The ride to a new school is always challenging, but it was especially so for the Hart twins. Their father, excuse me, the king had insisted on them going here, a school to find soulmates. Which, isn't actually all that helpful when you don't have one. Sure, there is always the possibility, but it is rare. And now, Theo has to live with a group taking advantage of that which he wishes he had. What he would do for just a moment with one. As a seer, every relationship he has is most likely doomed to fail, since at some point his partner would find their soulmate. And sure, he could create a thread with someone, but who would want to willingly spend their life with him?
It was not only the more opinionated Hart that initally rejected the idea, but the both of them. Of course, they hadn't ended up with a choice, as their father is sending them there as a "gesture of goodwill" to the country in which the school stands. But, thanks to his sister's quick thinking, the twins wouldn't have to ride in to the campus in a limo. Well, they had, but thirty minutes before anyone else. Remi had come up with the idea to tell their driver the wrong time, so no one would see them in the fancy car and question their lineage. Of course, this extravagant vehicle was only a show for the citizens, one that would go unnoticed. The "prince" had always objected to the idea of being royal. In his opinion, as long as he has to worry about being able to eat that night, no one should praise him during the day.
So, there he sits, phone in hand, on the crappy bed the school had provided. He had long ago finished putting away his clothes, as he doesn't have many, so he's decided to just scroll through YouTube until he meets his roommate. Of course, whoever he is rooming with has to meet their soulmate first, so he's content to sit on his bed, wasting the minutes until then.

Of course, when Remi was told that this shitty school had a uniform, she decided that she wouldn't wear it. Sure, her sperm donor had attempted to stop her, but that would require him actually giving a shit about her. And, no one is getting her in a skirt without fishnets. Well, maybe they did, but for a short time. So, in the car she sat, with her stupid long skirt and blazer, waiting for an opportunity to go change into her actual outfit. Apparently, ripped jeans and a teacher aren't befitting of a princess, but neither is living in a shack. That is what actually gave her the idea to come early to school, as no one would catch her dead in a blazer. Her brother, ass that he is, got to wear his actual clothes, as they were "appropriate". Even he knows that it's not about the clothes.
Remi has always been the one to challenge people, even if she likes them. So, it's safe to say that she challenges royalty quite a bit. That's why the second she gets inside her dorm, she changes out of that sexist uniform into something more comfortable. Which for her, means ripped jeans and a crop top. It's funny how being in something more revealing can make an insecure person feel more confident. Not that her outfit is even revealing, but compared to the garbage bag she was wearing earlier, she's practically naked. Well, not really, but Remi is rather upset so it's better to just agree with her. And if she says fuck the patriarchy, then you do so.
So, there she sits, bored out of her mind. Remi had finished unpacking some time ago and she found the dorm room rather... empty so she decided to sit on a bench in the hallway. However, she quickly regrets doing so when she catches a flash of red near her hand. Please god no she thinks, before looking at her hand. There it is. The stupid thread she had been dreading since she was seven. Maybe, whoever her soulmate is, they'll just leave her alone? Whoever he is, he can cut their thread and they will both be on their way. But, even she knows that it's unlikely. All she can bring herself to do is wait for her doom.

There is no possible way for a long car ride with your estranged parents to not be awkward. For the last few hours, Aurora has been sitting in the backseat, just listening to her parents discussing "her future" or lack there of. Of course, this is something that in your typical family, the child would have the last word in. Not only does she not have the last word, but she is expected to not say any. So, she's just been sitting in the back, looking at her phone, thinking, and getting carsick. During a typical car ride of this size, she would be laughing with her friends while screaming song lyrics to a musical. That would, however, require her to have friends. They all are back home, now only to be seen during long requested breaks from school.
For a normal family, leaving for a new school would be a whole ordeal. Tears, hugging, the works. But, for the Peterson family, their goodbye lasted a full 5 seconds, which was longer than normal for them. Maybe they would miss her? As Aurora gets out of the car, she notes that her parents don't even look back. They don't bother to get a last look at their child, who may come back to them finally loved. And though Aurora wasn't aware, the next time she saw her parents she would be changed. She would know what love she deserved and be determined to get it. But, for now, she blinks aware the tears in her eyes as they say their goodbyes. "Well, I guess this is it" She speaks up, hoping that they good care, hoping that maybe- "We've got to get to work Aurora" Her mother speaks up, her voice exasperated. And with that, the teen grabs her bags and leaves her family behind.
As she approaches the school's front door, her mind drifts to her favorite topic, fairy tales. Thinking about the newest fairy tale adaptation she wants to write, she can't help but compare herself to the heroine. Maybe that is why she loves fairy tales so much. Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Snow White, what do they all have in common? They were unloved, similar to herself. If Snow White and Cinderella, who's only skills were cooking and cleaning ended up with a happy ending, why can't she? This topic occupies her thoughts as she pauses in the school's entrance-way, looking at her phone to find her room number.
