Not Afraid of God; Afraid of Man

Somewhere, in a long-abandoned house on the outskirt of town, a dark figure moved in the darkness with what seemed to be a collapsed body resting upon its shoulder. The figure had made quite a long trip spanning no less than three different dimensions to gather what he sought, yet it had no desire to do more than what it had been ordered to do. The worthless cargo in its grasp was in fact still living: It was a but a scrap of a girl that nobody really wanted. Approaching its destination, the shadow grasped a thin white ankle and callously threw the unconscious girl on the faded blue covers of the single bed. As she landed on the old mattress in a heap of spindly limbs and too-long hair, a thick cloud of dust rose up as the rusted bedframe screamed in agony. The figure stood there for a moment, glowing eyes staring dispassionately at the pitiful scene made by the collapsed child as their owner scoffed quietly to himself. His tattoed face had not so much as twitched at his treatment of the child and his red eyes were placid and cold as the disguised demon made his way out of the pitch-black room.
Not bothering to close the door behind him since it was already half off its hinges anyways, the ancient demon now only known as Abraham made his way quietly down the corridor and down the stairs leading to the ground floor of what once may have been a cozy farmhouse but now was home to only rats and other pest. Not bothering to care if the girl in his care would be safe or not, the fiend made his way out of the house and, after taking a moment to look up at the full moon shining down on the dilapidated property now behind him, the brunet faded into the shadow of a long-dead tree: disappearing from sight and from the very air as the wind blew against the neglected house and made it creak ominously.
His Lord had asked to keep the half-breed alive and relatively secure; Abraham would follow these orders but had no intention of passing more time nor effort than necessary on a useless infant. There was better ways to occupy his time than wait upon a dull sack of flesh and bones, after all, and right now Abraham needed supplies to keep the girl fed and keep her weak body from freezing in the fast-approaching winter.
