Arthur Sinjin Hearst

Age: 30

Body: Stands at a good 6'0" and has a fit, muscular body but not overly so. He holds no tattoos or piercings, but he does have some freckles in various places due to being in the sun.

Occupation: Sailor

Background: Born to a family of middle-class, Arthur has always been a lover of the sea. His father had been a sailor and so it was only natural for him to follow in his dad's footsteps. He is an only child due to complications within his mother, but they are a tight-knit family and love each other dearly, though Arthur has recently been nagged at to find a wife just so his mother could be a grandmother.

Bo lay on the beach, lazily, on his back with his hands behind his head looking up at the sky. The birds were singing and swirling. He had been hunting for the day and had eaten as had his clan. They were off doing there own thing. Some where up on the island, some where napping. The younger one were playing. It was all peaceful. His tail splashed about relaxing him as he felt as if her would drift to sleep. Of course he wouldn't that could be dangerous but he was just content he could if he wished too. There were no predators here and the island was a hotspot for other mermaids to visit when they were traveling so they always had new people to talk to and move on with if they wanted. However he was happy here. His older sister had moved on with another clan that came here frequently. She had fallen for one of the young men. The can she joined was a lot bigger than the three family can they had. Actually a lot of clans were a lot bigger. They had been hunter back in their old home of the coast of China. They moved after to many deaths. Some even dying in the migration.

Arthur didn't know why this had to happen. At one point, everything was going perfectly fine. There had been no signs of storming - it was actually a rather hot and dry day - and everybody had been cooperating and working at a fine pace. But suddenly, out of nowhere a pirate ship approached them and it was too late to get away. There was fighting amongst the sailors and pirates, some deaths, and Arthur honestly felt lucky that he had ended up in the ocean rather than his life being in the hands of the pirates.

But he didn't get away completely fine. A sword wound was beginning to fester on his side. A day had gone by without water or food, and the only thing that supported the human male was a flimsy piece of wood. He had hardly slept as he spent the rest of the day and night praying that his beloved sea would somehow keep him safe. But he hardly doubted he'd survive much longer.

Too tired to keep his eyes open, he drifted off to sleep. Whether it was the sea that answered his prayers or it was just dumb luck, his body slowly washed up to the surface of a beach.

The clan had enjoyed there day but it was getting close to the hottest part and they needed to be in the water for that. Dehydration was way to easy then. Most of the clan used this time to rest as night was perfect for them it was clod and slightly damp itself. Bo however was feeling curious today so stayed near the island to swim and look around. It had been such nice weather, no storms and the such he didn't expect to find much. Getting halfway round the island he saw a shape through the water it seemed an odd shape, not something of an animal he had seen round her.

Bo swam to the surface fast he wanted to make sure whatever it was it was okay. He broke thought the surface, water pouring down hs hair and face. The eyes of the mermaid widened as he realised it was a human. He hadn't seen one is almost eleven years. He went closer and saw it was breathing, even if it was only barely. Going to its side he got out of the water and onto the shore, blue-green scaly legs took his tails place and the fins that sat on his back and forearms went away. He flipped the human onto his back and pulled him under the shade of a tree. He listened to the creatures heart and breathing not she what he sould do next.

He was moving again. It wasn't like the sea though... there wasn't a freedom here like there was in the water. It was... kind of rough. The human male's eyes fluttered open, though he hardly saw anything other than bright light and small glimpses of the sky until he closed them again. It was so warm and then it suddenly got a little cooler.

Arthur wasn't in the ocean anymore, and he stayed pretty out of it until he felt something against his chest. His pale eyes opened again, fluttering and then slowly blinking until he realized he was on solid land. Body jerking, he suddenly sat up but was quickly put back in his place as the wound on his side shot pain throughout his body. He hissed and hands immediately went to his side as he looked at it, not even noticing that he wasn't alone.

He watched the man wake and jumped slightly. Upon realising he wasn't noticed he went to the other side of the human on the ground, kneeling on the cool sand to look at the cut he was holding. Humans in how they healed was different to mermaids however he did know how to treat humans having done it before. However Arte hadn't noticed it while taking him to the shade.

It was when the mermaid knelt on the ground beside him and looked at his cut that Arthur realized there was another person on the beach. He looked up, wide-eyed and slightly paranoid. "Who - "cough, "Who are you?" he asked with much difficulty. His voice was raspy from not drinking anything for the past day or so. He looked the stranger over and noticed the strange but beautiful scales decorating his legs, and his first instinct had him reaching out to touch them.

The mermaid immediately backed away from the human's hand unsure what he was doing. By the voice of the human he could tel he was thirsty. Since he was up from backing a way from the vampire he went to get water leaving the human for awhile, though still in the human's sight. A mermaid's voice was not pleasent above land of human ears. Only from sea water would Bo's voice be understandable to the sailor. So he was planning to not talk. Taking a leaf, that was cupped he came back to give the huma water.

"Hey, wait!" Arthur called before coughing again. He winced at the pain it brought him as he watched the strange male walk away. "Where are you going?" he tried again, though it seemed as if the other was ignoring him. Groaning, he laid back down and held onto his side, which stung and ache all at the same time. It wasn't too deep, but it was still festering and that was a problem.

When the stranger came back, Arthur took the leaf full of water eagerly and chugged it down quickly. By the time he was finished, he had calmed down some and he looked over the other again. "Sorry if I scared you... those things on your legs, though... they're just so intriguing. They look like scales." He didn't know if he was delusional, but everything seemed so real. He then shook his head, realizing that he had to focus on what was important. "Ah, this wound is beginning to fester. Is there anything on this island that can clean it?"

He watched the man drink never seeing someone do it so fast. He watched him and nodded slightly at the mention of them being scales. As he looked back to the cut the human mentioned it was festering, Bo needed to speak with Arthur. He didn't know that word and needed to ask about it. he started digging into the sand to get sea water to cup into his hands. After a little digging he got water that has soaked through. The mermaid pulled the water up in his hands and spoke.

"What needs to clean it?" He managed to ask before all the salt water slipped through his fingers.

The human watched with his pale eyes as the strange man began to dig into the sand. Arthur didn't know what for until the other cupped his mouth with the water he retrieved from the ground. He cocked his head to the side, puzzled but in wonder. He wanted to ask what this guy was, but he needed to focus on the slash on his side.

He listed off the things he needed, trying to just use the basics in hope that the items were on the island or the other male just might have something.

The man sat and listened carefully trying to think of where to get these items. Most could be gotten on the island and a few could be replaced with other items on the. A couple of things however couldn't be found or replaced. The mermaid stood and held a finger up to the human to signal he would be back in a minute. He went to the water and jumped in, his blue fin on the end of his tail sticking out the water and slapping down to propel him though the water. Bo needed help, not knowing how long the infected slash would take to kill the human he didn't want to be looking for everything alone. He found the children awake and said they were going on a treasure hunt. The person who found the most things would get a pearl. However once one of the items was found they needed to tell the others as duplicates didn't count.

The four mermaids went to different areas of the island and went tot start looking each having their legs covered in scales matching their tail colour. Bo came back up close to where he found Arthur and got more fresh water coming back to him and knelt beside him. Bo's feminine hands started to clean the slash in the man's side gingerly. Every so often there would be a horrid wailing screech that filled the air or the mostly quiet place. It was the children telling others of what they had found. It was the sound of a mermaid's voice when not filtered by water. Anyone but other mermaids understood it rather than hearing the noise everyone else would.

Arthur watched the strange man jump into the ocean and his eyes widened as he saw legs transform into a... a tail?? That's it, Arthur was having hallucinations. Yup, that was it. Either he was having hallucinations or just a very vivid dream - either way, he couldn't believe his eyes. Mermaids... mermaids were just myths of the sea, weren't they? Legends.

He looked up to the sky, having laid back down, and watched the very few clouds move so slowly. It was warm on the sand as the sun's rays flooded each crook and nanny it could. He closed his eyes, drifting off back to sleep until he felt someone's presence again. He saw that it was the same strange man, but he was so tired that it was a little difficult drinking the fresh water. After he was finished, he collapsed back down and went in and out of sleep. He would have stayed asleep, but those horrid screeches kept filling his ears and waking him up.

He continued to clean it. Then after awhile the the noises stopped and three kids ran over, placing the things down for him. He smiled and nodded at them before they went back into the water. He would give the winner a black pearl later. He sorted out all the things he need then got more salt water out of the dug hole and asked. "How do I do this?"

Arthur winced and clenched his teeth together every once in a while, body tensing as well. The stranger was certainly gentle, but when he had to clean deep was when it really stung. When the other male seemed to be finished, the human just looked him over, really just wanting to get a good sleep in dry clothes and a nice, warm bed.

"Do... what...?" he asked. It was obvious he was very tired.

"Use... the items on you." He spoke softly after getting more water. Then dropped it getting all the things ready to start healing the human. He only knew what some of these did not all of them. He was getting worried. He didn't want the human to sleep until the treament was done. If it got to bad he might not wake up.
