Welcome to Star Wars: Grand Theft Star Destroyer
Hi, I'm Lexielai!
If you don't know me, I'm a longtime roleplayer and avid Star Wars fan. Yet, to this day, I still have never run a Star Wars themed game in my life.
Today, that fact might just change. This here is purely an interest check; I haven't made a thread yet, nor do I intend to until I get a solid group round up. Like all the RPs I've run, this will be DETAILED, and a warning: I expect A LOT from the people I play with.
There are a few character restrictions, which you can feel free to look at below.
With that out of the way, let's get to the story. The year is about 1.5 BBY, or 1 and a half years Before the Battle of Yavin (Star Wars Episove IV). The Empire's hold on the galaxy is slipping with increasing resistance from its occupants, but the Rebel Alliance is still scattered and unable to mount a true offensive.
You've recently been contacted by Alliance High Command for a new mission as part of RENEGADE SQUADRON, a elite special forces unit tasked with dangerous operations. You may have already been a part of the team, just been promoted, or perhaps been hired because of your special skills for this operation. The reason doesn't matter.
I know what you're wondering: what kind of mission is it? Well, you're in luck, because I'll actually tell you (which, trust me, is a rarity when I'm the GM).
If the title didn't tip you off, it's pretty simple. You, RENEGADE SQUADRON, will have to figure out how to hijack a Star Destroyer and take it to a Rebel Alliance base.
I don't have a strict structure outlined for how the story will go, and I prefer to let my players direct the flow of it anyways--I just present the circumstance and change how the world reacts to your actions. One more disclaimer: this roleplay won't necessarily be limited by canon. What your characters do here may have consequences that change how canon events play out.
Sound fun? If so, post in the thread below and let me know what you think!

Character Restrictions:
Luckily for you, there aren't that many. First off, you are an individual working for the REBEL ALLIANCE. I'm going to give a lot of freedom when it comes to origins and backgrounds, but your character's present affiliations will have zero exceptions. That means you can be a pure rebel, a moisture farmer, a hired gun, a former Imperial, part of an outside organization, whatever...but you cannot be an Imperial in the present moment!
I have one more restriction. Your characters may NOT be Jedi, former Jedi, or trained to use the Force in any way. At the very start of the roleplay, you will not be, or seem to not be, Force-sensitive. However, I will be allowing you to mark that you'd like your character to learn to use the Force at some point in the future. I will be granting this opportunity to only one player who shows exceptional skill, creativity, maturity, and personality during the course of the roleplay.
