IT'S BEGINNING...
It’s 2024 on Earth-12103, and the world is shifting. The age of heroes has only just begun—mutants are catching the eyes of the media, inspiring awe and fear alike. Whispers of powered individuals—some masked, some militarized—are beginning to circulate, but their presence is still fresh, uncertain.
Meanwhile, New York City is on the verge of collapse. Wilson Fisk, a rising corporate giant turned political figure, promises to restore the city to glory with clean infrastructure, charitable funds, and sweeping legislation. The Maggia have returned, ruthless and well-connected, and they are starting a war with the Russian mob. War is boiling into the public. The underbelly of New York has been opened up and blood is spilling into the gutters.
From the chaos, a fanatical cult has emerged—the Crimson Choir, the True Church. Preaching salvation through blood and fire, they commit ritualistic murders and incite mass hysteria. Stranger still, many are beginning to support them. As faith is twisted and fear spreads, something—or someone—must rise. Vigilante or outcast, this is the beginning of a war written in scripture and shadow.
1.CHARACTER CREATION
I'm looking for 7–8 players to form the core cast of this story. Since the universe is just beginning to stir with costumed vigilantes and powered individuals, it makes the most sense for our characters to also be in their early years of crime-fighting. This is a street-level roleplay—gritty, grounded, and personal. Ideal characters might include a defected Widow operative, a disillusioned S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, a low-tier Mutant or Inhuman, an investigative journalist, or a hardened detective with something to prove. Canon characters are absolutely welcome, but you're encouraged to make them your own. Whether you're reimagining a legacy hero or building someone original from the ground up, bring your voice and your vision. What's important is that everyone feels like they belong on the streets of a city teetering on the edge. Characters should also be protagonists—their morals may remain ambiguous as this is a more crime noir styled RP—but they should not be villains. Additionally, characters should not have super awesome tech that can get them out of any situation. Again, these characters should be in their beginning years, sorting things out as they come.
2.ANTAGONISTS
The main antagonist will be written by me and will be the—opposing—driving force of this roleplay. However, if you want to take on the role of a smaller antagonist that is more than welcome! NPC antagonists (henchmen and the like) will be open for your own discretion as you see fit.
3.COLLABORATION
Some pieces of work will need to be worked on as a partnership or group. With that being said, here's some groundwork for working on collaborative piece: find time to work on it together or at least come up with ideas; be willing to compromise, you have to give a little to get a little; and, open-editing is acceptable and encouraged, this is a work between two or more people after all. With this said, there will be no dice used in this roleplay unless writers need to settle a debate through chance. Instead, anything that has been written must be taken as "action/lore". If there's a discrepancy, I encourage communication between writers to solve the problem (which could mean retconning details and/or events while in the editing/draft phase).
4.POSTING
When posting, your character should either be setting up lore or building the world (action) or responding to someone's established detail (reaction). Posts should not be one-liners and should be able to carry substance.
5.THE UNIVERSE
This is not the MCU, nor is it tied directly to the comics. Earth-12103 is our own version of the Marvel world—familiar in many ways, but uniquely shaped by this story. Some historical events remain the same (World War II, the Cold War, etc.), but the emergence of superheroes is still a recent and escalating phenomenon. Captain America, for example, has only just resurfaced in the public eye. Mutants are beginning to gain attention—and fear—in the media. Figures like Wilson Fisk are making power moves in politics and business. This means you are free to reinterpret canon events, organizations, and characters. S.H.I.E.L.D. is still a shadow organization, and the Avengers have yet to form for the first time. Feel encouraged to give your own spin to recognizable names—or invent something new that fits the tone. Think crime noir, urban decay, rising corruption, and the quiet desperation of a city on the edge. This universe belongs to all of us—so help shape it!
