Plot:
Hundreds of years ago, magic flourished in out world, as it had for thousands of years before. Dozens of different species existed in relative peace, though there was an occasional skirmish here and there. However, this long and glorious era would come to an end. A young and immensely powerful witch was born. As she grew older, her powers became known to herself and others. Some feared her powers, saying that she was an abomination. Some however, thought that training the young witch in how to control her magic, and guide her in how to use her gifts for good could lead her to a grand future. As her training progressed, the young witch came to desire more power and knowledge.
She constantly pushed her limits, seeking ever stronger spells. Eventually this would lead her down the path of the dark and forbidden arts. These magics slowly corrupted the young witch. After many years of scheming, subterfuge, and outright recruiting, the now fully realized witch and her followers moved against the magical world. They felt their powers were akin to Godhood. Needless to say, those ideologies were challenged and a war broke out. After many horrendous battles that would forever leave scars upon the land, a band of magic users managed to defeat the witch and her followers. Together they killed the followers, but they knew killing the witch would leave a void in the world, for she had become a true force of evil. So to maintain the balance of cosmic scale, these magic users sealed the witch within a book, her fate to remain there for eternity.
However a change still needed to be enacted to forever protect the world. So a grand spell was cast, one that suppressed the magic in the world. All magical races disappeared from the lands and no new generations were ever gifted with magic again.
Present Day....
You are a normal human. You and several others have gathered on a seemingly ordinary day. But the winds of fate have begun to stir. Unknowingly, you manage to find the book that contains the witch, and release her from her imprisonment. In doing so, you have unleashed not only evil upon the world once again, but magic as well. Suddenly granted magical abilities, you must learn how to control your new powers while discovering answers to an ancient prophecy. You can be sure of one thing, the witch will want revenge for centuries of confinement. Will you stand against her or will you join her? The path you were always meant to walk now beckons. Be wary, for your actions will have direct results that will ultimately impact the entire world.
