Aquilla bit down a curse at the student’s reaction. A Faunus. Heightened senses would make things difficult, any use of the Dragon’s Powers would be a problem. “Your taste in companions is concerning.” The Dragon grumbled. “Still, she seems…competent enough.

The crashing of another student falling from the bushes startled Aquilla from her conversation with the Grimm. Her eyebrows arched as he flailed, before planting into the dirt. At the Faunus student’s urging, he jumped back up, face turning red as he took in the two of them. Oh, this ought to be fun. A growl of agreement sounded in the back of her head.

“The Headmaster claimed the temple was in the north, yes.” Aquilla agreed, offering a nod of her own in the general direction. “We should haven’t too many problems in the interim, with three of us.” She hefted her rifle, taking a few seconds to size up her new companions. The Faunus girl was dangerous if the reaction to Aquilla was any indication. Although there was a risk involved, Aquilla decided, but she’d wasn’t going to be picky. The Blonde, she wasn’t sure, help was help, and disregarding someone based on appearance was not wise.

Something snapped in the trees, and a roar followed shortly after. “It seems,” Aquilla shifted her weapon to her shoulder, “that we have friends.” She thumbed the weapon’s safety off, as several Ursa smashed through the underbrush.

Azura nodded at the two once they responded that, indeed, it was in the right direction. She didn't seem to get the flattering compliment Colt told her as she thought that it was merely a nod to her Faunus heritage. The mere fact that they didn't begin teasing her made her feel at ease around them. At least they weren't part of the group of humans who liked to bully the Faunus. "Alright then, we should get moving. I don't want to spend more time here than needed." The young Faunus pointed out, her ears drooping ever so slightly at the thought of spending a whole day in the Emerald Forest because of her own incompetence.

She then nodded once more at the woman she had just met. This was true. They had more of a chance on surviving than individually. Azura hadn't seen them in combat but she was confident that they knew how to fight well if they got into Beacon. "My name's Azura Nebula, by the way." She offered her name to them expecting them to do the same. It was so that she at least knew her companions on a more personal level and not just these people she met.

Then she heard snapping coming from the trees not far from them. Her ears twitched as she turned to that direction. Instead of like the blonde male's entrance, where he was cutting down the branches, these were snapping. Something heavy was there. That was when she heard the roar and she fixed the hold on her katana. Four Ursa Grimm burst through the foliage. Her face was now mixed with concentration and seriousness. There ere four of the Grimm and only three of them, but that was no matter - they could take them out. Azura was confident about that.

She held her hand out and a ball of fire began forming in front of it. It shot forward and then exploded at one of the Ursa. As the fireball traveled towards the Ursa, Azura was close behind with both hands on the sheathed katana. Her footsteps were light and barely heard by anything else. An air of calmness had enveloped her, unlike her rather nervous aura when she was talking with the others. As the fireball exploded and the Ursa recoiled, she slashed its legs with her katana that was infused with ice dust, causing it to freeze up. It gave it a moment of confusion.

Azura looked at the male and female for a moment, silently asking them to finish it off. She ducked under a swipe of one Ursa and rolled over to the other side. They now surrounded the four Ursa and this distracted the others on which they would pick out first. Azura sheathed her katana again as she climbed onto one of the trees just in time to avoid another swipe made by the Grimm. Her companions' next actions would dictate what she would do next.

"Colt....Colt Bluenberg. Nice to meet you Azura." Clot would say to the Faunus, still finding her attractive though. If this is already a thing, I'm calling it 'Deep Blue', let's develop on that one how about that? I'm serious here, I really wanted this to happen. This is not RWBY without the ships, you get what I mean? Okay. As all seems to be okay at first, all of a sudden four Ursas have suddenly appeared, ready to wreck the threesome's asses (No sexual joke intended).

"Oh shit!" Colt was caught by surprise. He didn't knew that this test is a one way trip to Hell. He begin think to himself "What could the Symbol of Justice do in this situation?" And before he could do something, one of the Ursas have attempted to pounce onto Colt. With his weapon in its gun setting, his instincts began to act up as he quickly aims it at the Ursa a fired a flaming Dust bullet at the Grimm, setting it wildly on fire. His hand is shaking afterwards.

Honey kept walking but made sure to be careful to avoid the passing Grimm. She was still pissed at the other male even though he did come save them. Well "technically" since he brought more Grimm around them and caused the other faunus to practically get sent flying. The pink haired female until she stumbled upon the male faunus she had been searching for. She noticed his beenie had been taken off of him, revealing cat ears on his head.

"Well a person is indeed has come to hold up the Grimm. Though he's a bit of a prick if you ask me, he needs to be kicked down a few pegs." The female noted, slight bitter tone in her voice. Watching the tree behind him beginning to frost over with ice, Honey started to feel strangely cold. Even the air started to drop in temperature, she began to see her breathe come out as smoke. She was no longer as angry as she had been earlier, letting out a deep sigh of relief.

The pink haired girl shivered a bit, crossing her arms together while trying to act a bit cool. She figured it was his semblance, seeing as this cold atmosphere was coming from his central direction. Does he have trouble controlling his semblance like I do? Honey didn't want to be a bother so she kept her thoughts to herself. Reminding herself of her semblance, the female tried to calm herself down more.

Ahhh I must've been really stupid today. Almost blew it. She scolded herself, click her teeth together. "Besides you know that we have yet to introduce ourselves to each other....since I guess we're partners now or something? I guess I can go first....I'm Honey." She gave him a blank stare. The sounds of fighting continued in the distance, Honey was tempted to go back there to check on the poor bastard. She wasn't heartless after all.

She sighed shaking her head, removing her glasses for the time being. Her glasses had been fogging up due to the cold air around the duo. The young female faunus turned back to her partner, well at least for the duration of this test. In her hands were her glasses, she was currently cleaning them off with her skirt. "Should we go look for your hat? Well if you're up to it....that is." Honey popped her glasses back on her face.

Scarlet wandered through the forest, holding her arm as she felt her Aura repair her arm. She shivered slightly from the sharp pain that ran through her arm, it wouldn't be long until the pain subsided completely. Scarlet released her arm before walking through the green forest. It was peaceful here, wonderful almost. The dark-skinned female ducked under branches, looking around for any Grimm. She had to make sure to keep a lookout for someone, anyone to pair up with. That was what she had to do.

Scarlet looked around but found no one. But she did sense others. Others like her. Wendy huffed before speaking up, "I know you sense them, but they aren't anywhere near you. But keep a lookout, I sense others like us that weren't here before." She started with a firm tone. Scarlet looked around, not really seeing anyone around so she spoke out loud, "H-How many i-is it?" "That I don't know, they are scattered. Just be cautious." Wendy stated matter-of-factly. Scarlet nodded once before hearing something coming near her. She turned her head too late before running, quite literally, into someone.

She crashed into the ground, groaning softly as she rubbed her head. The headdress falling off her head, revealing the hair stick with the Devourer mask on it as well as the antlers of a deer. Wendy just stared towards the clumsy female, mentally facepalming to the action. "I tell you to be careful and you bump into someone, I wonder what would have happened if I told you to bump into someone, would you actually avoid them?" Wendy teased a sigh ran through her head. Scarlet slowly rose her head and looked up towards the person she had bumped into.

It was a young male dressed very brightly. Scarlet squinted her shimmering red hues, amazed how her eyes didn't melt out her skull seeing the young man. "V-Very sorry, I-I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Are you ok?" She asked curiously, sitting up as she started standing up. She was still a bit sore from the landing Wendy did but not too much.

(Also I was cleared to do this so... yeah.)

Catalina had been wandering alone when she could feel something, and not a good thing. Fear, Concern, Sadness. Death hung in the air, and she was unconsciously feeding off all of it. She stopped when she saw two bodies, a scythe and rapier nearby. "No..." She mumbled, glancing at the two corpses. This cannot have been a normal Grimm attack, no way. "No..." She said again, although for a different reason. He couldn't be here. The whole reason she came here was to avoid him. There was no way... but it was also entirely possible. "Catalina. Calm down. If he is here, we will find him, and if at all possible, kill him for what he did." Bud said. Catalina nodded and rose; she hadn't even realized she was on her knees. She began walking in the way she felt would lead her to the others. She found two more bodies, than two more still, and she tried hard to ignore them. Six dead is a big toll, but these were... unnatural circumstances. She crouched near a bush and easy enough found Julian and his troop of 'children.' She also, almost immediately spotted Kendra. They were ok enough friends all those years back. But she was either weak, or had wanted this to happen. Either way it set them on their different paths.

She was silently debating whether or not to outright say something to them when her sword sheath tapped a tree and made a large smack sound. She winced and quickly went to the ground to hide. She then realized that they would be able to sense her, but hopefully it would be overlooked.

Aquilla was into action at the same time Azura was. Rifle coming up, she fired a quick burst at the Ursa closest to her, aiming to hit the creature square in the chest while it reared up. However, just as she fired, the beast dropped, the bullets only clipping its shoulder instead. For a moment, Aquilla seriously regretted not loading some kind of Dust round, before dismissing the thought and emptying the last six rounds from her rifle into the Grimm. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Azura doing something to the other Grimm with Dust.

Thumbing the magazine release, Aquilla charged the Ursa, her weapon splitting in two as she ran. Seeming to believe her an easy target, the Grimm roared barreling to meet her. “Destroy these weaklings!” In the back of her head, the Dragon roared, blood pumping for a fight. Aquilla didn’t answer, activating her Semblance, letting her Aura flood out, coating the length of her sword, although she ignored the tonfa for the moment.

The Ursa brought a paw upwards to deliver a heavy blow. Aquilla smirked, planting one foot, and dodging to the right, away from her new companions. As the Grimm struck downwards, Aquilla skidded to a halt, twisting her body around to deliver a crosswise slash to the Grimm, releasing her Semblance in a blast of concussive force directly across the midline of the Grimm’s body. Said force hurled the Grimm across the clearing, smashing it into a Grimm that Azura had previously frozen in place, all but crushing it, and to Aquilla’s amusement killing the monster. Using Grimm as projectile weapons. Worth considering in the future.

One of the Grimm turned to face her, snarling in confusion, as the one she'd just tossed like a ragdoll tried to regain its feet. Colt seemed to have one of the Grimm well in hand, Aquilla’s lips twitching at the burning creature. “Alright you ugly bastards,” Aquilla growled, a trick she’d picked up from the Dragon, and she settled her weapons into position, “Who's next?”

Aryl watched Eisen ram into the Beowulf, which gave him the opprotunity to roll back and redraw his bow, only to find Eisen finishing up his work. "Nice handiwork." He said, half meant as a pun. He watched Eisen run off and quickly followed after, his bow ready incase of another attack. They cleard the trees and headed to the ruins. Aryl set his bow down, grabbed 2 knight pieces, and tossed one to Eisen. "Keep that safe, one of the most useful chess pieces known to man." He said, cracking a grin as he pocketed the 'relic' and grabbed his bow back up.

Eisen absentmindedly slapped the chess piece away accidentally, a bit tired now that adrenaline had left him. He concentrated on it and flipped it to his hand with a twist of his thoughts, the weight and distance of the piece bothering him almost imperceptibly. Now that he had control of the aim, it was quite the simple catch.

It was quickly slipped into his pocket before he disabled his prosthetic and grabbed the metal case strapped to his back. He entered the lock code, and flipped it open to reveal shiny new components. However, before digging into the repair, he took a moment to just sit against the wall and breath. He just had to show off for this random he just barely met. That was a learning experience his teacher tried to beat into him years ago. He punched himself in the jaw none too gently, the joint crackling as he moved his suddenly stiff face back into to proper symmetry.

Never again. Practical approach this time.

Hopefully, this lesson would lessen the RPMs his master was performing in his grave. Over the next few minutes, he spent time disassembling and reassembling a few damaged components before slapping the armor plates back on. He took a few heavy breaths to brace himself before turning his arm back on, jerking violently as the electronic control units and power amplifiers reconnected with his nervous system.

I could've been a chef. I could fry eggs on my arm as a party trick. And I'd never have to do this bullshit.

But he would've been so bored and miserable for the rest of his life, and he knew it.

Eisen rose to his feet with a grunt, his body responding much better now that several nerve endings in his torso and neck were no longer dead ends. His aura was still about halfway gone. He was bleeding from the center of his torso, and the deep scrape/bruise on his side was still tender. And he still had a headache, though the severity had dropped. Eisen took a moment to wrap some bandaging he had in his case around his body before trying to move.

Minimal movement.

Eisen walked into the main antechamber, in no hurry to run while his body was still readjusting. Plus, something was odd. Surely they couldn't have been the first ones here. They got delayed once. He got delayed before he ever met... this guy. Also, they had walked all this way. Someone had to have run here. Someone probably has super speed or crazy jumping capability. Aryl was special, and Eisen was special and well built, but they didn't have speed enchancements. He was rather sure it wasn't his luck, if it was at all..

"Hey guy. Hold up. Something's not right. We took our sweet ass time to get here. Were we the first to get our 'relics'?"

Trained instinct was telling him something was off. If it was cosmic coincidence that slow and steady won this race, so be it. He never got this fortunate. Maybe it was time for some good karma.? Doubtful. Eisen knew he was a dick. There was no good juju owed to him.

If fella cared about his own life he should've tossed Eisen a different piece from his own. Eisen assumed these were to pick teams, there were four of each piece, and there four people to a team. So he'd have two unknowns as his teammates.

"Clever, Ozpin. Instead of throwing us in with three randoms, you give us a chance to work with one of them first. Not bad."

He stepped back outside the ruin, but made no move to leave.

"I'm going to take a few more minutes to recover from the rebooting process. It's a hell of a experience. Let's see if anyone else shows up. Can't race without opponents."

While I'm not opposed to shipping of any kind, considering it does happen, I'd like to see where the ball rolls. Azura is the kind of person who doesn't easily find herself falling for anyone, hence her sexuality. Let's see where this goes first before stating it as something solid.
horizontal-rule-2.png
Azura nodded at Aquilla's direction when she had managed to dispatch two of the Ursa at once by using the one she was fighting as some sort of projectile to defeat the one she had frozen in place for a moment. The blue haired faunus kept her hold on the branch as she watched them do their own things. It was quite amazing, to be honest. Aquilla's semblance wasn't anything Azura has seen before. Perhaps she would figure it out more after the initiation. She wanted to know the dynamics behind it and see if it would fit a certain strategy. While most were the kind to simply hit anything, Azura wanted to at least have some semblance of thinking rather than acting just out of pure instinct.

Her eyes then turned towards Colt. She heard his gun blast its bullet towards the Ursa, enveloping it in temporary flames thanks to the dust infused in it. However, she could see that he was shaking ever so slightly. Azura felt worried for the guy. He didn't seem as calm as her, or as energetic as Aquilla who taunted the Grimm into fighting her. She guessed it might have been nervousness of something like this. However, Azura simply settled to find out more about it later. She had more things to worry about.

She took hold of her katana once more as the flaming Ursa stumbled around her general vicinity. Her eyes shone with relief as it would seem that it would be an easy kill. Leaping off of the branch, she unsheathed her katana and infused it with Earth dust - making it more durable and heavier. She then sliced through the Grimm who then disappeared into a mass of ashes. Such a shame they couldn't study Grimm. It might lead them to knowing more about the mysterious creatures who feed off of negative emotions.

"One to go." Azura said, now looking at the single Ursa who was left. It seemed confused on which one it would attack. "So, who's gonna go first?" She asked the others, pertaining to who would want to take the first strike. It might mean the end of the fight, or the start of a combo. They still needed to get to the relics too, so she wanted this to be over quickly.

Colt almost pooped himself from the sheer dangers that has been happening. He takes a couple of breaths, but even those aren't enough to get his composure. If he wants to be a Hunter, then he must act like one. Looking at the last remaining Ursa and hearing Azura ask who to take the first strike, Colt stepped in and said "I'll do it!" He aimed his weapon at the Ursa and fires a different Dust-infused bullet at it. It was a Lightning Dust bullet, and upon hit, the effects takes place where the bullet releases an electrical shock that stuns the Grimm.

With the Ursa stunned, Colt sets his weapon from its gun mode to sword mode. This is where he showcases his Semblance as he activates and spreads it to his weapon, characterized by the red vein-like glows around it. "Let's do this together." He says before he charges at the stunned Ursa and strikes it down with a slash so powerful that it generated a small quake when the blade touches the Ursa's body. The force of impact was so strong enough to rupture the Grimm's insides. What about the two girls?

After confirming with the female faunus who ended up introducing herself as 'Honey', the dark haired male Faunus only nodded his head once about how there had seemed to had indeed been another student who was facing off against the Grimm even if her comment about him being what she considered a 'prick' was a little uncalled for to Sakamoto's own tastes. While standing there and meeting the female student; with each clash the other student was going against the Grimm, Sakamoto's own ears twitched every time till he had finally decided to begin making his way in the direction he had been slammed by the Ursa from earlier. Listening to the female's question about searching for his beanie that had been his only disguise for the time being towards other humans, the dark haired male only halted his movements just to turn his head over his shoulder once more to speak towards her. "We're here to become Hunters and Huntresses to help protect the world from Grimm. Looking for something like a beanie isn't that important to me aside from helping someone Honey. If he is like other humans and dislikes our kind...so be it...It's kind of normal now honestly.." With the last few words that the male Faunus spoke, his tone of voice slowly turned low and showed a tad bit of sorrow in them before he continued forward with his scythe resting on his injured shoulders.

On his way towards the ongoing back between the Grimm and the other student who came to assist, the closer he grew towards the battle the more the sounds grew louder as well as Sakamoto's semblance growing stronger as well. The ground and trees that were once only slightly frosted over had started to become completely frozen as large gauntlets formed out of complete ice soon even began to envelope over both of his arms at once.
Finally, as Sakamoto had reached the original spot where the fighting had commenced; the sight of what appeared to be another male student facing off against a larger growing group of Beowolf Grimm started to swarm the area only made the Faunus sigh heavily. 'Hah! He's reckless!...I like him!' Those being the only thing that actually left the Dragon Grimm's maw before Sakamoto had finally decided to rush into battle just to take a single one of the Beowolf's head by the blade of the scythe just to slam it downwards to the ground with an instant decapitation of it's head. Just as he had done so, with the howl that echoed throughout the forest to call for more Grimm coming to Sakamoto's attention; his attention was quickly brought over towards the human male student with a slight hiss in his own tone of voice. "This is no place or time to just keep fighting! We need to get to the ruins already; the other students must already be there! This is just an initiation into the academy, not a battle royale!" Stating this fact as the sounds of padding from the incoming waves of Beowolf Grimm stomped the ground to reach the area, his ears only twitched wildly with each step.

Tightening his grip onto his scroll as the silver haired headmaster watched as to how the initiation had continued on, normally things would run smoothly with each year since the Grimm that roamed the entire forest shouldn't had been anything too difficult for the students to be able to handle without teamwork. Even if anything were to become overly dire in any kind of situation, it wasn't like Ozpin was being serious when he stated that they were going to actually die; if anyone needed the help, he was going to send the staff to be able to assist them immediately. Though even without Glynda needing to speak up, Ozpin had seem the corpses of several students all over the forest and they weren't normal wounds that any kind of Grimm would do to anyone ordinary person. Without so much as a response to the vice principle let alone turning his attention to any of the teachers, he had immediately spoken up in a rather hurried yet completely serious tone. "All of you! "Atlas tech my ass. I designed this myself, after teaching myself the basics of some different kinds of engineering. I did have some Atlas help in wiring to my brain and actually attaching it to my nerves and muscles, but that was due to my teacher's influence, not money. If it was up to my finances, I'd have one arm.

But anyway, I broke it because I knew my arm's limits and ignored them to show off, because I'm an idiot. This will not be the norm of working with me. You won't get five minutes of fighter followed by ten minutes of roadside mechanic."

Eisen sighed. "I never use my semblance like that. It was kind of fun. Pretty stupid, but kind of fun. I need to get better at tossing myself around."

He stood up, giving a few practice punches with his freshly fixed prosthetic. Smooth function, and most of the headache and spasms he had were gone. Still kinda tuckered though. Perfect enough. "Alright, Something's weird. Let's go be good little huntsmen. That's what this team building bullshit is all about." He walked to the edge of the woods, back south.

After a few moments, he came right back out. "There was a freshly dead student in there. With weird wounds."

His metal fingers pinched the bridge of his nose in exasperation, but within a few moments he was back at attention.

"So, before we go anywhere, we need a plan. Do we go for other students, or do we go for whatever killed him? Either way is south, because we also need to leave, as a normal part of initiation. However, I've seen some shit. And that shit," He pointed at the rough location of the student's corpse, "Isn't like any shit I've seen before.

So, do we flee, and maybe take a few pieces to give out, so less students have to stay here... Or do we ferry students here?

Or..." A wicked gleam twinkled in his eyes as he began this plan B, with a grin growing to match with every word, "Do we go find whatever caused that guy's death, and find a challenge that, potentially, neither of us have ever seen before. To chase the high of standing against something that the world may have never seen before? I can tell you which one I'm doing, at least. Up to you to come with or fuck off."

The grin melted off his face slightly, but the twinkle in his eye did not.

"I'm going to go do the one thing that I'm good for. Hitting things until they die. You coming with?"

Eisen disappeared into the woods whether Aryl followed or not, holding his arms out wide and shouting into the woods with his deep, slightly raspy voice, "To whatever is killing off my competition. That is my job. Come out and play with the unafraid. I hear we taste better. Strong blood and whatnot."

Honestly, Eisen had no clue if this was going to lure anything out, let alone something new and unique. But he was bored enough to try. He'd save students if he came across any, but right now he just wanted to fight whatever was murdering students, if it was still around.

Should be. The poor sap back by the ruins was quite fresh.

Aquilla had a hard time suppressing her smirk when Azura finished off the burning Grimm. With just one Ursa left twitching, the fight was for all intents and purposes over. Three of them against one Grimm. Colt might have been shaking in his boots, but that didn’t matter. That Grimm’s days were numbered, although she knew better than discount the threat presented.

Giving Azura a sharp nod of approval, Aquilla spared a few seconds of thought for how to handle the remaining Ursa. There was no reason to use her Semblance, blasting a single Ursa into chunks would be impressive, but impractical. Shooting the thing was probably a waste of bullets, although was the least effort required. Aquilla had technically gotten two kills, she wasn't going to get greedy about it. “Taste their fear, girl.” Gravely with delight, Aquilla steeled herself for the Dragon to try and take control, but apparently, it was content to laugh. “Let them understand that you have transcended them!” As was habit, Aquilla ignored the Dragon’s growls, although she knew what it meant. Colt all but radiated fear as Azura asked who would take the first blow.

Must be his first time fighting Grimm. Or at least in life-threatening situations. Pushing that aside, Aquilla schooled her features. Low-grade worry and fear permeated the forest, there was no need for her to be distracted by one person. Much less a fellow student. Now, be quiet you damned lizard, and let me finish killing things. A blast of amusement was all she got in response. Fair enough. She combined her weapons into a rifle once again, reloading. As Colt brought his weapon down, cutting deeply into the Grimm, Aquilla took no small amount of enjoyment from shooting the Grimm in the face.

Giving the chaos a few seconds to settle, so Azura and Colt could finish off the Grimm as they wished, Aquilla lowered her weapon. “You two are pretty good. I’m Aquilla Glacius.” Aquilla had to admit that introducing herself after getting into a fight was a bit ridiculous, but giving her name had been interrupted by the arrival of the Grimm.

Colt's show of power was surprising, but not unwelcome. It had been obvious that he wouldn't need her help when it came to defeating the last Ursa standing. This was an important part for Azura. It gave her an overview of what Colt can do - it also helped her get the overview of what Aquilla could do. It was overall a great thing. Was that the whole point of the initiation? For them to be well acquainted with each other instead of simply being thrown into a group? That was a good idea. Actually, that was a great idea from a strategic standpoint. She wondered if they would be her groupmates for the four years.

She hummed to herself quite happily. That would be fun. Colt seemed like a nice guy and Aquilla was a little rough around the edges but she can see them getting along fine. With all the Ursa defeated, Azura swiped her sword sidewards as if to expel any unwanted matter from her sword and then sheathed it back. Honestly, it was out of habit. That act was part of Iaido routines, where the user would clean the blade off by making a fast movement so that the blood would be removed - instead of simply wiping it down. It would be rather inconvenient to suddenly stop just to clean a katana after all.

"You weren't too bad yourself Aquilla. You too Colt, so that was the semblance you were hiding huh?" She praised them, clapping her hands together once - the calm and cold exterior from when she was fighting melted away quickly. Azura's semblance hadn't been as flashy as theirs but she didn't seem to mind. "We should go. We still need to find those relics." She continued before turning and then moving, expecting the other two to follow. She still felt completely obligated to lead them to the right direction, for some odd reason or another. The leopard Faunus, despite her demure size, felt responsible for the both of them. They may even be older than her for all she knows, but she still felt the need to do so.

As she walked, her nose suddenly twitched with a rather familiar scent. "Blood?" She said out loud, enough for the other two to hear. Her head snapped quickly from side to side as she tried to locate where it came from. Her nose honed in one the area and then suddenly made a move for it. Someone might need their help! After all, she could smell a very strong tinge of iron. That meant that was a lot of blood. Someone was bleeding to death - or was already there.

Stumbling into a gruesome scene of two girls laying down with their weapons scattered was the last thing she expected to see in the initiation. Heck, she wasn't expecting anyone to lose this amount of blood. The two girls - one dressed in black and red with a torn cape and another who was wearing a white dress tainted with crimson - lay down, motionless. Instead of feeling bile rise up or memories of the past flash up to her brain, there was nothing. She felt absolutely nothing. As if hoping for something else, she closed in one the bodies. She turned the girls right side up to see their faces - both had been beaten to death by something. She had never seen such injuries inflicted by the Grimm before. Tears started to prick the side of her eyes as she stood up. "Dead." She said dejectedly, as if expecting otherwise even with the evidence presented even before their arrival.

She shook her head and then placed their weapons on their side, assuming the rapier was to the white haired girl and the scythe to the girl with the torn cape. Azura then fixed their position so that they looked as peaceful as they could be. She had blood on her hands and small spots on her clothing, but she didn't seem to care. She closed her eyes for a second to pray for their souls before wiping off the tears that have gathered around her eyes. "Whatever attacked these two must still be here." She told them. "We have to be careful. I mean, surely, Professor Ozpin wasn't serious about there being death involved in these initiations." Azura looked at the two once more, eyes softening.

"We need to get out of here, and fast, so we can tell the teachers or something." She said as she walked towards them and then nodded. "Let's go?" She wasn't sure if they wanted to do anything else. If they did, she would respect their wishes. She'd rather not go alone anymore, not with this kind of danger lurking about. What little perks were present in being alone have now been completely dashed. It was better to move as a group, so they can watch each other's backs.

"Seems so."
Griselda said, switching Nebula Striker back to its crossbow form. Stopping to turn back to whatever was following them, which turned out to be a small pack of the blasted creatures, she flipped after jumping in the air and fired a bolt at the nearest grimm, a beowulf, before landing on the ground and turning back around to catch up with the older boy. "I'm Griselda." She said with a small smile, which quickly disappeared the further they ran. She was glad that she had found someone to partner up with, but there was an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach, one she hadn't noticed until now, something beyond just the fact that it was seeming to take forever to get to the temple, and that she might be unlucky enough to have landed so far away from it or simply possessed a bad sense of direction.

Dusk's rumbling laugh filled her head. "Oh so you just now noticed it, did you? How more of our kind have entered this forest and who probably aren't students. I would have thought your senses would improved by now, at least with me trapped in your thick skull." He sighed. "Such a pity."

Oh shut the hell up, Dusk. Griselda thought, very tired of his quips. Usually she wouldn't have responded to him so easily, but the Grimm could certainly rub her the wrong way after awhile.

With the pack of Grimm behind them, Griselda occasionally fired another bolt towards one of the creatures. With each step she took though, the uneasiness in her stomach began to blossom into something else entirely, a feeling which she hadn't experienced since going to that murdered huntsmen's funeral with Augustus one time. It was something beyond just sadness. It was a massive influx of negativity. She could feel it in her bones. Upon running in to a clearing, she came to a halt, crimson eyes widening.

There were two bodies on the ground, the grass beneath them caked in blood. They were both girls, one with yellow hair and the other a black haired faunus, their weapons scattered. But she didn't have time to think any further at that moment. The grimm were upon them.

Honey kept silent, listening to the other faunus's comments about being hunters and huntresses. He probably wanted to be a huntsmen to protect others, her goal was simply different. Their goals were different, therefore she could never see his viewpoint in his eyes verses her own. However, Honey could still see where he was coming from but it didn't sit right within herself. All her life she's been shunned and persuced for what she was and how she acted. Expect by Perseus.

The treatment was only made worse when her semblance awoken. The only thing in common, that she could see was they had was the feeling of helping others. The female was starting to get a bit too emotional thinking about her past, she needed to calm down and think rationally. "Yes I understand.....Humans are humans after all." Honey counted the minutes she had been around her new found aquintance, she only had a few more minutes before her semblance started to affect them.

By that time she would need to be away from them, there was no telling what her semblance could do to then. The pink haired faunus sighed, walking next to the other faunus while keeping her head down. She watched him run to support the other male and attack another grimm. She stayed put, not knowing her if she would be able to fight without messing things up. Inside of her, Honey could already feel her own semblance grow stronger the longer she stayed around them.

"I should go help them before my time limit is up....then head to the ruins while they are safe." Honey nodded to herself, her eyes returning back to the neutral tone of grey they once were. She aimed for the nearest Grimm next to the two, swiftly kicking it into another beowolf. She blocked another Grimm's attack by forming her bracelet into a shield like item. "Honestly, can we please leave now?" The young faunus yelled at the other two, using her bracelet as a rope and tying two beowolves together.

The female avoided using her hands, since she didn't know if her semblance could affect Grimm or not. Honey pulled and pulled on the rope until the two were sliced in half by the rope. Just by doing that, Honey saw a little crack on her weapon. The Grimm from earlier probably cracked her weapon, she would need some dust later to repair it after she passed her test.

A frown came to O'neals face as he heard that the two Faunuses wanted to leave. He groaned as he quickly switched his weapon back into a sword and cleaved a pouncing Grimm in two. He rotated his shoulders and retreated to their sides with an unhappy look. "Ah come on, we were just starting to have fun," he complained as he looked around them to see a few more Grimm emerging from the woods. His urge to dive back into the fight filled his heart, but he knew the male Faunus was right, they had to get to the relics. With a heavy sigh he looked to the two and gave a reluctant nod. "Fine, one of you lead the way and I'll cover the rear as we get out of hear," he said as he tightened his grip around his sword. O'neal has worked with Faunuses in the past and doesn't exactly hate them, he's just had a few bad experiences with them. He just hoped these two weren't another bad experience. He looked back to the Grimm as he readied for his new partners to make their retreat. "Ya'll lead the way, I'll be right behind you," he stated as he glared into each of the approaching Grimms eyes. He hated running from a fight, but he knew his objective to get to the relics was his main priority.

Eisen walked around, spiraling out from the ruins to be as thorough as possible. While not his first hunt, this was definitely the oddest. And the odds seemed higher than his norm. Even bandits didn't savage corpses like whatever this thing was did. Couldn't be Grimm. Eisen doubted Grimm would have left dinner uneaten like that.

"Hmm." Aryl had a smart idea. Screwing off while helping others do the same. But Eisen wouldn't be able to live with himself if he didn't try to fight. This was the way of the Grau bloodline. High class warriors all. If his master was to be believed, maidens had existed in his family, and even a silver eyed warrior.

Eisen was adopted, but to hell with that little fact. He would fight with his all until his final breath passed his grayish lips. That was who he was at his core. At this point, it was all he had. He might join the corpses, but he'd do so with a smile on his face and blood on his knuckles.

"Seriously asshole? Am I too tough looking for you? I get I'm intimidating looking but shit, I figured a hack butcher murderer wouldn't be afraid of a roided out teenager."

Eisen smirked. He was all natural. He was perfectly built for a martial artist.

He heard something clang against a tree, and burst through the shrubbery with his fists cocked, ready to pulverize the hding assassin.

Wait. Wait. Wait.

He stopped upon seeing the dark-haired girl crouched next to the tree, his body stopped, but he didn't lower his fists or get rid of the sadistic snarl across his face for a long moment, realizing that this was another student.

His arms returned to his side, and his face returned to neutral.

"Well. I thought you might be our local student-slayer, but your just a cute chick. Welp. I'm bailing before my battle boner goes away. Here."

He flipped her his spare chess piece. "My partner ran off and gave me that back. I guess we're partners now. Anyway. Im going to go find what's killing of students. Might be best if you go for safety now that you got your 'relic'. Maybe find a teacher and tell them what's happening. Dead students everywhere."

Eisen gave her a shrug and a half smile and kept walking, making as much noise as possible.

Aquilla accepted the compliment with a half-smile and a nod, taking her own second to make sure her weapon was in good order from the little fight. “Pay attention.” As Azura started leading the way again, Aquilla fell into step, sparing some thought to the sudden seriousness from the Dragon. “You can sense that; I assume?” Licking her lips, two things became readily apparent. Blood in the air. Plenty of blood. Someone had lost a fight, badly. And, behind the tangy taste was something else…a lurking pressure, like a half-forgotten touch. “Yes…”

What is…. She knew that feeling. Yet, the blood was distracting, and Azura was leading them straight towards it, making that strange feeling harder and harder to ignore. I don’t like this. The forest is becoming more and more dangerous by the second. Someone losing that much blood almost always suggested death. They hadn’t traveled all that far, so why hadn’t Aquilla felt the fear spike when death approached? Surely she would have, even absorbed in a fight as she had been.

Bloody and battered, the two girls hadn’t gone quickly considering the injuries they had sustained and only adding to Aquilla’s worries. Those, she knew, weren’t Grimm wounds. Grimm ripped and tore, slashed and bit, they didn’t beat or shatter. Except for Goliaths, but those would be easy to spot, and would have merely squashed the girls flat, not…this. Rage stirred in Aquilla’s chest as she worked through this new information. Someone had come into this forest for the express purpose of killing and had already claimed victims. “Pay your respects. Then have your vengeance.”

Without a word, she moved to assist Azura in giving the bodies what respect they could in a short time. Ordinarily, Aquilla would have suggested they carry the bodies back, so the families could have some closure. However, Azura wasn’t built to carry a body, and Aquilla was reasonably sure Colt wasn’t in the mental state to go carrying a corpse through the woods back to the Headmaster, and Aquilla herself wasn’t about to carry two bodies.

Shaking that thought off, she paused, wiping the blood from each girls’ face, and closing their eyes. “May your souls find rest.” No one deserved to die from… this. Once again the foreboding was over the former Faunus. And may whoever did this to you hope we never find them. A rumble of agreement followed, solidifying the cold anger building in her stomach.

Refocusing on her companions, Aquilla bobbed her head in agreement with Azura. “Even if Professor Ozpin was talking about Grimm…this wasn’t Grimm.” Not that she could tell these two who it was. They weren’t… She crushed that line of thinking. “I’d love to say I can take a hit from whoever this was, and keep going but…” Fighting another Aura Grimm was risky business. If she got lucky, and a good hit in early, maybe. Otherwise, Aquilla wasn’t confident. “We need to leave.” Even as she spoke, she reloaded her weapon with Ice Dust rounds; anything to slow down an enemy. “I’ll watch your backs.” There was no way she was going to leave someone alone in the forest with another Aura Grimm lurking.

Colt's face would be noticeably be flushed red when Azura made that remark. "Well actually, I got this fro-" He quickly cut himself off when he realized that he'll be telling the truth about his semblance, and so it is best for him to not say anything about it. "Never mind, its just what it is." He says before continuing on with the girls, but the problem for him is that he cannot let his eyes take off at the beautiful sight of Azura. By then, he begins to smell the stench of blood coming from somewhere, and before he knew it, he sees two dead bodies of female students.

Colt almost vomited at the gruesome sight, but he quickly 'swallows it'. Looking down at the bodies, he gets his thumb knuckle up and does the sign of the cross. It is actually a means to pay respects as taught by Karma. He was thinking of giving them a proper burial, but that will have to be left over to the authorities. "Someone told me that...'hunters never die'." Colt says "They may be dead physically, but their souls will continue to live on. That's one of the essence of being a hunter." If ever one of the girls would ask who told him about what he said, he'll say that it is a friend of his, and not Karma.

"Yeah, we should get out of here. I'm getting the bad feeling that we'll be next." Colt says.

"A Grimm wouldn't act like this, yeah." Azura agreed with Aquilla's statement, looking back one more to the two dead girls. After warning the teachers, surely someone would come by to pick her up. She hoped for a lot of things - one of them being that hopefully the family would be able to grieve properly for their dead. The blue haired female looked at the girl in the white dress, eyes widening in realization. "So no one is safe huh?" She hadn't noticed it before since she her mind went to overdrive thinking about such a predicament. But to think that the second youngest of the Schnee family - Weiss - would be found like this.

She bore no ill will towards the young Schnee. The sins of her family is not hers to bear - not yet at least. Azura simply hoped that she would find peace like any other being that found themselves at the mercy of death. She turned to Colt when he said something. "Hunters never truly die huh? A good thought." She said with a nod. Whoever gave off the statement must have known how it felt to lose someone close to them - someone who was also a huntsman or a huntress.

"I'll take point then." Azura replied before turning heel and then continuing to move forward. Her grip on her katana tightened. She didn't tell them about it, thinking that she might be wrong. But considering what Aquilla said about those 'not being Grimm', then she might be right. The mere fact that she couldn't smell a trace of Grimm there was disturbing. Instead, another scent lingered - something familiar. She couldn't put her finger on it, but perhaps she'll find out sooner or later.

The forest had been deathly silent for a while, aside from their breathing and their feet crunching the grass covered ground below. It put Azura in a state of great unease. There was something wrong about this. Once they get to the temple, she hoped that they would meet up with other students. Maybe that way, they would be able to fight back whatever caused these to happen. They may be in a group of three, all pre-trained before they came here - but she was sure that those two were as well, and yet there they are. These enemies were much more powerful than normal.

"To be honest, I'll take Grimm over this." She muttered, unsure if the others would hear her. She would take on an Ursa Major even if it meant she would have to relive one of the most traumatizing moments of her life. This was just horrible. Azura thought of sending out a fireball into the sky and hope that a teacher would spot it - but that also meant whoever was around would see it as well. The risks were too high, so she decided that it would be for the best that they just continue their trek towards the temple. They could probably plan out their actions from there.

To say that Knox was surprised when Ozpin had decided to comment about it was an understatement. While had had known Ozpin for three years now because of his job, it didn't mean that he interacts with him more than needed. When there was a job to do, Knox was who you called in for, but those were rare and, more often than not, very boring missions. He simply shrugged at the silver haired male, as if telling him that it was just a joke. Besides, it was still nice seeing who finished first. It usually meant that they were reckless, completed any one goal in their mind, or really smart. He was hoping that most of them were smart - strategic. It would make his job a whole lot more easier.

Since he had been talking with the teachers, he wasn't paying attention to the cameras. Besides, Glynda and Ozpin were the ones who usually just looked at them. However, Glynda's reaction was what caused him to stiffen and then quickly take out his scroll to see what she was talking about. Without a doubt, something had been there. Dead and mangled bodies were appearing left and right - those of their students. His eyes narrowed as he looked at the wounds inflicted.

"Do you think?"

"Oh most definitely." The Resura purred, its feelings suddenly enveloping him. The feelings of amusement and pleasure, but also anger and frustration. Once more, they have come. While Knox and Rex had been completely at ease with the students also being Aura Grimm, the fact that this was happening right now meant that they were here as well. How they gained access to the Emerald Forest was beyond him, but there was no way they were getting him, or any one of the Aura Grimm students, today. "Can you feel them Knox? I didn't really put any thought to it since some of your students were the same, but there's a whole lot now."

Knox silently cursed. Had he been paying more attention, he might have warned Ozpin about it and then avert the crisis. Or at least, some of the deaths. He clicked his tongue in mild annoyance and then Ozpin issued the order to get down there and check what was happening. The black haired male nodded and then walked towards him. However, he slowed down and then whispered, "I think it has something to do about our... well, condition." He knew that Ozpin knew about them. After all, he was the headmaster - it was bound to come up at some point.

"Good luck guys." He said rather dismissively before dropping into the Emerald Forest. He hoisted his sniper rifle on his shoulders as he began to hurriedly walk through while checking his scroll for anyone around. Thanks to Rex being present in his mind, he would be able to track down any Aura Grimm who was unwelcome here. And he would make sure to give them a very warm greeting. The anger pulsating in his body was unnatural - perhaps enhanced by Rex who felt pity for the students.

"We'll tear them apart." Knox growled, voice mixing with the Resura that resides within him. "And show them why I haven't been caught yet."

Once both the other two students had come to an agreement to what Sakamoto had decided to do, the sounds of growling and roaring of multiple other Grimm starting to close in on the surrounding area had the male Faunus curse under his breath as he immediately turned his own gaze towards the direction that Honey stated earlier that she had seen the Ruins when she was descending. Taking what the human stated about someone leading and him covering their rear, it took little time to have Sakamoto immediately rush in the direction that he had seen the least amount of Grimm forming around. The thought of him working along side a human only brought back memories of his past of when he once worked for the Faunus group known as the 'White Fang'. It was obvious that if the group knew about how Sakamoto was now, he'd be hated and considered a traitor among his own kind; although with how the 'White Fang' has operated after a while, it appeared as though their ways were changing into much more violent types compared to what the original goal was.

Whatever the case was with the 'White Fang', this was no time for Sakamoto to be thinking back upon the past as he shook his head to focus on his current objective to escape the area and reach the ruins with the other two students. Just as he had taken several running steps towards the direction that had much less Grimm, the sudden yet immense energy of an unknown force had quickly enveloped Sakamoto's mental state nearly causing him to lose his balance and collapse. Though, able to quickly adjust to the difference in his mental state he continued his pace forward while attempt to figure out what that feeling just was. 'Ahh...Looks like he's here along with the others. Hah...you better hurry, before they find you too...No one is safe...' With the Dragon's comment, Sakamoto once more cursed at the idea of what was going to happen and what was happening. 'What?...he? Who?...What're you talking about..?' Questioning everything that the Grimm stated only to have no reply other than it's dark booming snickering from within.

While he had continued to rush forward, the sight of something small and black on the ground soon came into view. It was his beanie, even if it meant to stop for a second or two; the male Faunus took the time to pick up his beanie just to comfortably fit it over his head to cover up the Grimm hairpin along with his cat ears. Once his disguise was returned to make him look like a human once again, Sakamoto quickly continued his rush forward; each step he took froze the ground beneath his shoe rapidly while the trees that froze over just from his own semblance of him passing by them quickly unfroze once he had left the certain distance of how close he needed to be for his semblance to actually take a full affect upon them. Several of the Grimm that attempted to strike at the Faunus student also froze over just as they swung their claws down at him. 'Yes...run...keep running. Don't ever look back...' Once again, the Grimm spoke with his snickering only releasing slight bit of it's own energy till Sakamoto's once crystal blue eyes shifted into a deep crimson to help him quicken his pace even more so.

Honey kicked the Grimm, that she had been blocking with her shield away. "Honestly, this is not fun. I do not want to stand here all day fighting unlike some people." She retorted to the human male sourly. She wasn't a big fan of fighting and actually prefered to take the peaceful route if there ever was an option for that. Still though, the female listened to the human male and started to run towards the direction of the ruins.

Being of the bunny type faunus allowed her to be pretty nimble than most on the battlefield. However, even Honey had trouble sometimes with running herself. The young faunus made sure to watch her own steps, not to trip over the rocks as she ran through the Grimm. She made sure to keep pace with the other faunus boy, who was indeed pretty fast on his leg. The female did admit to that at least, she didn't admit many things.

Dodging the attack of another beowolf, she kicked the grimm into the others of the faunus direction. She briefly watched the start to freeze over, however making sure that she stayed in pace with the others. Of course, the female was worried that they weren't going to make it to the other side of this clearing with all these Grimm around. However it seemed that they were making a decent amount of progress despite the ridiculous amounts of Grimm in the area.

"So the temple should be in this direction. Everyone, stay close to each other. There maybe something that may want to attack us." Honey made sure to speak as loud as she could while pointing in the southern direction
