  Magic is among us! For a long time we were unaware of its existence, only thinking it to be part of fables or fantasy. Now, however, we’ve seen it with our own eyes. If you think it’s celebrated then you’re highly mistaken, instead it’s feared, by leaders and followers alike. There may be the stray human who believes otherwise, but they’d never speak out on it. As for the people with magic? They’ve been termed elemental beings.
  
  These elemental beings all have one thing in common; their magic comes from one of the four elements; earth, wind, fire, or air. It’s all connected back to one or the other, perhaps even two of them, but these magical gifts are nature born so it seems.
  
  It first began showing around fifteen years ago in children ages 18-22 and up, and so a school was created to help them learn to control these gifts that they’d been given so as not to disturb the peaceful human world that they’d been born into. These children all have their own ideas of what’s fair and what’s not, but the one thing they have in common is their magic and being treated differently because of it.
  
  This group will explore the college and the young adults that attend it as they learn more about their magic, themselves, and the world that they live in. So, let me know if you're interested and I can PM you the discord so we can get started with plotting.

  Fifteen years ago, a group of scientists went into a rainforest searching for an undiscovered species of tree. When they found it, they came to the realization that this wasn’t a species, it was the only tree of its kind. It had natural healing properties, so they took some of its leaves and began making ointment and medicines and selling them globally, this is what most think caused the magic to begin flowing through peoples’ veins.
  
  Some refuse to even buy anything made from the tree because of this rumor, others buy more of it in hopes powers will appear. The only thing they’ve become certain of though is that it appears around young-adulthood and is only affecting the newer generations rather than sprouting up magic in people that were already here.

  While there are no pre-made characters or specific spots, I do have some suggestions for different powers;
  - self-detonation (fire)
  - wind generation (air)
  - lung adaptability (water/air)
  - electricity (air)
  - healing (earth)
  - melting (fire)
  - hydroportation (water)
  - golem creation (earth)

  RULES
  001 This will be a literate - adv.lit group so think at least 3 paragraphs per response, however you decide to divide it up in your writing. Along with this, a writing sample will be part of the application process.
  002 Must be 16+ to join the group, it's just comfier for older members that way, nothing personal.
  003 No one likes OOC drama, so if you can't keep it IC only, this is not the group for you. Nothing characters do are personal to the player behind them, at least they shouldn't be.
  004 You must have and keep up with Discord as this is where all OOC convos and planning will take place.
  005 Be kind to each other. I can't express this enough. You never know what people are going through and if roleplay is some sort of escape, so please, just be kind..
