Caution is advised: this interest check contains promise for mature-themed interactions, slight possibilities of grit and gore, and the promise of tricks and mysteries that are sure to develop your favorite created characters. The last bit is my hope, at least. **Scroll to the bottom spoiler for the mobile friendly version for all my mobile friends.**
In an old, long-forgotten boonie's county, backwater town, off the exit of some old truck route, there's a 24-hour diner. So old that it's practically fallen off every map known to modern man. Filled with gruffy old drivers, old gals serving from the 60s and a random litter of lost or tired travelers from time to time. It's such a sad spot that the only locals you ever find there are the employees. No one that actually lives in the town is ever there. Bless whoever still decides to remain in such a boring, unwanted town.
There is a looming stigma of the entire town, mostly from ghost stories passed down the grapevine, nothing that caused concern or warranted investigation though. But no one ever stays long enough to care, and no one that's lived there for ages notices it.
Be the reason you stop here is for shelter for the night from long, weary travels, a bite to eat, wanderlust for old towns, ghost hunting or love for traditional creepy things, antique shopping or simply being lost on the back roads of this old truck route... you'll notice there's a magazine stand by the front of the diner with a dark, intriguing, scripted paper advertisement that reads:
[div style="width:400px;background-color:black;color:white;text-align:justify;font-size:11px; line-height:95%;margin: 0 auto;"][div style="background-image:url(http://i.imgur.com/OJoGxaa.png); height:92px;background-position: center;"][/div][div style="font-family:Times New Roman;text-transform:Uppercase;font-size:18px;text-align:center;color:white;margin-bottom:-13px; line-height:100%;"]

Come one, come all -- come big, come small. Wonder, mystery and magic that is sure to bewilder those of any and all ages. If you're under the age of 10, however, you must 100% accompanied by an adult or guardian! So... Come closer, my friends, and enter if you dare... this splendiferous escape room: The Mansion of Mirrors. This escape room is not like any you've experienced before, so be advised, it is not for the feint of heart.
You can find grief, mischief, amazement and prizes beyond your wildest dreams. If but you make it out.
Alive.

Hi, friends! This will be a modern-day setting, paranormal-esque horror theme, set in the back truck routes of Mesa, Arizona, USA (that's the most boring state I can think of right now, apologies to anyone that lives there and thinks it's not boring, haha). But Google confirms it's #7 on the most boring cities. Blame Google!
This is 100% meant to be a story that bends to the will of every writer anything you write, anything you do, anything you feel is important becomes just that. 100% important. Any major events (should this get interest) will be posted in the OOC and I'll kindly expect you to make sure your characters catch up to major event that require all parties, such as getting into a new part of a room, or a clue that advances toward the escape of the characters. This plot is meant to be more mystery/drama/horror/mature themed. IF you choose to get romantically involved, do as you wish, but I advise against getting too tangled in character interaction, especially if we all don't know everyone's posting speeds, so that the storyline can continue onward smoothly. If you decide that you can no longer play, we will respectfully and mysteriously let the mansion eat your character. You will be missed.
As far as the location is concerned, think of this escape room/mansion similiar to an episode of Scooby-Doo, yes, I totally said Scooby-Doo. Think of out-of-the-box things, like moving a book and revealing a hidden corridor -- or, if you've been in an actual escape room, finding a code that reveals a new clue, or a key to get you into the next room. I, ideally, plan to have as many rooms as there are characters, so I ask that if you choose to double up, please don't play more than two characters. The maximum I'd like to do is mayyybe 10 rooms, max. Pretty, pretty please ~
Sadly, I will only be playing the host that welcomes you to the escape mansion, and comes on the intercom with hints, and the diner NPCs even though I wanted to submit a character... *sobs a little*. This is so I make sure that I play fair and do not favor my own character... plus I can post everyday (if I really put my mind to it) and do minor interactions to get us to where we need to be. As the hostess, I will do heavy foreshadowing in my posts (but also will put hints in the OOC threads) to help guide you along, my pretties.
Well, this is a lot for one post, especially for an interest check. I'm suddenly feeling self conscious. So I'm crossing my fingers that I haven't scared anyone away from my first interest check on this site, haha... ha... hah. Leaving this thread, my PMs are wide open for any chats anyone wants to have, or questions, etc, etc, etc.
