeks.

Kiilan: The scientist
A young salarian who dreamed of bigger things. Kiilan had mastered an understanding of his home-planet's biota before he graduated from the science academy. He had always dreamed of visiting another galaxy and leapt at the chance to go to Andromeda. The uprising frustrated him beyond words, it being in his eyes completely senseless and a direct barrier to his scientific work. Kiilan has an unusual level of compassion and a strong moral compass for a salarian, perhaps stemming from his early-year collaboration with a humans science team.
Kiilan has faded green skin peppered with yellow freckles, which concentrate in the center of his face just under his eyes. He speaks quickly, and the best way to excite him is to bring him a new plant or animal sample he hasn't encountered yet.

Tarka “Tark” Zey Aran

Species: Angara

Age: 24

Class: Anagran Insurgent

Height: 181cm (5'9")

Weight: 105kg (231lbs)

Tarka.jpg
Brief description:
Tarka’s skin is blue in colour, lighter on his face from his cheekbones down and spreading out onto the sides of his neck. He has a purple stripe trailing the center of his head right down to his chin and has a noticeable scar on the left side of his face. His eyes are also blue and seem to blend with his overall colour, though the light in them is hard to miss. He is small for a male Angara, standing half a foot below the average. Tarka usually chooses a combat suit fitted in an Angaran style and coloured black and teal.

  • Shield boost
Reinforces the shields of all nearby allies, providing a large initial boost followed by several seconds of ongoing shield regeneration.

    Sentry turret
Deploys an automated assault turret that fires two-burst shots every 3 seconds

    Trip mine
Deploys an explosive mine that triggers when an enemy comes within proximity of or crosses a sensor laser. Enemies suffer more damage the closer they are to the mine.

Age:
24

Class:
Vanguard

Brief description:

  • Content for skills:
    Tech Armor:
The power generates an energy armor suit that boosts the user's shield. When the armor is destroyed, it sends out a pulse of energy, damaging nearby enemies and knocking down unprotected targets while staggering most protected targets. (Mass Effect Wikia)

    Throw:
Throw is mostly used to keep opponents at a distance by either launching them away or knocking them over, damaging them and rendering them helpless. (Mass Effect Wikia)

    Stasis:
Stasis causes an enemy to be temporarily locked in a mass effect field freezing the target in place and making them unable to attack. Enemies in Stasis also become impervious to damage. (Mass Effect Wikia)

  • M-11 Suppressor
    Kett Carfalon

Kirthos Baticus

Species: Turian
Age: 25
Height: 6’5 (77 inches)
Weight: 235 pounds
Class: Cabal

video_tutorial___turian_portrait_3_final_by_krubbus-d5neuqg.png

Brief description:
Kirthos is an average looking Turian at least as far as humans can tell, although from a Turian standpoint Kirthos is roguish-looking. His talons are kept rather sharp and he is roughly average height. On the left side of his face, he has a scar from where he was hit by a falling piece of debris during an attack on the Citadel. The scar is a small line going from below his eye sideways towards his fringe.

  • Tactical Cloak - When activated, it instantly renders the Infiltrator invisible to all enemies and grants a damage bonus to all weapons. However, it also halts health and shield regeneration, leaving the Infiltrator vulnerable once the cloak wears off.

Energy Drain - Energy Drain saps enemies' kinetic barrier power to boost your shields. It travels in a straight line to the target, hitting instantly. Detonates primed targets.

Singularity - Deploys a gravity well that lifts and damages unshielded and unarmored enemies. Primes enemies for combo detonations.

Matthew "Hawke" Harrington

Species: Human

Age: 25

Class: Journalist/ Soldier

hyp610.jpg

Brief description:
Matthew “Hawke” Harrington, had a knack for things – mostly getting into places that he damned knew better than to be. It was the calling card of all journalists, ‘real reporters’ he would claim, to be in the thick of the action. To properly be able to tell the story, one had to observe it, he liked to tell his colleagues; if any of them could stand him long enough to listen.

Andromeda offered something that very few places could give Hawke – a place to get into new weeds, new dirt, new life, and tell the world. It was breath-taking in its questioning embrace of freedom, majesty, and wonder. He hadn’t even hesitated to take a few courses beforehand – he had been through a couple weeks of training with Alliance troops when he had imbedded with their number – and he nearly dove into the waiting arms of the cryo chamber.

When he awoke, the beauty and the paradise was like a bad dream. Lucky, or unlucky, he had been awoken within the first few months to start cataloguing the Nexus’ opening and its legacy. Hawke had witnessed funerals with more mirth in those days.

The riots were inevitable. The photos and video that flashed before his lens was … well, there were few words to describe the fear, anger, depression, and animal nature of individuals. He had tried to spin it, to label it as something hopefully; perhaps a few bad eggs had gotten through the cracks of the program and it was better now that they were free.

And, then the attacks on Initiative starter settlements began. Panic, not open, but the sensation was still felt like the prickle across the skin: Was this Andromeda initiative a waste of lives and credits?

No, he swore, and he had to prove it – if only to himself.

This was a new galaxy, a new home, and a new story. With trepidation, he had convinced the powers that be to allow him to enlist in the APEX program, or the Nexus militia. They were the ones on the front lines protecting the Initiative, and helping win this galaxy – it was a story that the Nexus did not want, but needed.

  • Combat Fitness: A desk has never held Hawke long in his career, nor does it seem like it in the future. Making his own fitness an extension of his career meant not ever being a liability to whatever unit, organization, or situation that he found himself. It also was an any easy excuse for why he was single.

Pistols: It had been a very long time since his basic Alliance training, and a 600 year nap didn’t help his accuracy with a rifle. The M-3 Predator is what he trusts himself, and what his superiors trust him not shoot himself in the leg with.

Energy Drain: Resourceful is in his dogged nature, and it helps to find ways to get power for a dead camera battery – or, killing the battery of his old editor’s car.

Pat Smith
Species: Human
Age: 20
Class: Sentinel (Flexible, balanced between tech, biotics, and combat)
image

Brief description: Pat was an alliance marine in the force recon, tasked with scouting ahead of the main force of an alliance marine contingent. He was still green when he joined the initiative and hadn't had very much expierence in the batllefield. He is a tall standing at about 6'4. His appearance doesn't betray any special appearances but he is pretty strong for a human and has good endurance after rowing in school. He is a CQC speicalist and is trained in taekwondo and pankration.

  • Blade Armour: Activates razor sharp blades to erupt from the armour allowing for increased melee attack and defence.

Warp: rips enemies apart at a molecular level. Affects armor as well as machines and organics.

Fitness:Fitness increases health and grants Immunity

"The truth may work for some, but I find it is better to be flexible."
May I present Esme: The small and bitter human espresso.

  • Shockwave - When used, the power sends out a series of explosive biotic impacts in front of the user ignoring any obstacles.

Barrier- use mass effect fields to protect a user from damage similar to that of a kinetic barrier, but with some unique characteristics.

Pull - can use Pull to generate a mass-lowering field, which levitates enemies into the air. While aloft, enemies will slowly drift towards the biotic, allowing any allies to finish them off effortlessly.
