Chimera_painting.jpg

Name: Self-decided "Katanalotís" in a bout of vanity of being the true "apex predator." Calling them "Katan" for short will be seen as an act of aggression.

Age: Uncertain. Template of chimera has existed for centuries, but current incarnation with three heads is only three decades or so old.

Race: Originally a Legendary Creature - Chimera Spellshaper at birth.

Home plane: Theros, in the regions near the rivers that surround the world.

Mana Color: Katanalotis can choose to express any color that their heads embody. In this current form, they associate with the natural Red of the lion, the Black of the serpent, and the Green of the ram. Of all incarnations, Jund's colors feel the most at home for Katanalotis.

Description:

In times long past, before mortals committed their heresies against the gods, there was a being that hunted on the roads between Akros and Meletis. It stalked travelers and demanded they pay it tribute. When the terrified merchants and soldiers handed over all their supplies, the lion and shark would consume all of the food. This made the snake and the eagle agitated, who would then demand equal share. When the two heads denied them food, they gobbled up the travelers with the help of the ram. Tired, the chimera would then sleep until more travelers came across their path.

After word was sent to Akros by the wing of a pegasus, the leaders of each city asked their people to come up with a plan to kill the ferocious beast. Warriors from each city state volunteered to go to battle, but each was defeated by the heads that could see all around them. Akroan soldiers feel to the horrid claws and poison of the chimera. Diplomats from the city states tried to reason with this beast; surely if it could think it could be persuaded to eat only the food provided to it. When the diplomats tried to reason with the heads, they would disagree and in their anger would kill the groups.

When all others had failed, the meek innkeeper offered to try his hand. The remaining soldiers and scholars all laughed; what could a man who knows only food and service do to a raging beast such as this? Finding no help, the brewer and chef went alone, taking with him a cart of his greatest wine and the supplies necessary to cook a great meal.

When the chef met the chimera, he bowed down to its great fury and offered it a drink. The beast had had wine before, this was merely a fitting tribute while the innkeeper prepared his meal. The heads all continued to drink, each from their own barrel, until the heads of the eagle, shark, lion, serpent, and ram became so drunk that they fell into a deep slumber.

When they awoke the innkeeper set out a meal for the most voracious heads, the lion and the snake. They gobbled up the meal without a second thought, feeling full and satisfied. It was then that they truly awoke from their drunken stupor, and realized that they had been fed the other three heads. Full and bleeding, the Chimera could not move. Its selfishness and gluttony had seen its downfall, and the innkeeper's victory was certain. With his knives, the man stabbed at the remaining two heads, finishing them off.

Having learned nothing at all, the chimera awoke in Dominaria, hungry and angry.

Katanalotis' magic comes from the expression of separate mana by each of its potential heads. There is a distinct possibility that there could be more than five heads if Katanalotis were to consume a great amount of unusual mana or grow too close to artifacts. They tend to cast all spells separately, rarely able to access multi-colored abilities. Rather, it represents the aggression and elemental force of each mana color. Currently, Katanalotis only has the ability to express Black, Red, and Green mana individually.

Black - The snake head of the chimera specializes in spells that cause death and poison foes. It can render foes helpless and strikes with incredible speed. Its goals are tied to the continued gaining of power and status beyond the other heads.

Red - The war-like lion head focuses its power on the creation of aggression within itself and others. With a roar, it can charge into battle and force others to fight it. Its goals are immediate, only relating to what is currently happening.

Green - The ram is a master spell-shaper that focuses on growth of the world around it. Its magic is related to enchanting creatures that can then overrun foes. Its goals are simple, only wishing to regain Katanalotis' full strength.

While he was down there he came across Korozda Gorgon and she held him ready to kill him when somewhere in the back of his mind his spark activated quickly throwing him to Zendikar where he came across another planeswalker Nissa who offered him shelter for a short while. ) That is how he began to befriend all the spiders in the woods with his newfound pet. After befriending many spiders (and insects) Aglus decided it was high time he return to Ravnica where it all started for him. From there he made alliances with the golgari and began to add gorgons (along with the trolls and plant zombies) to the list of creatures he could summon as well as magic he could cast. He then became like the guilds other planeswalker and agreed to help them out occasionally when it interested him.
