Fantasy Mama Isn't Here To Help You...(Closed, RP here)

It was silent throughout the house, darkness huddled in every corner. Only a piercing beam from the full moon kept the house lit, and the soft light of a flickering candle.

Julius had long ago put the smaller children to bed, making sure they were as full as possible. Even though their dinner was not of large portions. Now it was drawing closer to midnight, the male figure of the household scribbling away on a old faded piece of paper, occasionally stopping to dip his pen into an ink well.

He never slept anymore, not that he could anyway. Julius had to make sure no one crept downstairs from their bedrooms or tried to steal any extra food from the icebox. Besides that, delusions drove him to severe insomnia. Julius always kept his eyes on the darkened corners of the dining room, afraid that 'mother's' spirit would come seeping out from the blackness and drag him to the depths of Hell, where he supposedly belonged, as she once stated in a bitter remark...

Bedtime was always the worst for Will. He hated having to sleep when he wasn't tired. He hated not being able to run around outside while the moon was nice and ripe. There were so many things to be seen at night in the woods. All kinds of different bugs, animals, and plant life to be seen. Even glowing mushrooms that only grew at night; Mama had told him about them once. She had said that she used one of them to make Sabrina. So who needed sleep anyway?
Will tossed and turned in bed, trying to get comfortable. He could hear himself whining a bit. He stopped himself immediately in fear that he might wake Ferrah. Looking over to her bed he was happy to see that he hadn't bothered her. Will laid on his back while poking at his teeth. He needed to bite somthing. And his blanket that he used for chewing on was down stairs in the living room. As he had been thinking about a way to get to it, he was already ripping his bed blanket.
'Ugh, there's another thing to stich up.'
Rolling out of bed and making sure not to make the slightest sound, he opened his bedroom door and looked down the hall. The hallway was a little dark save for the beams of moonlight coming throught the windows. Luckily Will knew this house like the back of his scratched up hands. He slowly made his way to the living room, trying his best not to wake any of his sibblings or alert his father.

Sabrina
The family had never been perfect.

But everything truly had fallen ever since half a decade ago. Somehow, the death of her mother sprung all into madness. It was bad enough that she woke up to the most horrendous screams that night... She didn't want to believe that her father had murdered her. But only the younger of the house could have been fooled. Those screams hinted... short agonied moments, it was a quick death if it was natural causes like her father excused. Conspiracy?

Explain why they were living far away from civilisation, why father was increasingly guilt tripped, agonised and sickly, and sometimes, violent.

Sabrina -knew- that this was an unsafe place to live in. But she just couldn't move out, and abandon the rest of her siblings who couldn't. There were so much things to care for, the farm and the water wells, the overall safety of people in this household, the young... She wasn't the oldest of the five - she was in second place barely - and yet she was tormented the most, always thinking of everything, worrying over each passing day, even if she most likely wasn't the soul being truly tormented, by an unimaginable force......

Sabrina couldn't sleep. And under the shine of the moon through the windows, transparent as they were, she was seen sitting upon a old couch of a few rusted springs poking out, staring to the outside. They were miles away from civilisation, perhaps this was why she was fixated, captivated by the beauty of the light pollutionless sky, of stars and a bright moon. It was always nice to get lost, to be lifted from her life once in a while doing this...

But she couldn't escape this reality. She knew this. And she wouldn't, she wouldn't desert her family for paradise. That was shown, through the slight frown that she bore on her face.

If only...

Elise
The soft sound of quiet people trying to stay hidden scuffling around in the corridor awakened the dark-green haired sister from her light rest, she wanted to sleep but had no reason to and was having difficulty with it at the moment after her recent mother's demise, whom she had always looked up to but never gotten enough attention from. Her body swathed in light silken pajamas as she shuffled to her room's door and slipped it open with the slightest of creaks.

"Which one of you is awake this time..?" Elise whispered into the darkness as her eyes struggled to adjust to the new lighting, her forked tongue flicking out in a small amount of annoyane, but she felt partially happy that something had happened to alleviate her of her bored and unable to sleep state.

Elise, being the middle-child of the family, never knew quite where she fit-in. She was too young to be deemed "responsible" and too old to be deemed a kid, so she simply became rather sulky and defensive when anything happened. "Ferah..? Will..?" She ventured. It wasn't the first time they had snuck out late, and Elise certainly wasn't going to just tell on them to their father, who seemed rather grim since their mother died, but she was still going to give them a talking to. "You know you aren't supposed to be up this late.. I might tell dad." She lied, wondering how they would react as she allowed out a snake-like grin, tongue flicking out once more with glee.

Will had finally reached the living room without being detected. He was surprised to see Sabrina sitting on the couch.
'She looks worried. She must be thinking about mama.' He may have never brought it up but Will felt that Mama dying was not natural. As he has read in some books, people scream when they are killed, not when they are sick. That scream was way to murdery. But how?
Those thoughts would have to wait. Finding his blanket under the couch, he grabbed it and immediately started biteing at it. "Hi Sabrina." He whispered, smiling up at his older sister.

"Which one of you is awake this time?"
He turned to see Elise, with her typical smug look. When she threatened to tell father he scoffed at her, "Pft, yeah right! You wouldn't do that!" He chuckled, still keeping his voice down. "Don't be such a butt, Eli." Will may not have acted like he was worried but there was that small fear that she would tell father. Will stuck his blanket back into his mouth and began to tear at it.

Ferrah tiptoed out of the room huffily. She wasn't tired, and she didn't want to sleep. Her protests had been shut down nearly immediately by the father, and because of that, she was frustrated. Turning her head to look around the dark, moonlit hallways, she sighed inaudibly. Speaking of him, he probably wasn't asleep now, either, like the hypocrite he was. He never slept as far as she knew. She suddenly froze, hearing whispering and sounds of movement in the nearby living room.

She automatically assumed that the noises belonged to her siblings- it wouldn't be the first time they had sneaked out of the room, and her father never made sounds like that. She crept into the room to find Sabrina, Will, and Elise there as well. "Will? Sabrina? Elise?" She whispered fearfully, putting on her best scared face to match it. "I had a bad dream." Her eyes shifted guiltily and began to water, as if she was about to cry. "I'm scared to go back to sleep..."

Julius heard the hushed voices of the children, his eyes lowering at the paper he had been writing. He let out a small sigh and purses his lips together, turning to glance over his shoulder, his eyes slitting at the figures of the children.

"What are you all doing up so late? It's important that children get their sleep." He murmured, frowning at them. The candle that was sitting on the table flickered gently in the darkness, its light highlighting his pale features. Julius looked gastly at the dining room table, wild-eyed and animalistic. "Are you having a hard time sleeping, my dears? I could give you some poppy seeds if you want."

Sabrina
Sabrina came to seeing Will, but only after hearing Elise's voice, however faint. So she noticed her first, but nonetheless turned to her young, and -only- brother, and gave a light smile. "Hi, Will." Spoken with a whispery, and at the same time soft tone, after he addressed Elise. There was no need to question why he was up this late - when he came down just to retrieve that cloth he always chewed on. Couldn't be helped.

But the person who -needed- to be questioned, was Elise, and Sabrina attended and spoke to her, "Neither are you, sweetheart." But only spoke - never a teasing tone of voice. Gentle as she was, it was still not quite for them to be, as young as they were, be awake almost at around midnight, and she did plan to bring them off to bed, for another day of life.

Especially poor Ferrah, whom unfortunately followed them both, presumably at least by Sabrina... But itvwas clear that she was tearing up, and also mentioning low key, that due to a bad dream, she was afraid to sleep. Else the nightmare would return and haunt.

She got up slowly from the couch, went over to Ferrah to crouch right in front of her, and attempt to pull the young girl into an embrace. "There, there, Ferrah.." Topped with back rubs, if possible. "It was only a dream." And with her thumb, also would she attempt to gently wipe the accumilated tears away of the face of the littke girl. "I'll read a bedtime story, stay by your side.. and I won't let anything get to you..." And she stood back up, looking over to everyone else, she..

She pitied Ferrah. She pitied the whole family. Especially her father, whom came to notice all of them being awake, from the dining room through the halls, and asked if they were having hard times sleeping, offering poppy seeds...

It was hard to even think, but Sabrina considered her father to be a lost cause, a sad one. And she couldn't do much to help the man... except to care for the kids, this one need that he still wished to fulfill, past all the pain and resentment, and deteoriation...

"Let's go to bed, guys." Which she tried to do.
